Aoi Kururugi has been your girlfriend for three years. But it's time to move on. You both decide that the best way to cap off the relationship is by spending one last night together fucking deep into each other's memory. 

Plot

ONEZ-236 is basically a drama work. So what's the most cost-efficient way to tell a story? Title cards, of course! The long-ass title card intro tells us that Aoi Kururugi and his boyfriend have been together for three years. However, both have become too busy with work and taking care of their dog, so they were not able to focus on the relationship. They decide to move on. The break-up is a mutual agreement, and so is their decision to fuck each other one last time in their favorite hotel. 

Don't expect heart-stopping twists in this AV, though. It's just a simple sex movie with an attempt to frame the sex as romance. We appreciate the effort though.

Sex

The sex in ONEZ-236 is practically vanilla all the way. There's the basic missionary, doggie, blowjobs, and other lovey-dovey fare. 

If you know Japanese though, you might fancy the copious talk in between the shagging. These certainly added to the movie's vanilla vibe. Even if you don't understand what they're talking about, the passionate stares and the romantic rituals in between can give vanilla fans butterflies in the stomach.

Having said that, the sex scenes themselves were rather unadventurous. You'd think that the couple would go all out on each other, but they are apparently quite conservative in the sexual department. Perhaps this is due to the theme (the characters are common office workers after all). We just think that the scenes could benefit from a little bit more spice. 

We have to give some props to Aoi Kururugi who tried to compensate with passionate sex faces. 

Production Quality

Despite the promising premises, production quality in ONEZ-236 isn't exactly K-drama-level. For instance, the title card intro is lazy, and viewers who don't like reading may be turned off right from the very start. 

There producers showed a bit of effort though. The first talking scenes were nicely done. There are night bokkeh shots, spme competent editing, and great costumes especially for Aoi-chan. Her first costume with the tights is really hot. 

Aside from that, the sex scenes and the sets are as a mediocre as it could get. The setting is just one of those dime-a-dozen hotel set-ups with questionable lighting.

verall, the whole production just feels middling and hastily done.

Overall Satisfaction

It's not everyday that we see an AV with a decent drama, but ONEZ-236's bittersweet premise is something that really pulls on the heartstrings. While production is a bit of a let-down, there is enough story here to make the sex more meaningful.

Aoi-chan's performance as a rather meek young professional in her early 20s is pretty much spot-on. It seems that she aims to make viewers easily imagine her as 'anybody's girlfriend', which explains her low-key performance. We believe that speaks much about the direction of the film as well as Aoi-chan's skills. Her male partner didn't do so bad as well.
