Regarding the word 'whore' in my post. I don't want to be misunderstood (I'm not a native English speaker). I borrowed the term from Vez's post, which used a similar wording. I certainly don't mean to derogatoryly describe actresses; quite the opposite. My point was to express that pixelation doesn't change what the actresses do. Therefore, according to my Western logic, it's not really a form of protection, as Vez wrote. But what do I know? I don't even understand Western women—so how am I supposed to understand Japan?

Thank you for this post. Japan and Asia as a whole often have ways of thinking that seem paradoxical to Westerners. Is pixelation really a last resort for the performers? Ultimately, it doesn't change the fact that they're essentially whores and have to live with it. I can only see it from a Western perspective and probably don't fully understand it. From my Western perspective: Pixelation is accepted and part of JAV, but it would be better without the censorship. And I know that many porn fans don't like JAV because of the censorship. It turns it into soft porn. Soft porn or gravure have their place. They're often more artistic and aesthetic than pure porn—but let's not kid ourselves. We want to see the performers having real sex. And that's hidden in JAV. Perhaps there should be Japanese versions and others only for foreign audiences. But the producers apparently don't want JAV to be watched outside of Japan.
