In this newest series of posts, I will be looking back and ranking each year's worth of films from Hitomi Tanaka's career. As such I'm kicking it off with 2008 and 2009. I decided to group the two years together since 2008 only had a few releases. Overall this era was a bit rough to say the least. None of these films really left a mark besides a select few. Most were very plain, vanilla and uninspired. However there are a couple still worth watching if you're a diehard fan. With all that out of the way let's kick it off with my least favorite film.

14. STAR-139

"I'll Become Incontinent If This Goes On..."

By far one of the weakest films from this era for Hitomi. The film is entirely based around the concept of squirting, nothing much more to it than that honestly. A concept that could have been great if executed properly but not quite so here. To the film's credit, they at least incorporate some nice outfits for Hitomi such as a schoolgirl and nurse that help with some variety. However, there isn't much else going for it. For starters the camerawork is terrible.

Much of the attention is spent of super close up shots of her censored shaved pussy. Even during the sex scenes, the camera is entirely fixated down there and it's baffling. This style even extends to the paizuri segments where they shoot her right up close and from an odd angle ruining the scene entirely. In addition, the first 30 minutes are spent on an interview and a close up of her masturbating. The pacing all around is awful and bloated. The squirting aspect is nice at times but beyond that, there's little value here. It's a complete misfire.

13. STAR-159

"First Creampie Heaven"

As you may be able to guess from the title this film centers around Hitomi supposedly having her first creampie experience on camera. I say supposedly since it very well could be fake. Anyway, it's an all-around simple and straightforward film that ultimately fails to impress. First off is the production qualities which has a few hiccups. One is the bland and lazy settings as they reuse the same hotel room twice. And it features an odd camera quirk where Hitomi looks directly into the camera constantly. It's a little unsettling at times and makes no sense.

Beyond that, the action itself is solid at least. There are 3 full sex scenes overall all ending in creampies of course. It's pretty intense and features some good position variety. However, at times it's a little dragged out and it really feels like they could have trimmed some scenes back and added an extra scene. Another disappointment is her lackluster acting. She delivers a mostly submissive performance that is just not compelling to watch at all and is relatively dull. All this results in a rather underwhelming film with little real incentive to watch.

12. STAR-148

"High End Sexual Service"

Kicking off my list with my personal least favorite video from this time period. It's no secret that I loathe soapland films so no surprise to see this at the bottom of my list. As far as the setup goes it's fairly straightforward with Hitomi working as a soapland girl. Starting out by learning the ropes a bit before taking the lead soon after. Expect all the bells and whistles of a typical film within the genre. For what it's worth the sex itself isn't too bad and the first introduction scene with her and a,I assume, professional soapland girl is solid and fun to watch.

My main issue with this film and with the soapland genre overall is the incredibly slow pacing. There's a major focus on foreplay consisting of kissing, licking, and lotionplay with Hitomi rubbing herself all over the actor. It's just one of those things that isn't that satisfying to watch imo. It leads to a bloated runtime that could have easily been condensed. Also, the location variety is pretty bland and repetitive. They all feel the same and don't stand out at all. In addition, her performance is rather mixed. At times she boasts great energy and facial expressions and other times she's lackluster and barely engages at all. This really just isn't my cup of tea. If you like the genre you'll probably enjoy more than me but otherwise, this film is a major pass. 

11. ARS-020

"Electric Shock Transfer! SUPER J"

This was Hitomi's first film after leaving SOD Create and joining Arashi studio. Unfortunately, it's about as bland and forgettable as it gets. Overall there's no central plot whatsoever. It's your typical debut type film with very vanilla scenes. There's really not much to go over here but I'll try. Let's start with her performance which is pretty underwhelming. Early Hitomi was not a top-notch performer like she is now so her acting here is not very good. She's not very engaging and is rather whiny. Hell at one point she actually turns away from a cumshot during paizuri.

