Hey everyone, welcome to the June Sales Report. Before getting into it let's just briefly go over what's going on at R18. Some of you may have noticed that there's a huge system notice up at the top as you can see below.

Things are going on with payments there and there are a lot of questions as to the future of R18. The important thing is that it does appear to be having some affect on the data we're seeing. Who knows how big of a deal it will be over the coming months but we'll still write the reports until something has to give. If you're curious about more, fellow blogger vienna has more to say about it.

Something you don't clearly see is that they've also stopped adding new releases. Non Ohana's VR shown above is the most recent video they have, from June 1st. It's crazy to think that the site is on the verge of collapse but such is where we are. I guess it's at least good for the industry that R18 represents such a small slice of the pie that it won't drastically change anything for them.

With that said let's jump into this month's report.

Top Actresses

Did someone call up DMM and make a deal to get S1 at the top? I don't know what happened (probably sales) but we've got a whopping 11 S1 actresses in our top 25. Even by S1 standards that's pretty significant, especially with all four of the top spots. The few at the top shouldn't be too surprising, Saika, Ria, and Yua were all in our top 10 last month and have been staples lately. All of the others are actresses we've seen on various lists as well so it's not as if any of them making it there are surprising. If you look down at other lists there's an additional few names on the list bringing us up to over 15 different S1 actresses featured in the top 25 of the three lists. Even with some mega sales that's still quite impressive. Among them I'd like to point out Konan, who made both this list and the digital sales list. Konan is an actress from last year that I've been enjoying more and more. While Konan hasn't been my favourite debut from last year (that spot is reserved for Rino Yuki) I've been enjoying her more and more as time goes on and it wouldn't surprise me if she settled in second. If you haven't seen her latest from June (featured above) it's definitely a banger and worth watching. Teaming up with Nao Masaki was obviously going to be a winner and I can definitely confirm it doesn't disappoint. Definitely don't miss out on Konan or any of the other wonderful S1 actresses topping the charts!

Non is an actress that has started to be recommended to me, and the cover I linked at the beginning of the post illustrates why. 86 F cup is right around the lower side of what I'm generally happy about but when coupled with an as that looks solid as well you've got a winning combination. I think one thing that does stand out about Non is how fast she's been rising to the top. She's actually a late 2021 debut who has over a dozen videos releasing in July. It's not unheard of to pop off and spike your release count like this, we saw our 25th place finisher Hana Himesaki do exactly that not too long ago, but it always stands out when someone does it. Non is someone who appears to have a very bright future ahead of her considering she's getting a lot of videos from good studios and not just the B or C tier dregs. There's quite a few interesting looking titles and my friends are probably right that I should be watching her.

Another up in a top spot is Mio Ishikawa, in fact she has the highest non-S1 spot in 5th place. Coming from second place it looks like she only got bumped off because of whatever S1 sales there might have been. I know I've pointed out with her before how her debut was marketing her as a diamond in the rough and I feel like that's been a pretty good choice for them. I think she's right at this level where she could be very attractive but still has this quaint, girl nextdoor vibe to her that they can sell. Regardless, Mio starred in her first image video last month and something tells me this isn't the last.

Amidst all the S1 on the sales report this month we have Ichika Matsumoto remaining in first. To say she's the industry's favourite right now would be a bit of an understatement. She dropped from first to 11th in physical sales last year but on the digital side has remained a rock, being in first every month this year except February when she was temporarily second due to Unpai's popularity, and before then you have to go back to July (where she dipped to second). So, for literally the last year, she was first in digital sales except for once where she dropped to second. Anyway, this June release actually screams Ichika vibes to me. Ichika seems to do best when she's playing a "not so innocent" role preying on the younger vibes she puts out with the more dominant personality she's capable of mustering. That foot in your face on the cover just screams Ichika to me and I'm sure her fans had a blast with that one.

