Who is the greatest JAV actress ever? Some data points.Slamdunx: I wouldn't have that much hate for R18. JAV studios and DRM are in a vicious cycle of irrelevance. When all other studios offer DRM (called 'Copy Guard" in Japan), they're going to want it to. Most don't realize that a lot of their work is already pirated which pretty much defeats DRM's purpose. R18 isn't pushing DRM; it's more of studios just expecting it and from a database perspective, it's probably easier for R18 to just have all movies use the same digital rights management system. When we license for ZENRA and are asked about DRM, we tell them we don't use it, but clearly explain the reasons why and so far we haven't had any rejections. At the end of the day, they want to make money and "feel" like only legitimate users are viewing their content.

A Brief History of JAV: Moodyz, Part 2: Glorious is where the Sun doesn't ShineJAV stars, like most non AAA-rank Hollywood actors, are paid per performance. No royalties. Before you may think that's unfair, do realize a big name makes close to $2000USD for a day's work. Someone like Eimi Fukada working gosh knows how many days a month is making a pretty penny.