The action as a whole is fine but nothing memorable or unique at all. There's a nice POV sex scene at the start but beyond that, it's all incredible vanilla and unremarkable. The lighting is also pretty weak. It's pretty flat in most scenes or in one scene too damn bright. Her appearance isn't too memorable either with no standout outfits to be had. With its bland action, weak performance, and lackluster technical aspects there's really no reason to go back to this.

10. STAR-177

"Extreme Cumming Squirting"

STAR-177 is definitely one of the weaker releases from this time period. The central premise revolves around squirting, and that's about it really. A simple theme that could have been great if executed properly but not so here. One reason this film falters is in Hitomi's performance. As I've mentioned Hitomi was a rough performer at the start of her career and that's definitely the case with this film as she's whiny, submissive, and just overall pretty dull to watch.

Now with a focus on action and squirting, you'd expect it to be pretty good right? Well, it's pretty lackluster all around. The first scene is comprised of some boring groping and fingering followed by an interview that is completely pointless unless you can understand Japanese. It's then followed by a few sex scenes that are overall relatively fine but nothing terribly unique except for one scene with a side actress groping and fingering Hitomi. The middle scene is also far too dragged out. In the end, it's a very forgettable film unless you're a diehard fan of squirting.

9. STAR-171

"Horny Woman"

The next entry on my list is yet another bland sex-focused film. As far as I can tell there's no distinct premise at all. It's just a series of sex scenes. This one at least though is much more interesting and better produced than my previous entry. For starters, her appearance is fantastic here. Physically she looks pretty good but her wardrobe is the real star. She wears several stunning outfits that do a fantastic job at showcasing her cleavage. Or in the last scene when she keeps her bra on during the sex and gives her boobs a much-needed lift.

Technically it's a well-shot film. The camerawork is on point, the lighting is superb and the pacing overall is decent although the last scene is dragged out at the start. Now I will say her performance is a letdown. She's not terrible but nothing here will blow your mind. Her enthusiasm is average and she can get rather whiny at times. Lastly, the action across the board is quite good with terrific sex scenes, especially the POV one. However, there is a really bland and mundane masturbation scene. All around a mostly average vanilla sex-focused film.

8. ARS-027

"A Young Wife's Temptation"

This film features a familiar premise that has been done time and time again in JAV. It revolves around Hitomi playing a housewife who inadvertently seduces random men. Some examples include her tittyfucking a few package delivery men or giving a blowjob to a masseuse. The situations are varied enough to keep the premise feeling fresh. However, despite that, the film is a disappointment overall. One reason why is her subpar acting. She delivers a mostly submissive performance and she's not very compelling to watch.

The action across the board is a mixed bag. The sex scenes themselves are fine but nothing more than that really. It's the filler scenes though that are a real letdown. The blowjob and paizuri scenes are forgettable. Compounding this issue is the pacing. There's far too much foreplay for my liking that severely drags out all the scenes. Also, the lighting isn't too great and Hitomi's wardrobe is rather uninspired. This film had some potential with its setup but it's mostly squandered and gone to waste.

7. STAR-134

"Exposed Sex Under The Blue Sky"

What can be better than the sun, the beach and some big titties. That's exactly what this film aims to deliver and for the most part it succeeds. The general premise here is your typical outdoors/beach themed video focusing entirely on sex. I'm not always the biggest fan of this type of film as it can sometimes be relatively shallow. STAR-134 is pretty par for the course overall. Not to sound like a broken record but her acting is fairly underwhelming here. Not terribly engaging and a little too whiny across the board.

On the more positive side though Hitomi looks outstanding here. You can't go wrong with Hitomi in bikini's but there is one scene featuring her tied up in ropes that is a huge turn off personally. Other than that she looks fantastic. The lighting is hit or miss of course given it's all naturally lit but it's mostly pretty good. And overall the action is excellent with several nice sex scenes and a solid paizuri scene. However, there's a very underwhelming masturbation scene that is a complete bore. It all results in a mostly satisfying outdoor/beach sex video that is sure to please.

