Hey everyone, welcome to the August sales report. We're finally getting quite close to the debut posts, only a couple of months away now. I've already got a quarter of them reviewed and I'm largely waiting for already debuted talent to have their best works come out. We're also now getting to the point where debuts won't have enough time to show off their skills before I review them, so keep in mind that debuts in this post might not make it until I do another post in the new year. With that said, let's jump into the sales.

Top Actresses

Minami Hatsukawa is someone whose retirement is upcoming but I'll be damned if she isn't going the Meguri route and doing as much as she can before retiring. She's really making a good push and even if I'm not much of a fan of her myself I can respect the work ethic. It almost makes you wonder if they would reconsider retirement. She's getting lots of great opportunities and probably making bank with all these releases. The first one is part of Rookie's infamous Number One World Class Cum Busting Agent series, which is one of those love it or hate it series (I personally like it), and if you're into that kind of thing it'll probably be great. The other is Wanz Factory's 10 Minute series, where the actress has 10 minutes to use everything except intercourse to get a guy to bust a nut or else she has to have raw creampie sex with him. Like the first video, it's also a really fun and lighthearted video and it's one of my favourite series. If you're looking to have a laugh while jerking it then take a peek at it.

Mai Kanami is a recent Idea Pocket debut and it looks like she's doing well for herself. While she's not quite as popular as Momo Sakura, being right beside fellow studio star Minami Aizawa is a good sign for her. Debuts always seem to do well so there's always that bit of caution that this might just be the newcomer effect but a second video doing well is always a good sign. It seems like we generally have better success from actresses whose second release does better than their first, so hopefully Mai turns out to be good. Who knows, maybe Mai will sneak into my 2021 debut series later this year, we'll just have to wait and see.

Lika Mai above, Fuua Kaede is someone who jumped up a ton of spots after her second release. I'm sure it's easy to get overshadowed at S1, there are seven other S1 actresses just on this top 25 list alone! That being said, S1 seems to always have plenty of room for new actresses and Fuua is certainly make a case for herself. Her latest video has nothing special aside from one maid outfit, but I guess that could be enough to tip the scales. Also like Mai, I'm not quite ready to give her a watch, but who knows. Maybe I can do a whole week's worth of S1 actress debuts, lord knows they have the actresses to support it. Only time will tell but I'll certainly keep my eye out on her.

I'm continually impressed by Saeko consistently doing well on the charts. She isn't quite the big name someone like Asahi Mizuno is which makes it all the more impressive that a year later she's still doing insanely well. She's in compilation videos going on sale left and right, whether it's only Saeko videos or alongside others like Minori Hatsune. Either way, I'll keep remembering to plug her a bunch because I think she was really underrated when she was active. Whatever you decide to grab, whether a solo compilation, multi-actress compilation, or individual releases, you should definitely be grabbing something.

So maybe Tsukasa Aoi isn't the first name I think of when it comes to S1, that's kind of understandable with how many good actresses they have. I'd love to say her cameo in the Naked Director series on Netflix is helping her popularity but in all honesty she's a big name in her own right and it probably means squat. It can be hard to compete with others in the door but at least they're taking a slightly different approach this time. Rather than the generic esthetician release it seems like they're adding some spice with her never letting go and doing some post-nut masturbation. I'll let others decide how much they like that concept but either way I'm a fan of changing up the formula a bit. I can't see that it was her latest that was selling well last month which is something you come to expect from actresses that aren't consistently on the charts. It could be a new release that people fancy, it could also just be some sales of older releases that fans are happy to pick up cheaply. When you're talking about someone who is generally a top 100 actress it's super easy for them to just creep up on the list any month.

Karen Kaede isn't someone I'm much of a fan of but I can hardly complain with this particular plot in VR. It's great when it's not in VR and I can see it actually translating quite well into VR. The story goes that you miss the last train home and your female boss offers to let you crash at her place. All's fine and well until she comes out in her loose-fitting clothes for bed and one thing leads to another. Typically it also tries to highlight the guy being in a relationship and simultaneously wanting it and not wanting it. There doesn't have to be a lot of movement and that loose-clothing theme would probably work wonderfully in VR. Again, I've seen a few in this series that have been quite nice and I'd recommend checking it out in VR.

