BREAKING: Airi Sato Reverts Back From Retirement Talks, Chiharu Makes A Much Awaited Revelation & More
Hey there! Here's a rundown of some of the most happening exits that happened in January.
Airi Sato Takes A U-Turn On Retirement Talks
This one story is going to question your sanity & make you exclaim, ‘WHAT!?’ So, this JAV babe, Airi Sato, recently hit a milestone and had already commemorated a decade in the AV game. Now, here's the real scoop. Airi recently dropped a bombshell about quitting AV to pursue a career on the stage. She even mentioned in her announcement about leaving the JAV scene for good. But guess what? It didn't take her much time to revert. She had a change of heart faster than you can say "action!"
Apparently, she took a decision in a hurry of quitting AV for a stage career but ended up reversing her decision to continue filming JAVs in less than 24 hours.
So, what's the verdict? Airi initially decided to drop out of the JAV scene by March, but surprise, surprise, she did a full 360 the very next day. Siri realized she wasn't ready to say goodbye to JAV afterall and here’s a catch for you all. To keep things interesting, she’s heading back to the scene with a new name. And, can you even blame her?
In a surprising twist, Airi decided to spice things up a bit. Out with the old and in with the new, she's ditching her OG stage name for something fresh. Can you believe it? A name change after a whole decade, who’d have expected? In a statement, Airi said, "I'm sorry for surprising you with the sudden announcement yesterday. And here's the news! I don't want to have a half-finished AV career, so I want to complete it. From now on, I would like to pursue both AV and stage work under the name 'Ai Abe'."
"At this time, I would like to tell you something. My first AV was taken in October after I graduated from high school, and today's AV was released on January 1st, 2014. It was debuted by Candy with the title, 'A clean, honest, and slightly naughty beautiful breasted beautiful girl makes her AV debut."
Further in the statement, Airi spilled the tea about her journey so far. According to her, she shot her first adult film right out of high school, and now, ten years later, she's looking back at it. Also, she happened to take a break from JAV to try her luck on stage but that lasted only three years, making her revert back. Seems like the allure of the industry was too hard to resist.
"I had so many encounters and memories that I can't even begin to tell you about them. Among them, the one I remember every time I come to Osaka is that I went to the launch event in Osaka in poor health, and the event was cancelled because I couldn't meet my fans."
In her statement, Airi got all nostalgic, reminiscing about a her trip to Osaka while being sick as a dog. There, she met her fans and left with a heart full of fulfillment. She goes on to add that her stage performances were messing with her adult film gig so she had to leave one. Decisions, decisions.
"My office will remain unchanged and I will continue to be affiliated to Aloha Promotion as usual. My manager who listened to my concerns and the studio who supported the sudden resumption of my AV and to all the fans who have been waiting for my AV activities, thank you very much."
Also, big shoutout to Airi's manager and agency for pulling some strings and managing to keep her on the roster. I’m glad, they convinced her to stick around and keep those cameras rolling. Lucky for us, she's not pulling a retirement move like some other actresses. We certainly dodged a bullet there!
In a nutshell, our girl Airi Sato isn't going anywhere, with her latest move she has signalled that she's here to stay! So, buckle up, fans, ‘cause Airi Sato 2.0 is headed your way.
Anka Suzune Has The Final Word On Her Future
Perhaps there is no end to the retirement coverage I’ve done, let alone in January. Next up on the list, we’ve Anka Suzune who plans to exit the industry by next month. You heard it right. She announced it over a tweet.
"Actually, I was thinking of quitting right after my debut, but NAX, the makers and everyone who supported me have been so kind and warm that I have been able to keep going!"
Anka spilled the beans, confessing that how she dove headfirst into the JAV scene in early 2022, but was in crossroads regarding her decision, yeah she wanted to quit back then. We don’t happen to have the exact reasons behind that, there was also some convincing needed from her agency to have Anka stick around a bit longer but now she’s hell bent on leaving the industry.
"I was thinking that it would be a shame to quit while still loving the industry, but I decided to retire knowing that everyone would be warm and supportive of me taking on new challenges."
The babe is now grappling with the fear of regret, contemplating leaving the scene just two years from her exciting debut. Yet, she's counting on her die-hard fans to keep a watchful eye on her even after she hangs up her stilettos.
"I'm going to finish filming and events in February, but I'm going to stay on Twitter until all my work is finished, so as always, I'd love to hear from you! I'll be happy to receive your messages as usual!"
Get ready to score some of her JAVs because Anka's final adult video shoots are slated to wrap up by early February. Fear not, though, as she intends to keep her Twitter active to post updates of her new releases.
But wait, there's more! Anka has a little treat for her loyal fans. In a statement, she said, "I'm also going to have my 2nd anniversary and 5th retirement event at Snack NAX in February, so it would be great if you could come and see me at the end of the month." You could say it’s more of a farewell event in February where you can actually meet the star in the flesh. Don't even think about skipping out on this one; it's your chance to say your goodbyes and maybe even snag an autograph or two.
Mio Kamishiro Set To Leave Her Agency LIGHT
LIGHT bought us the ever so sexy Mio Kamishiro, the hotshot debutante who debuted into the industry back in 2022 under the agency’s watchful eyes, having scouted this talent in her late 20’s is gearing up to leave the game. Yep, you heard it right! After just two years in the business, Mio seems to have been done with the JAV industry. But hey, before you get all teary-eyed, there's a silver lining. She's not ditching her fanbase anytime soon!