Keeping on the S1 trend we have Yura Kano in 10th place after jumping basically the entire list. Yura is an actress fellow blogger FC recently got me to watch and I must say I was not too impressed, definitely not the way people this month were. I think one big thing the massive sales for S1 this month highlights is the surprising variety that exists at S1. While you've always got a pile of newcomers every year, and extremely highly rated ones as well, you also have a lot of veterans doing well. The digital sales alone show you names like Tsukasa Aoi and Saki Okuda who have 10+ year careers and then actresses like Konan Koyoi who debuted just last year. Or if you want to slice it differently you've got someone like Saika Kawakita at E cup all the way to Konan Koyoi at H cup. I think people tend to look at S1 as though there's a particular vibe among their actresses, and while I don't disagree that many of these actresses still fit that vibe, I'm merely pointing out that the vibe is a little bit more varied than you might think. Even Yura Kano shows some variety when she's someone at the five year mark who has staying power as well. You can basically never go wrong with S1 and Yua might be a great pick to spice it up this month.

Barely holding on to a top spot is Himari Kinoshita in 24th place. Himari is an actress I recently checked out and the one big thing I can say about her is that she has one hell of an ass. I suppose if you didn't know then her cover above is a good reminder of it. She's paired up with Alice Otsu in this one, someone I also wrote about recently as well who also has an insanely nice ass. I think actress pairings that are very similar go a long way and Alice's ass certainly pairs well. Alice is someone that can be difficult to pair with because of her short blonde hair so I think most people find success in pairing with other qualities. I've seen her pair well based on things like squirting or deepthroating but pairing with Himari's ass seems like a no brainer to me. I mean, how can you go wrong with a pair like that? If you're still on the fence about either of them (or both of them) I'm going to guess that this one is worth watching based on the awesome screenshots.

Once again we've got S1 actresses to talk about and why not start with Miharu. While she's only fourth on this list (out of eight) she's got one hell of a jump at 74 spots. Miharu is someone who never quite reached the very top of heights at S1 and is also someone who won't since she recently announced her retirement. I think the cover of her most popular video shows everything you need to know about her: pretty face and big boobs. That's almost certainly a winning combination regardless of who you are though and also seems to highlight why it can be difficult to stand out at S1. When you have to compete with insanely popular actresses like Yua Mikami and Rara Anzai on top of all the busty new debuts they have every year, like Konan Koyoi last year and Mirei Shinonome this year, of course it's going to be tough. At any rate, that video is one of the last Miharu videos we'll ever get so it's a mighty fine choice to get one of your last fixes of her.

Yumi Kazama is a name I know we almost never talk about because rarely does she ever make the top part of the list. At the same time I feel like Yumi is a household name that doesn't really need any introduction. She's been around as long as anyone can remember and that longevity has been a huge part of her identity. As someone who's been a fan of her for a long time I've noticed that she seems past her prime now. While it's unfortunate to see someone like her not being as nice as she used to be it's something you come to expect eventually. Not every actress goes out on top, especially when you're willing to continue into your 40s (with no signs of stopping any time soon). You can tell how plump Yumi has gotten in her covers and I have quite mixed feelings about it. While her boobs being bigger is something I'm not going to complain about she's gained more than a COVID 15 in an unflattering way. Still, it's nice to see people haven't totally forgot about her and her video for next month looks like it has some real potential.

Arina is a name we see sporadically on the charts. I think she's nicer than the charts give her credit for being and if anything it's a matter of Faleno just not being quite as good as S1. I doubt people have forgotten but in case you have Arina was one of S1's top actresses before Faleno came along. I'd bet anything that Arina's seeing some success this month because of her former time at S1, and other former S1 actresses appear to be seeing the same success. One of the things I've personally always known Arina for is her long legs and some of these covers touch really nicely on them. Arina's also been known for an ability to squirt, definitely a rarity at S1. It's always nice to see actresses at S1 find a way to stand out because I find the number of actresses they have in their door can make it hard to stand out. Arina is definitely a great pick if you're interested in some Faleno content or some older S1 stuff.

Top Videos

In 6th place we've got Ria Yamate's first image video. It's a bit surprising it's with Air Control instead of Rebecca given that Rebecca seems to be the major player but kudos to Air Control for nabbing her first. We've seen her all over the sales reports and this won't be the last. I think an image video is a perfect spot for her right now because it can focus more on her body than a normal video can. Normal videos tend to require an actress to perform but when they're not having sex and not even speaking, well, you mitigate a lot of the poor performing skills that traditionally hurt newcomers (at least in my opinion). That's not to say you don't act at all in something like this but the discrepancy between a bad and a great performance is fairly minimal. Hopefully Ria and her 99cm I cup tits (as the cover points out) have many more IVs to come because that body is killer and worth every second of air time.

