Fanza DVD Sales Ranking 2023 so far

Another Fanza Sales Ranking drop for the first half of the year. Yes the massive AV storefront is sharing with us the best selling actresses by DVD order for 2023 so far. Be mindful that Fanza is only one part of the JAV industry but a big part of it to be sure. This also doesn’t take into account for international fans nor their interests. Which is difficult for them to even buy it thanks to r18 closing but that’s a whole other conversation.

Below is a text list of all the actresses so you can search if your favorite actress made it in the Top 200. Now let’s dive on in to see whose selling like hotcakes.

The Top Earners

First of course are the Top Earners. Life is pretty for these top ten actresses. Yua Mikami and Minami Aizawa both got that retirement bonus buff. Interest in retiring actresses skyrocket and both were already popular actresses. Non Ohana and Mizuki Yayoi take the freelancing crown from Ichika for now. Meanwhile Mio Ishikawa continues her super rookie campaign. JAV fans are loving her girl next door looks and vibe. The former pop star Yotsuha Kominato continues her very strong dominance for SOD. She’s been getting better and better at performing too. Not just a gimmick. Finally we have a surprise at number 10 with Kana Morisawa. A steady veteran actress for years, she has been heating up for the last year or so but this is a surprise. Since getting some work done on her face she has been a hot commodity. Her doctor should be getting a nice gift basket from her.

Biggest Changes and Rising Actresses

Let’s look at the biggest change since a year ago which I covered here. Mina Kitano goes crashing down from 3^rd to 88^th. Meanwhile Hana Shirato is totally gone, more on that below. Tsubomi exits out with her retirement. Non Ohana saw a huge jump from 78 to 3. She is perfect in the Onee-san role that JAV fans are loving today. Tsumugi Akari flies up from 86 to a sweet 22. Mayuki Itou sees a good jump from 60 to 14. A veteran actress now that is seeing a nice bump later on in her career. Boosted more thanks to her appearance in Beauty Venus 8 too. Finally the hyped up Unpai drops from 65 all the way down to 114.

Now we take a look at the rising names in JAV. Alice Otsu at 12 continues her rise all while shaking her fat ass and squirting all over. Sumire Kurokawa has seen a nice jump in her career now at 16. A sneaky great ass hidden in her slim figure. Speaking of old vets with nice asses; Sora Amakawa nets the 43 ranking. Jun Suehiro and her low hanging ass continue to trend upward. Life is good for ass actresses. Mei Satsuki gets on board to 18. A cute face who is beloved for her underrated performances. The same can be said for the petite Natsu Tojo at 21. Rima Arai and her ridiculously nice small body make it to 38. The milfy Ryo Ayumi sees a comeback that lands her at 50. The energetic Ena Satsuki jumps to 35. Finally the gorgeous Riri Nanatsumori graces us at 60. She hasn’t impressed me much in her videos but her looks are top class.

Promising Rookies

How about the newbies? First there’s SOD’s Noriko Hoshi at 25. She looks like she’s going to be a part of their new wave alongside Yotsuha, Minamo, and Momona. And of course Rei Kamiki at 42. A bit lower than I expected to be honest. She’s my favorite of the new SOD wave. We have S1’s Alice Shinomiya at 66. As always S1 finds the prettiest girls with the best bodies. Her slim figure and big boobs are their bread and butter. Not to be beaten by them, SOD has Iori Himeka at 97 with her massive bust. For freelancing debuts we have at 69, Marui Moeka a tiny little cute petite with her charm to spare. Then there is Ayase Kokoro with her voluptuous and curvy body at 79. With her just as good body is Idea Pocket’s Rin Hachimitsu at 83. Rin might be a bit of a bore in the bedroom but that body is top tier.

Old Stars Today

Now we turn to the old heads, I mean experienced stars of JAV. Yui Hatano stays strong at 17. Impressive with her 15 years in JAV, she is my GOAT of JAV. While her BFF Hibiki Otsuki sits at 61. Still doing well are also Mana Sakura at 20, Yuu Shinoda at 24, Julia at 29. To my surprise Airi Kijima lands all the way at 30. I love Airi but she’s one I expect for others to underrate. Happy to see it. Then we have Yuu Kawakami still hanging around at 68. And even with decades of videos Yumi Kazama still is sitting pretty at 129. Her fans are definitely dedicated and not tired of her videos just yet.

Modern Stars

For the more modern stars we have Nao Jinguji at 32. Momo Sakura is peaking right now, standing up at 13. Kana Momonogi sits below Momo at 58. Up from last year and I think it is due to her gaining back some weight. Someone needs to tell IP; Kana weight up = good, Kana weight down = bad. S1’s newest acquisition Ai Hongo aka Yume Nikaidou lands at 40. The stellar freelancing Himari Kinoshita stands up at 31. Then we get to Miru at 74. The S1 star recently alert fans when she posted a lengthy message reaffirming her commitment to JAV. Which just made fans question if she was thinking about retiring. 74 is too damn low for a true Semen Demon like Miru.