"I am leaving LIGHT! The reason is to open a new door for her. I decided I wanted to become famous and run my own company."
Okay so here's the juicy deets. Mio spilled the beans on her big decision, revealing that she's planning to dive headfirst into starting her own LLC. In layman’s terms, her own company. However, she didn't dish out the specifics about her new venture, but word on the street is that it's going to be some kind of media company. Makes sense, right? After all, she's got some serious on-the-job training from her time in the JAV business and now is the time to put it to good use.
Furthermore, she shared that her initial dream was to be an exclusive artist in the adult industry, and guess what? The stars had aligned for her and she made it happen. Now, she's ready to move on, but she explained that there’s a particular AV that she featured in, that’d always be close to her heart. "I made my debut as an exclusive AV actress, which is what I have always dreamed of."
Frankly, she’s ain’t going anywhere anytime soon and intends to keep the party going. Mia mentioned, "I have no plans to delete my work. I will continue to work at Red Dragon after I retire, so there will be a place for you to meet me!" Starting in February, she'll be serving tables at the famed Red Dragon club at Roppongi. So, all you readers who ever wanted to catch a glimpse of her in action, there’s your chance!
For the rest, it’d be wise for you guys to follow her brand new X account that I’ll link below so that you don’t skip on the timely updates but she intends to take down her current SNS by the time you’re done reading this. Here's what she had to say about the same, "I will erase all social networking sites at the end of February, but from March I will be reporting on my activities on my new account from March!". On the workfront, she recently featured in MDVHJ-094 alongside Reira Fuji.
Chiharu Miyazawa Finally Quits JAV After A Year From Statement
It took a year to be official but Chiharu Miyazawa has called it a day on her JAV career and has finally decided to bid adieu to the industry since a year from her announcement. With her shoots wrapped up, she is now ready to quit and she did in December, just like she promised. Frankly, this wasn't some spur-of-the-moment decision; Chiharu spilled the beans on her retirement way earlier in January last year. She set a deadline of wrapping things up by the end of December, and well, she did walk the talk.

"I announced my resignation about a year ago, and I wonder if I've been able to meet and express my gratitude to many people over the past year."
If you're wondering who Chiharu even is, the girl ushered into JAV with Prestige back in March 2017 and then went on to star in productions from various studios and let me tell you, because of the roles she picked up, she gained quite the notoriety and a seriously sizable fanbase. It's not every day you find someone to look at in awe and sit through the whole JAV.
But hey, don't be sad, readers. She doesn’t plan to ghost us entirely. Not at all, she’ll carry on posting on X to keep us in the loop about her post-JAV shenanigans, so fear not, you won't wake up one day and find her vanished into thin air. She's got some retirement announcements lined up for the latter half of the year. Keep those notifications popping, Chiharu! The actress validated this by stating, "I will continue to use SNS for the time being from next year. I will continue to release more works, and I have even taken photos of my retirement works."
In the grand scheme of things, it's just another chapter closing in the wild world of JAV. Cheers to Chiharu, for her time in the industry. May her post-retirement endeavors be just as exciting. Oh, and did you all notice how she rocks a bride costume in her retirement announcement, something’s cooking, eh? This’ll keep me hooked for the rest of the day now. Maybe she has found her partner and wants to settle down for good. Good for her!

We're not touching that case with a 100 foot pole. Hopefully she gets the help she needs.
Per agency and model health, pasting my reply from the SLR forum from not too long ago:
"It's the agency's responsibility to ensure their performers are healthy both physically and mentally. In this situation, reaching out to the agency is the best choice.
Also note that for some, JAV is indeed their safe space; so-and-so was booked, is eager to film, appears gung-ho about performing, but may not look good. Should a studio say no? Easier said than done in this situation plus how the new law has made scheduling such a fraught affair; simply rescheduling for another week can't be done any more. Cutting shoots can bankrupt smaller studios. In this situation, provided the actress really still wants to perform, the show, for better or worse, must go on."
