Continuing from part 1, which focused on tokusatsu 特撮 JAV, today we have four more titles, the more "serious" SciFi. Before we get on to the titles themselves, how about another long winded exposition from yours truly? What makes SciFi porn so fucking Bad (I mean good)? It gets right down to our (at least us MEN) genetic programming, we are compelled to spread out and propagate our DNA. That means (a) have sex with as many females as possible, (b) explore the unknown worlds and have sex with as many females out there as possible. Wading into the unknown carries mortal risk, but the potential reward for squirting our DNA into countless exotic wombs can overcome our survival instinct and fear of death. To boldly cum where no man has cum before.  So actually tokusatsu JAV doesn't reach that mark, we just have the aspect of childish pretension of cool and heroic, which yes, is scientifically proven to activate our libido. But serious SciFi is supposed to transport the viewer to worlds unknown, activating our programming for exploration and the sense of fear and tension. 

So this is what I seek in SciFi JAV, to be taken to exciting and dangerous explorations, a hint of fear mixed with arousal. Watch this clip from the opening minute of ABW-019 Creampie Ejaculation Enforcer Agent  one of the best in the Alt-Reality series (unfortunately Alt-Reality doesn't qualify for SciFi, see part 1) about an oppressive authority which hunt down men and forcibly relieve them of their sperm.  (if possible, play on a big screen with sound on, this clip is SFW)

What about it, isn’t that some good atmospherics to start a film?  There’s the grandness of full orchestral arrangement, the oppressive sense of dystopia.  You hear every film school student since 1977 have studied the opening minutes of Star Wars? Well it's a bit of that feeling when I pop on this title.  As the scene continues Kawai Asuna sucks each of the three prisoners, but instead of being aroused by serial blowjobs (with finishes), I feel horror and pity, as if the prisoners were being temporarily castrated.  That's the power of a good SciFi porno.  Let's get on with the first of the four titles:

GIRO-94 Machine Gun Special Agent Gunsaivor Bus-jack

If you cross Japanese action thriller with Hollywood classic Speed (1994) and turn it into bus chikan JAV, you’d get the GIGA production Machine Gun Special Agent Gunsaivor (2015).  As usual, I watched and enjoyed this title without parsing the title and blurb. But it turns out reading the blurb was helpful, as the plot line was a bit twisted. 

Yuika Takashima 高嶋ゆいか (who unfortunately committed suicide in 2018, may she rests in peace) played the titular Gunsaivor (most website translate the katakana ガンセイバー as Gunsaber but the cover English reads Gunsaivor, which is probably a misspelling of Gun-Savior).  In the first scene she was called to an active crime scene and single handedly took down a whole gang of terror organization Mad Clowns.  The action scene was shot with passion and guts as the small-frame Takashima did a great job of sneaking, talking on radio, running, dashing, rolling, melee combat and gunplay.  And the director provided a few fan service shots, especially focussing on her well toned buttocks and a glimpse of her cleavage. As per standard for Japanese action shows, cool static poses (with bonus low angle fan service) are as important as dynamic actions.  

Then after some transitional exposition, Yuika rides a bus, and right there she was being still in her uniform.  The scene gave us a good look at her excellent figure and soft white skin.  After some prolonged fondling we found out the molestation was actually only happening in her head as she was playing with herself on the bus.  

Then some more transition/development/exposition, not really worth paying attention to, but very important that it’s present.  The point being Mad Clowns is taking revenge on Gunsaivor, and setting up the final scene.  The bad guys had set up a bomb on a bus, and Gunsaivor Yuika, after a corny motorcycle chase (with fan service) board the bus to deal with the situation.  But Mad Clowns has the upper hand, and compelled the bus passengers and Yuika to act out various deprived acts.  She was made to suck cocks and passengers (with a smile) were made to finger fuck her and bang her with their rather massive cocks.  

The whole film was rather short by JAV standard.  Only 60 minutes for the main feature plus 25 minutes of behind the scene extras.  The extras are quite excellent as we see how the cast and crew choreographed the various fighting and action scenes.  In many ways the SciFi element is a little on the weak side as GIGA is a one-trick pony of abusing beautiful women in heroine costumes.  But there aren't many choice in SciFi JAV so this one made the list, and honestly, it does stand up to repeated viewing. 

MIAD-410 Eros Galaxy & MIRD-030 Reverse Eros Galaxy

In 2008, all of Japan was abuzz as JSA's Kibo laboratory was preparing to be launched and attached to the International Space Station. To celebrate the achievement, Moodyz adapted their annual grand orgy (Bus Tour) to the space theme.  These two titles from the SD era (in 4:3 not 16:9 aspect ratio), released by Moodyz 14 months apart, starred the exact same cast of seven busty hotties (including Yumi Kazama 風間ゆみ who is still active as of today, busty idol Nana Aoyama, and red hot idol of a generation @YOU).  So I suspect they were actually filmed on the same dates, and spliced into two full length titles (a whopping 300 minutes for the first title) and patiently waited over a year to capture more revenues to recover the production cost.