Omissions

Not we move onto the omissions, the most notable names missing. Everyone’s favorite gal AIKA is MIA. The hardcore queen Hana Kano is not anywhere to be seen but maybe that is to be expected. Asahi Mizuno seems to have quietly exited porn once again. Thankfully it seems it is because she is back to her nail salon business. The once superstar of JAV Eimi Fukada is nowhere on the list. She has signed on with Faleno but I would consider her days numbered. JAV might be too small for her now, she is likely ready to move on. A couple of big ladies are not on the top 200 such as Maria Nagai, Shiori Tsukada, and Yuri Honma.

The biggest omission for me is Hana Shirato. She left JAV without a word overnight and there’s no indication what she is up to at all. A once promising star in JAV has gone silent. The same can be said for Mahina Amane aka Maria Hoshi. Two loses that really bum me out. Finally we have Kana Yume now known as Jun Mizukawa. Her name change and return has been quiet. Now with Dahlia which seems like limbo for many of their girls. What a shame as Kana is a grade A performer when properly motivated and criminally underrated in her career.

My choice picks

Now for my favorites. Aika Yamagishi (now Ayaka) is sitting pretty at 39. Well-deserved for an actress of her quality and impressive for her lack of big physical assets. Anna Kami comes roaring in at 55. She is so good now it is nice to see fans finally seeing it too. On the topic of underrated actresses; Mei Miyajima of SOD comes in at 57. Her unique face and body make her an interesting actress. Yura Kano of S1 finally gets some love at 33. One of the best performers in bed alongside Miru. Then there is Mia Nanasawa at 89. The petite Moodyz girl is a stellar performer and cute as cute can be. Then there’s Jun Kasui at 91. An S1 girl who can play roles really well with ass from out of nowhere.

SOD is back on Fanza

SOD (Soft on Demand) is truly back on Fanza. They are all over the rankings from their biggest and smallest stars making the list. Stars like Mana, Rei, Suzu Honjo, Yuna Ogura, Minamo, Meisa Nishimoto, Mahiro Tadai, Hibiki Natsume, and more making the list. SOD has merged back within Fanza. As has Prestige with all their biggest names on there like Airi Suzumura, Remu Suzumori, and Umi Yatsugake. Monopolies; if you can’t beat them just give in.

Surprises

Now we move onto the biggest surprises on the list. Like Reiko Kobayakawa going on strong at 80. The mature milf mainly stars in smaller titles now so it’s a nice surprise to see her chart so high still. She’s someone I’ve warmed up to more and more over the years and I’m not alone it seems. At 96 is Ichika Hoshimiya aka Tall Ichika. The leggy babe seems like an odd fit for the star studded S1 but she has carved out a solid career with them so far. Another shock was seeing An Komatsu at 148. An has a pretty face but I reviewed her poorly during my debut review for her. Here she is still in JAV and still making a go of it and in the Top 200. Lastly we have Sumire Mizukawa falling way down at 130. I guess I should be too surprised as she has been shooting porn aboard for a good chunk of the year now.  

In the 200

Outside of the 100 are Karen Kaede at 109. Karen only has a few videos so far but is already back in the top 200. Not bad for her short return so far. I expect her back within the top 100 by year’s end. With her return to using her old name Karen maybe she’ll be back with Idea Pocket too. Who knows. Down the line we have Rara Anzai still around at 135 despite being mostly MIA. A small win for me at 190 with Haruka Rukawa. A milf debut who I’ve been following. Ai Mukai drops down to 152. Expected with her change from freelancer to exclusive with Madonna. At 181 and 182 are Rika Aimi and Lauren Karen. Rika’s an easy going and underappreciated freelancer. While Lauren is finding her footing after being let go from SOD. At rock bottom we have Maki Hojyo. A pretty fitting ranking for an older actress whose been around for so long and working quietly.

Hardcore Queens

Now we move onto the hardcore side of things. Another claim to fame is being the wildest and freakiest chick out there. Alice skyrockets to 12 while Akari Niimura and Yuria Yoshine fly up to 28 and 27. Yuria’s hardcore turn was something I wasn’t expecting. Akari meanwhile is a deepthroating fiend. Way down at 106 is Ayaka Mochizuki a wild ahegao loving lady with a deep throating love herself. My hidden gem pick for a new hardcore queen is Uni Shiokawa. A rookie whose jumped right into the deep end to start off her career. A slim little woman who takes it deep down her throat and down her asshole. She’s a name that hardcore fans might want to look out for.

We finally get to the best selling titles. At the very top is the BV spinoff with Yua Mikami, Arina Arata, and Minami Aizawa. A super star studded affair that is further boosted thanks to their retirement announcements. It should land in the Top Ten over easily by year’s end. Number 2 is the surprise debut from Hong Kong. No doubt many of her countrymen boosted her sales to the top. At number 5 is Lemon Tanaka’s debut video showing that her fans are very much still into her. Of course Lemon lasted only a short while. Meanwhile Yotsuha has three titles within the top ten and Saika Kawakita with 2. Some other notable titles in the Top 100 are Beauty Venus 8 at 22. Yuna Shiina’s comeback at 45. Yua’s Bakobus video at 63. Makoto Toda’s retirement video at 72. And finally for me Aika Yamagishi’s swimsuit title at 99.
