Extras especially when the are of 'lesser rank' are significantly cheaper to hire. There also are a small # of women who are OK with being clothed extras in JAV movies so if you see enough that warrant non-sexual non-naked female roles, you'll probably see the same faces appear again and again.

I was on the fence with leaving this up. Obviously adult film stars are known for certain things, but that doesn't mean we should regulate them all as being 'dick suckers'. Some are great in bed and also have other talents as well (classical pianists, lawyers (yes, really), and more). It's just as a sad fact that in Japan and elsewhere women still statistically are paid less and even if things were totally on par with men, many careers now simply don't pay as well as they should whereas a full day's filming for a decent name can give her almost a thousand dollars (USD).
