Physical

Physically I thought Karen was okay. Nothing special as a whole but I wouldn't blame anyone for liking her. Getting into the details:

First off her face was pretty solid. She absolutely looked like she does on her Oppai cover, something I consider a good thing. It's always nice to see that she actually matches and that there isn't some crazy photoshop going on. At times I felt like I enjoyed her face and found her decently pretty and then at other times I felt like something was a bit off. I think perhaps it was the nose or the shape of her eyes but I'm not too sure.

Karen's boobs are listed as being quite big, 96cm H Cup. Those are some pretty big ones if you ask me but size isn't everything. The big thing with Karen's boobs is that they are fake. I'm not one for fake boobs, especially of the bolt-on variety. While they aren't quite as jarring around the edges as some bolt-ons can be I just wasn't much of a fan. I'd much rather take a pair of real tits and with lots of other debuts having similarly sized boobs (Kaoru Yasui and Risa Dan come to mind easily) I just don't care for Karen's.

Karen's ass wasn't particularly nice. It's an ass and you'll watch it all the same but you won't find it stands out particularly well. A lot of actresses have pretty decent asses and Karen's just wasn't anywhere near others.

Karen's body was fairly nice, on the slim side with slim limbs as well. I would say her body was very reminiscent of someone like Momo Sakura. Do I wish there was more meat? Sure. Do I think she was too thin? Not at all. Something tells me it won't be my favourite body of all the debuts but I'd be surprised if it wasn't one of the better ones. She was also clean shaven, which for a debut at her age isn't surprising these days.

Performing

As a performer Karen was decent. I think she got a boost from a series that gives her such clear opportunities to act, but at the same time the video has a lot of expectations considering it has some amazing performances among the entries. There were times where I felt like her expressions fell quite flat, especially in some pivotal moments earlier on. This seemed especially true when compared to the more vibrant expressions some true pros have done in similar situations. She clearly understood what to do just not how to do it. I can't say I know which is worse and I feel like perhaps as time goes on she'll become more relaxed and let some more natural expressions come out.

There were some times where Karen's performing was fairly good, especially during the ending. Like I said, she clearly understood what to do. Knowing to interact with her sister and have fun with the ending are really big things for that series. There are very few endings I consider to be better than Karen's so she was definitely in good company there. I especially liked the facial expression she had during the middle while riding. That mixture between smiling and letting the pleasure show, while staring down her sister, was really quite hot.

I always try to spot the little things that add up and Karen swallowing was a nice little addition. It came out of left field considering the video didn't need it but I'll take whatever I can get. That sort of little thing is what makes an actress have some promise. Can we get a gokkun video at some point? I definitely hope so.

Considering the video I watched I figured I'd also share a clip of her titty fucking skills, or perhaps I should say lack there of. She was quite poor in that department for some reason and I don't think it was the size of her tits. I think she was just not particularly adept at it, utilizing far more of her hands than were necessary. It felt like she didn't have much experience and she leaned into blowjobs a lot more than you would have expected. I almost get the sense that she's not particularly enthusiastic about her fake tits, and I wonder if her being in a section of the industry where a lot of women have nice boobs that she feels a bit overshadowed by them.

Video Review

The video I watched was from Oppai's GES series. It is by far my favourite series and I knew it was going to be the video I watched as soon as I saw her announced for it. It is a fairly demanding series in terms of performing skills, so we'd get a very good idea of what she's capable of off the bat.

As a performer Karen was just okay. She had some times where she wasn't half bad and then other times where she was a little flat. I think the big thing for me with her performance was that she had far too many moments she flubbed with dead expressions. A grin can go a long way in a series like this and with Karen often not expressing herself I was quite disappointed in those moments. For all the bad there was perhaps equally as many solid expressions from her. It felt like it was a coin toss on whether she'd perform the way you hoped. The tipping point for me was that Karen was never truly leading the show and was often just going along with the content.

From a directing standing the video was around average. The intro wasn't particularly good as it was haphazardly thrown together. The ending was good, although most of that was off the back of Karen's performing turning around. I thought the riskiness was about average, a couple of scenes with risk in the middle of it. For example, in the bathtub scene her sister came looking for her boyfriend who was getting a blowjob from Karen.

Career

Karen got off to a bit of a slow start but she started picking up down the line. After her fourth video she started climbing the charts and really becoming a force to be reckoned with. I think the steady stream of videos for Oppai when coupled with other studios suits her well. It feels a lot like what Julia is doing where she's working with the same few studios but the variety gives enough to make things interesting. Especially working along side another actress, even if Rika Aimi isn't the most popular actress out there, it's still a great sign. I've also heard very good things about her Moodyz release linked above (the second listed video) and it does inspire a bit of confidence that she appears to be winning over a lot of fans.

Verdict

Rating - C

It is unlikely I will watch them again but if the right content comes around I'm open to it.

Overall I'm not super keen on Karen. She strikes me as someone whose career you really need to watch to see how it shapes up. There's equally as likely a chance she breaks out and becomes some freelancing star (like Hana Himesaki from last year) as there is the chance she becomes just another random name. Honestly I wonder if a studio like Oppai would take her on as an exclusive, especially since they're lacking in that department. I think she has a lot of potential there if she can keep selling well and I get the sense she would do well releasing once a month. I would far sooner see her not be exclusive at Oppai because it will limit her but I think she might relish the opportunity to not have so much pressure. Karen certainly has some potential though and who knows, maybe the right release will come along that will light a fire within her. Either way, she just isn't for me until something special comes out, but if she keeps releasing things that people say are great then that might be sooner rather than later.
