Today I’ll be discussing the new debut at E-Body, Mina Kitano. As it’s a debut film, I want to focus more on the actress rather than the film, as it pertains to whether she’s someone to keep an eye on the future. Spoiler alert: The rumors are true. She’s someone to keep an eye on.

Mina Kitano has been on Twitter as a marketing tool for her pre-debut start. Like many of her counterparts, she has been utilizing Twitter to build her fanbase (and uses it quite often). Although there’s a good chance it’s completely handled by her agency, we won’t really know for sure. One thing I can tell you however, is the content she or her staff uploads daily is… well… interesting to say the least. She does recaps at night, giving explanations about things, and posts about SEX (emphasis on the caps), and sometimes is so redundant it’s comedic.

Needless to say, the fact that she addresses fans as “erotic people”, only builds up on her image, as she’s aware of her audience’s sex drive… So, let’s get into the film.

As the worst parts of debuts tend to be the interviews, which are lengthy and can be somewhat dry, this debut holds no exception. I was able to find some gems in the interview, but for the most part it was an arduous process of watching, especially considering I had a bit of knowledge from following Mina on Twitter beforehand.

Mina is supposedly a Ginza hostess; in other words, a classy lady joining AV with a strong libido. The Ginza district is known for their exclusivity, and famous for both their classy hostesses, and the high-end customers… Needless to say, Mina didn’t strike the snobby airs. Fortunately, she was down to Earth throughout the video.

Production:

I really have no complaints about the quality of the production. The dresses were fantastic, and I really loved the white one to start with, even if it’s not the same one as on the cover. The lighting and editing were top-notch, and the camera angles were pretty solid, and nothing else than what I’d expect.

This being said, the worst part of the whole film was the interview, and for that reason alone, it speaks volumes about the potential of her. I actually found Mina enjoyable and not crappy like the instructions given to actresses for debuts. I was really pleased with what I saw in terms of her energy, and while it was by no means flawless, it was clearly a step in the right direction.

Future:

Mina is undoubtedly considered by some as the next “great” AV actress…  While I have a hard time coming to that conclusion as of right now, I don’t discount the fact that Mina has what it takes to be great. Her energy, attitude, and body combine for a killer combo. I also believe she actually understands the part of “actress” in her job title, which is paramount to having a strong start.

 The potential issue I find, is the fact that she’s in a category where she has to “fight” with a lot of actresses. I’d say she looks like a mix of Morimoto Tsugumi and Mei Washio/Jun Kakei or even Hibiki Otsuki. To boot, she has a similar frame to many other actresses like Hikari Sena, Waka Misono etc. It’s promising that she started off in E-Body as that’s probably the best fit right now, but she’ll be limited to drama roles, and won’t get great exposure unless she starts to freelance.

Summary:

To recap, her energy is really good and she definitely has the potential and the drive to be great; and she already is arguably great. My biggest concern is that in a saturated market filled with similar body types, faces, and passion, it’s hard to find a standout quality that automatically puts her above the rest. All in all, a great find and I honestly can’t wait to see what her future holds.