Karen Yuzuriha is someone who is really turning out to be a good debut. I've already finished up my review of her but I'll let you all wait to find out what I really think of her. That being said, I've had other people I know say wonderful things about her, which would line up with the results we're seeing from the sales. In fact, Fried Chikan and Panking both already commented on her. Again, I'm holding off on my report until later on but hopefully one of these two can convince you to join the rest of the fans adoring her.

Aika Yamagishi is always someone doing well and I think a lot of that comes down to how good of a performer she can be. It's no surprise that her teaming up with director Nao Masaki to do a fan appreciation home visit video would turn out quite well. Nao would be sure to make the content interesting, something those videos often lack, and Aika would be sure to make a great time of it. If you're looking for that style of video or an Aika video, it definitely seems like something to take a peek at. I'm also now realizing that Aika and her good friend Akari Mitani have both done various things with Nao Masaki, and hopefully we can see them together in a video directed by Nao. We've seen Akari with Kurea and I could only expect similarly great things with Aika and Akari. If the JAV gods are listening, please make it happen!

Mayuki is someone I wish I was more of a fan of, like the rest of the crowd. She's actually got a pretty nice body, definitely too nice to ignore. While I don't watch her nearly as much as I should I suppose her August release is one to take a look at. It's got a theme where you're cheating on your girlfriend with someone close to her, which is probably my favourite theme in all of JAV. Even if it's not quite GES I can't imagine it not being worth a watch. This is the second entry in this series and the actress plays the girlfriend's best friend. I certainly hope Kawaii will keep this up because I'd love to see more of that sort of theme going on. Even if they don't have much of an exclusive roster, actresses like Ruka Inaba, Ena Koume, and Hana Himesaki have worked for them in the not too distant past, and I'll be damned if I wouldn't enjoy each of them in this. At any rate, I'll take the win with Mayuki starring in it and hope for the best from a new version of GES.

Maria Nagai definitely seems like the kind of actress that would do better among western fans, just look at those proportions. Panking recently wrote a post titled Top 10 Most Photoshopped JAV Covers, and while I think most people are looking at this one expecting it to be shopped, Maria really does have some silly proportions. I find I'm sometimes turned off by them because they're that crazy but at the same time they can look oh so good in certain positions. That video linked above shows up further down the list as fans were going crazy for it so if you're hankering for a Maria video, that would be the one.

Yuria has really started doing well for herself, really coming into her own. While at first there were the obvious comparisons to Hitomi because of her massive M-Cup boobs, I think we've gotten past that and seen what she can offer. She's a lot more ambitious as a freelancer, even going as far as doing multiple anal videos. I think one thing that stands out to me about Yuria is her willingness to work with others. While Hitomi's always doing her solo thing at Oppai (which is probably more the studio or agency's doing), Yuria has much more flexibility. Even though these two videos technically released in September they're a good highlight of what Yuria can bring to the table. Working with Nenne Ui and Nanami Matsumoto it's hard not to be interested in her content. If you're also a fan of the glasses look there's plenty of those to go around in these videos.

Top Videos

Saika Kawakita continues to impress the way people expected she would. I'm really curious to see where she lands on the yearly sales because she's been up at the top of the charts pretty consistently, and often with multiple releases. Two on this list and one each on two different lists below, which I think is quite incredible. She's hanging in with the big guns like Rara Anzai, which is no easy feat. Retaining the first place spot she had is pretty incredible and it seems like the sky is the limit for her. I mean seriously, can S1 not do well for a month just to give some others a chance? We might have to start calling this the "Sa1es Post" to joke about it. If you haven't checked her out yet I think the jury's conclusion is you should definitely do so.