In a strict sense this is not even qualified for a fucking SciFi.  There is absolutely no story to speak of, no setup. Just a spaceship and seven busty ladies onboard to fuck the brains out of the nameless male crew. It's essentially a standard grand orgy title, which is fucking fantastic, you know.  But it would not have qualified to be included in this list if not for one big SciFi element, which might be easily overlooked by fans due to the understandable distraction of so many awesome busty ladies. 

The spacesuits, as simple as pink and red spandex with some decorations and large convenient holes for access to tits and pussies, were reasonably well done as SciFi costume.  The spaceship exterior was a very cheap and very brief CGI, but the interior, oh, my, it would be the dream of many film school graduate to work in such a set, with lights, buttons, handles, and panels.  Even hexagonal corridors with sliding doors.  Unless you have a Hollywood A-movie budget, this is as good as you can wish for, even for a serious SciFi movie or TV series.  I seem to remember there were some camera tricks employed to fake some zero-gravity shots.  But I can't find such footage now (was I dreaming?)

SDDE-609 From today, you enlist with Sexual Defense Force 2169 Space Battleship powered by intercourse with female crew to defend Earth!

The setup of this title is very specific and it really helps (for foreign viewers) to know it. It is set up as a SciFi themed "Gal Game" ギャルゲーム.  This explains the rather awkward title. Sumire Kurokawa plays the Captain and Waka Misono plays the ship pilot, and you as the viewer (really player) plays a new recruit, a virgin spaceman newly deployed to a spaceship clearly referencing Space Battleship Yamato, which in turn reference the glorious Imperial Japanese Navy before and during WWII. Also following real life Self Defense Force, which is renamed Earth Defense Force (EDF) in countless anime, manga and games, the military in this title is also named EDF, but later in the story will be renamed Sexual Defense Force (quite conveniently shortens to SDF as well).

As usual for JAV with with a budget for the non-sex scenes, most of it is expanded in world-building at the beginning.  In this case, lasting a huge 22 minutes, we get to establish some characters, especially "you" as a worthless cherry boy weak in both body and mind.  In addition to the two females and yourself, there are two more male characters who don't participate in the sex scene, and whose roles are purely supporting the SciFi story. With some excellent costumes, instruments scavenged from high school dumpster diving, passable acting and corny military-technobabble dialogs the SciFi component is quite awesome and campy (again only in the context of a JAV). I must give special mention to both Sumire Kurokawa and Waka Misono. Kurokawa's look could easily pass as moe or even idol, but she worked hard on the gravitas of a flagship captain. Misono being busty and supple could also look more boin than brain. Likewise, her acting skill as ace pilot and gunner is more than serviceable.  

A super awesome aspect is that the sexual intercourse is tightly woven into the SciFi adventure. The ship has a secret super weapon that operates on sexual energy released at the moment of orgasm. So when You squirt, the weapon shoots. The scene could have been done even better if the director were to cut a few times away from the cock-sucking and pussy-pumping actions to the external space battle and have the rest of the crew in distress and yelling for the fuckers to cum faster and harder. (Remember the final climax of The Matrix (1999) as the creepy tentacle monsters violate the Nebuchadnezzar, Trinity saved the day by sticking her tongue down Neo's throat)  Anyway, with production budget already stretched and director being a bit timid deviating from JAV norms, it was still some good sex scenes. Also quite unfortunately the title could have done wonders with a 3P threesome as a finale, but instead the gal-game formula was followed too strictly so you only get a series of one-on-one sex. 

My deepest most heartfelt complaint of the title is that, as a gal-game, the one stud of the film, you, is an anti-hero.  While I don't want to diss an entire genre and all its fans, it must be said that the core deadhard fanbase of galgame is a group of otaku dysfunctional both socially and psychologically.  SDF 2169 took the trouble to make every single on-screen character (except You) intelligent, competent, heroic and brave.  But You have ZERO redeeming quality, You have done nothing to earn the pussies and become the lone male survivor. Even when all of humanity depends on it, you are a bit shy and reluctant to pull out your little penis and stick it into the awaiting moist orifices of the beautiful Kurokawa and Misono. Instead of giving some fantasy of super powers and great responsibilities, galgames give the core base of lifelong losers glory and harlem sex without asking the fan to even imagine shredding his loser qualities. Come to think of it, the whole film is built on the foundation of Neon Genesis Evangelion psychosis. (oh let the hate mails rain down on me)

Final Shot

When I had the idea of execellent baddest fucking SciFi JAV, I was quite eager to introduce 3 or 4 of my all time favorite JAV, then 4 became 6, 7 and finally 8 titles. But after re-watching all the titles, it seems my positive impression were not fully justified. The problem is that SciFi JAV are so rare that I would get very excited about even barely above average titles. But in reality, there is a universal law governing all JAV: the Conversation of Mediocrity, you never find a JAV title which is outstanding and awesome in every aspect. In this list, we have an entry criteria being production and theme, so that means we can't expect top idols and story/plot to be excellent. But that's a universal problem for all JAV. SDDE-609 came closest to my vision of a perfect SciFi JAV, only problem being the POV anti-hero gal-game formula starring a total loser. I wonder... with the parody genre in Western porn... it's probably one area that JAV is a bit interior by comparison. Keep an eye out, some day... one day we will get some awesome SciFi JAV!