In 9th we've got quite the pair in Aika Yamagishi and Mayuki Itou. It's a bit of a surprising video considering it's Aika on loan to Premium to make it happen but I'm all for these cross-studio ventures. This is an entry that you really need to look at bit closer at, because while the surface makes it seem like a simple masseuse theme it's got a lot spicier content than that. Even though I never really got into Mayuki (and don't ask me why, I don't really know) I'm quite excited about this one. Aika's Beauty Venus 5 video is a banger and if this is anything close to that we're in for a real treat. The screenshots look exactly like the kind of content I want to see and hopefully it turns out to be everything it promises to be.

In our top two spots we have two magic mirror bus entries, including a huge compilation video. Magic mirror is one of those "only in Japan" type series that have a wacky game show feeling to them. The overarching premise is simple: sex in a bus that has a one-way window. People from outside can't see in but people inside can see everyone walking around outside. The actual premise of each entry changes but it's all premised on this public exhibitionist sort of feeling. It's not a series that I'm overly fond of but at the same time it is something that's unique and interesting. I find unique and interesting are worth watching at least once to see if you like it and how can you go wrong with SDMM-113? It's a giant collection of them, nearly 1000 minutes long, and it's sure to have a wide range of content to get you excited.

I've written about Saika a bunch because, well, she always seems to be at the top of the charts. I don't know how she does it but here she is, plain as day, in four of the top 10 spots. I know I've most recently commented on her VR and it's nice to see her more recent VR show up on the list. She actually has a June VR release as well and I'll be curious to see if it makes the list next month. All I know is that if you're investing I'm pretty sure Saika is at an all time high and shows no signs of slowing down.

In first place we have Rin Hachimitsu, a surprising debut to me. She's not surprising because I recognize her from somewhere else or looks like she's out of place but surprising that she's debuting for Idea Pocket. I think facially she fits their idol look but someone as busty as her (at 95H) is quite unusual for Idea Pocket. I think the next biggest is probably Momo at 90G, which while isn't that much smaller is still enough that I noticed. In reality it's probably the shape of her boobs that make her stand out, reminding me of Ai Kano's huge but fake boobs. I would bet on Rin's being fake based on the shape, not having seen any of the content itself but who knows. I'll be sure to check back in at the end of the year and see how Rin is coming along.

This is a bit of a standout cover with her pink hair and headphones on. It doesn't look like quite like a Super Sonico cosplay with a different style of headphones but it's close enough that I'd forgive anyone who looked at this because they were a fan. Literally named Ichika Sensei, the cover claims she's got 170k followers on TikTok to go along with her large G cup boobs. I can't say that we've had great success with social media people lately (looking at you Unpai) but this video also doesn't look like it's skimping out the way Unpai's debut did. It at least stands out and I'm happy about that. It looks like one of the more interesting debut videos so maybe there's hope for Faleno to turn her into a unique star.

I'm sure people have caught wind of what's going on over at R18 these days. I'm not going to dabble too much into it but we're seeing a lot of unusual titles making the top lists. This month has one from SILKU-050. You can look at the cover all you want but you'll never get a sense of what you're getting into if you're not fluent in Japanese. However, one thing you do see on the cover is 大槻ひびき, which if you know just a bit of Japanese (or Google-fu) you would see that it's Hibiki Otsuki. You'd probably never guess looking at that cover that it's her nor would you ever expect this video of hers to be the one making the rounds, but times are rough over at R18. It's also not the only one I've seen doing well there either and I wouldn't be surprised to see a few more on next month's list from what I've seen.

Another oddity this month is seeing a foreign actress on the list in 10th place. This release being on the list is interesting for so many reasons: it stars an unknown foreigner, in her only video, for a studio with only five videos (all of foreigners), that hasn't released anything in over half a year. You'd never expect something like this to make the list and yet here we are. I can only suspect the reason she's actually on here is because of whatever's going on there and who knows, maybe it will give us some more interesting content to write about.