Momo playing a schoolgirl has always been a good time in my experience. She just brings a spunk that goes along quite well with it, something I pointed in a blog post about her. With how good she can be and how great she can make schoolgirl videos, I'd be all over this one. It looks really great and even has creampies to boot, something Momo started doing not too long ago. If you're a Momo fan I think this is an easy pick, and if you're not then this is probably the perfect time to take a look.

Okay you know I've got to talk about the third place release, it's so unique on so many levels that it just warrants some discussion. To start off, yes, all the women wear masks that cover their face. The goal is to make them anonymous and focus on their bodies instead. And yes, everyone has banging bodies like the cover has. The video is a compilation of all their releases and it has over 2000 minutes of content. While the actresses aren't officially listed on sources there's a ton of great actresses there, like Honoka Orihara, Nina Nishimura, and Shiori Tsukada. Though they never take off their masks that's not really that bothersome since their bodies more than make up for it. There's also something hot about objectifying them the way that the masks do. When they're really rough with them (and I mean that, they even stand on their heads during doggy sometimes) or cum all over that black mask, it's really a unique experience. Even at a normal price of $22.56 USD, you're paying only $0.60/hour, which I think is a steal. If you're like me and you just want to see some curvy women get railed this might just be for you.

Our eight place video stars Rena Momozono and it's not a half bad video. If you're looking for someone a little spunky in a fun video this is a solid choice. I really can say that cover isn't a bamboozle and if you can get behind some school fair cosplay content, you'll definitely have a good time. Rena's also someone to generally keep in mind, she redebuted a year ago and has been doing pretty well for herself. The fact this video has stayed on the charts for a while and can even make a bit of a push is nice to see. I can see her improving and she's still doing well for herself considering she's also the fifth place DVD release this month. The fifth place video has some cum swallowing as well, so if you're up for something a little more nasty and more recent, that could also be a good choice. Either way, Rena is a good choice and I encourage readers to check her out.

In first (and second) place this month we've got Momo Aoki. She's listed as a 170cm swimmer and the video makes every effort to focus on her being a swimmer. There's a ton of promotional content focusing on the fact she's a swimmer, something I quite like. So many of these videos tend to use those as gimmicks, but with how much they're promoting it that doesn't feel like it's the case. It's hard to say what kind of longevity someone like her will have, and I know a lot of similar actresses tend to fizzle out quickly. Regardless, a lot of people have bought into the hype and hopefully it's good.

In third and fifth place we've got Nanami Ogura, a new debut for S1. We generally have pretty good results from S1 debuts so whenever an S1 debut is showing up at the top of the charts it's a good idea to pay attention. Her tits remind me a lot of Yua Mikami's, which I think a lot of people will agree puts her in good company. Unfortunately she's debuting quite late into the year which means there's a good chance I won't get to her in time for the debut posts this year, so if she's panning out there's perhaps early next year to take a look.

As much as I try to avoid talking about Rara every month it's just so hard not to when she's always up at the top. What can I say, when you're that hot and that busty people are going to watch your videos. It doesn't even matter if they skimp out on a theme or Rara is an awful performer, it's hard not to get hard just looking at the cover. I always find myself trying to exercise caution watching Rara videos knowing I'll be disappointed, but at the same time I can only look at those beauties so many times before I cave. I can see I'm also not the only one in that boat since Pan's August Takes listed it as being quite abysmal but the sales suggest otherwise. I'll take Pan's word on it that it's bad and not worth the watch but I guess those of us using our heads instead of our penises to pick videos are probably in the minority.

If you're looking for a VR film to watch Yua's is a decent choice. It's nothing that will blow your mind but I find VR rarely is that good. So the story goes, Yua is the new employee and decides to seduce you to get a bit ahead. I'm always a fan of more dominant performances in an industry that has so much submissive content going on. I thought the best part of this one was how good the variety of sex was, there was a whole bunch of it and with missionary, cowgirl, and even doggy, I felt like it just had so much to like. There's definitely plenty of other Yua videos if you're not into VR, but if you're into VR and Yua, this is a solid choice.