6. ARS-032

"Colossal Tits Titty Fuck Special"

A video dedicated entirely to paizuri? Sign me up! Sounds pretty good on paper and thankfully it mostly lives up to expectations. Overall it's a simple vanilla video with an emphasis on tittyfucking and sex. There's next to no plot or even scenarios for the scenes themselves which is a slight bummer. But I can partially overlook that if the action makes up for it which it thankfully does. The paizuri itself is solid and features some nice cumshots while the sex itself is great too with excellent pacing.

Now I will say that her performance is a bit lacking. During the paizuri scenes, she's adequate but when the sex kicks off she's a little too laid back and lacks proper enthusiasm. Lastly I gotta say this is a very well-produced film all around. The lighting is spot on, the settings are varied enough, and best of all Hitomi's wardrobe is stunning with several sexy and memorable outfits that really highlight her chest. All that combined makes for a terrific paizuri centric film sure to please any avid fans of hers. 

5. STAR-153

"Celebrity Hitomi Extreme Groping Hell"

Normally not a genre that I am personally a fan of but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. As you may have guessed the central theme is indeed based around molesting with Hitomi getting groped and fucked in a variety of different places. Some examples include a train car, massage parlor, and an elevator. The one unique caveat to all this is that each scene ends in a group facial or bukkake. Definitely helps bolster the scenes as a whole. All around the action is quite good with great group sex scenes and some remarkable blowjob scenes to boot. The one-on-one blowjob scene in the bathroom was a letdown though but other than that it's pretty solid.

Early Hitomi was rather submissive with her acting which is usually a negative but here it's to her and the films benefit. Her acting is spot on with fitting facial expressions and being resistant. While I can't say I'm a huge fan of this type of acting it at least makes sense here and Hitomi delivers a solid performance overall. Regarding the production quality, it's all fantastic for the most part. The settings are all varied and stand out from one another. Each one of her outfits fits the theme of the scenes quite well. The pacing is balanced across the board and doesn't drag in any noticeable ways. And the lighting is pretty good although it's a bit too dim in the final scene. While this film is definitely a bit niche if you're a fan of this genre and group facials then check it out.

4. STAR-128

"Celebrity Hitomi Shocking Porno Debut"

Here we have Hitomi's first-ever AV film making her explosive debut, and the industry was never the same since then. As a whole it's your typical debut film serving as an introduction to Hitomi and highlighting her key assets of course. That specific aspect of the film really delivers. SOD spends much of the runtime playing with her chest and dressing her up in several revealing outfits helping serve as some wonderful eye candy. Now I can't say too much regarding her performance. As you'd expect she's relatively reserved here and isn't that engaging. Not a huge issue though in the grand scheme of things.

At last, we reach my number one video. I really had no struggle at selecting my top choice as this video wonderfully combines cum play, great action, and a memorable and unique plot. The premise puts Hitomi in charge of an adult nursery of sorts where she frequently services both the clients and fellow faculty members. The "cum loving" part comes into play when she fantasizes about receiving a group facial from clients all while she's "breastfeeding" one of them. It's all pretty silly and over the top but certainly makes for one hell of an entertaining watch. You can attribute part of that to her acting. Hitomi delivers an above-average performance as she plays her role quite well and boasts some nice enthusiasm at times. Nice job all around.

The action is perhaps the best aspect of the film. For starters, it features 4 full sex scenes in all with one even being a threesome. In addition, there's that fantastic group facial scene with her getting covered in cum. My only two gripes are a very lame blowjob scene and that most of the cumshots are lackluster, besides the group facial scene. Hitomi's appearance is another bright spot as she sports some cute and revealing outfits that highlight her bust and she's got some nice pigtails to boot. And from a technical standpoint, it's nearly flawless. The lighting is superb, the camerawork is terrific and the set design fits the theme perfectly. All in all, it's a fun, memorable, and entertaining film that still stands as one of her most unique to date.
