She was a university student, but turned to JAV

In May of 2020, there was a new debutante for a big studios that had been doxxed mere days after the announcement due to how active she was on social media before her foray into the industry.

She, surprisingly, is a graduate from a prestigious private university that had birth well-known politicians and CEOs. Based on various online sources complete with photos, she had also held the post of student council president and was a public speaker. There's tangible evidence that she had spent time working at a soapland before her JAV debut and rumored to be addicted to host clubs.

So just what is it with host clubs that could possibly drive a university graduate to become a soap girl and eventually a JAV debutante? For that I have to point to this report published in Nikkan Spa! back in 2017 on an interview with a veteran host, which the rest of this article will be based on. 

 According to what the host Keita told the female reporter, a lot of young barely-out-of-their-teens girls from the rural area of Japan came to Tokyo for the first time after gaining into one of the many universities in the capital. And it was here that she first experience the city's dazzling nightlife.

She would have been introduced to host clubs as part of a way to unwind by her peers. The girl might not have been a head turner by any chance, but this would have been the first time in her life that she would be treated like royalty.

To the host, any newcomer is a good investment for the future. So he will pay special attention to her even if she did not spend a lot for her first venture. But he can tell if he had baited her when she come back for seconds and thirds. And that is when he'll drive her into spending more and more on the drinks. 

So how much one can rake up at a host clubs ? Tens and hundreds of millions of yen in one sitting based on various postings on social media. Now, it's unlikely an ordinary Japanese girl in her 20s could have such millions in savings. So is it ethical for a host to draw blood this way ? 

 That question is complicated as the job of a host is a well paying but competitive one. There are monthly quotas in individual earnings to be met and those who don't achieve that get booted out.

So once a host discover that he had exhaust a girl of her worth, he will just give her the cold shoulder, unless she proves she is willing to spend more to get his attention. So where does she get the money ? There are many outlet she can resort to going to in trying to earn her millions in yen. Soapland is one of those, JAV is another. To the host, it doesn't matter. 

But do those girl finally caught up to the game the host is playing ? Some don't. Keita points out that 80% of his regular clientele are girls from the adult trade such as soapland, deliheru and of course, AV actresses. Amongst them is one that he recalls first meeting when she was a student a few years back.
