Classic JAV Sets - Which Studio Did Them Best? (Part 2)

We have already talked about some of the classic JAV sets in my previous blog entry. So here is another installment for several other classic sets that you'll find featured in JAV.

This time we'll be talking about some of the less common, but still iconic settings.

But still, the clinic is such a common set in JAV. What really titillates the imagination when it comes to clinics are the nurses (of course), the cool gadgets, and just the right amount of privacy for some sneaky sexy time.

Usually in JAV, the nurse is a willing pervert who will pounce on the patient with enthusiasm. This is the case with CJOD-412, a video featuring the sex genius, Ena Satsuki. Here she plays a naughty nurse who likes teasing and stimulating her patients for her own twisted pleasure.

What I really like about the set the Bi studio used on this one is how they slowly transformed the clinic. First, it was properly lit with white, clinical light. However, as Ena-san becomes more and more deranged, her outfit changes as well as the set. The clinic becomes darker, and then finally a bit pinkish and erotic. They did well to portray a realistic clinic, but also did not hesitate to put their twist on it.

Now let's check out Moodyz's set in MIDE-572 starring Chinami Ito. Despite being an older work, notice the amount of details they put into the set. The clinic actually has multiple partitions, and the medical gizmos look well in place. You just know that they hired an actual nurse to design the room.

Moreover, they even put in the effort to add an extra to make the action more exciting.

Now compare it to a very similar set used by SOD in START-100, which is a lot more recent, featuring Haru Shibasaki. Although you can argue that the video quality and the situations in START-100 are better than MIDE-572, Moodyz's set actually looks more like an actual clinic.

Moodyz is well-known for their elaborate sets and attention to details, so we're not surprised that they have the edge when it comes to making clinic sets.

Also worth mentioning is Faleno's version of the clinic, which is also well-equipped, including some medical gadgetry and some colorful props. Check it out in action in FSDD-240 starring Meisa Kawakita.

It's for a good reason. Konbinis usually hire students in their early 20s as part-timers. That is why people usually encounter attractive cashiers and storekeepers in konbinis. And of course, who would even think of fucking in such a public place? That, my friends, is the key to every kink.

Perhaps there is no studio that has done the konbini genre as masterfully as Faleno. One of the best videos in this genre is FSDSS-518 featuring the beautiful Ai Hongo.

One thing I like about this video is how it used every part of the konbini. We see Ai and her pets do the deed everywhere: in the storage room, in the cashier, in the stalls while people are moving around, and even behind the fridge. Faleno really made the most out of their small set.

Moreover, their konbini sets looks functional and well-designed. We see all sorts of products and gizmos across the room. The lighting is also spot-on. They really did their best to make it look like a realistic convenience store.

The back alley is a classic. One of the early series that features it is the "Back Alley Married Woman Creampie" series which features mature women doing the deed in the middle of the an alley. However, due to its age, the quality of the videos in this series is quite poor. Nonetheless, the alley featured in this series really looks like an alley you would see in real life.

However, one of the nastiest alley-themed series in recent memory is " I Actually Have Not Swallowed My Husband's Cum" by the studio Kosumosu Eizo. The series' concept is that they feature older woman who have not tasted semen all their lives. Suddenly, they find themselves sucking multiple men in a tight alley and swallowing their cum.

One of the best videos in the series is HAWA-145 starring Yuri Honma. We get to see this sex virtuoso swallowing multiple loads in said alley.

Although the alley scene in the series takes only a small part of the entire video, it has become iconic enough to be featured in other videos.

Fitch studio managed to come up with the twist for this set (or a lack thereof). In JUFE-553, they got the gorgeous Totsuki Ruisa for her first cum swallow movie and set it in a blank room.

The concept is that the sex scenes will be caught on fixed-point cameras. The room only has an empty mattress and a couple of sex toys.

However, the lack of props and basically anything at all in the set is made up for by creative lighting and good editing. They used a wide variety of colored lights to keep the featureless room alive. Somehow, they managed to make it all look psychedelic and erotic.

This is proof that the set is not simply about realistic props. Masterful lighting can also make or break a movie. JUFE-553 is kind of an extreme experiment to show just that. Surprisingly, it kinda works.
