AV Draft 2023: Nao Masaki, Samoari, Rena Aoi

For our panel, the pool has expanded from just directors to other insiders within the AV industry. The first pick goes to Nao Masaki 真咲南朋, a former AV actress who has become one of the best directors in the business and best known for her slut content. The second pick goes to the Nipple man himself with Samoari さもあり, who is also known for his slutty women video but also for having very submissive and M-type men. Then we welcome AV Producer NOA-RUKA ノアルカ with the third pick. After that, we get the host of the event with AV Writer Katsutoshi Kochi 東風 克智. Then we have a director specializing in hardcore S&M style videos with Takuan 沢庵. Finally at the last pick order is the newbie director but longtime on-screen talent Rena Aoi.

Nao’s second pick goes to Ayaka Mochizuki, with whom she likes to work. Ayaka is someone who is game for anything and Nao likes to use her, particularly for lesbian videos, and because she brings out the energy in other women. They call her a weirdo and say that she tweets funny things and talk about her physical strength and how strong she is (she did do Karate). They also liken her to Yumika Saeki. Nao recently done a video with her and Akari Mitani, and she described it as like “two champions from different divisions fighting for the belt." It was a wild shoot; the two went at it with each other with no instructions, and Akari even fisted Ayaka.

Next Nao talks about how she’s become a “dating director” and that all she does now is go on dates. More dating than she does in her own life. And she loves it. So her third pick goes to Yuki Yoshizawa, who surprised her when they shot a dating movie together. It was Yuki’s first time, and yet she knocked it out of the park and was so into it even staying in character when the camera was off. She treated the male actors like he was her boyfriend. Nao wasn’t expecting any of this and had a different image of Yuki before this. It was all a pleasant surprise for Nao.

Her fourth pick goes to Akari Mitani, who she had to win over Samoari in a game because he also claimed her. Nao had quite the admiration for Akari, calling her indispensable and a stable presence. Mentions how much prettier she has gotten over the years. Samoari chimes in with how Akari intimidates him as a director. She brings a tension to the set that makes him want to be better. He wanted to make a school trip video with her and Ichika Matsumoto. He also mentions seeing Akari with her bestie Aika Yamagishi together at an end-of-year party and how in awe he was with the two of them. Quite a few members of the panel had stories with Akari.

Nao’s final pick is Mao Hamasaki. No one tops Mao says Nao. She’ll do things without even thinking about it. She talks about shooting her with Aika Yamagishi and how Mao in the moment just decided to squirt all over Aika’s face. Personally, I don't know if she planned that moment or not. Mao's squirts like a geyser and Aika just happened to be within firing range. Then again Mao knows her squirt gun capabilities better than anyone else. The whole panel agrees; Mao is very aggressive. Nao also mentions how Mao’s outside activities have grown like her deejaying and how she’s moving on up. She was right about all that, as Mao has announced her retirement from porn, perhaps because of how well her DJ career has been going.

Ai Nonose is his second pick and again he goes for a rookie. A short-haired cutie who he worked with a while back. She seemed nervous the morning of but fired up with shooting. It was like she had a devil on her shoulder. He hung out with her later and learned she had quite a devilish personality. The panel all seemed to like her. Surprise surprise, his third pick was Ichika Matsumoto. That is sarcasm because she has become his muse with the pair working on dozens of videos together now. He even has to add the caveat that the 1-3 picks are meaningless and that she is second to no one. Samo calls her a true professional with undeniable charisma and has only gotten better and better with time. Despite working with her so much, she still surprises him from time to time. He calls her an AV genius. Man's got it bad.

His next pick, after losing out on Akari, is Sayuri Hayama. The reason why he picked her? He got to have a scene with her where she jerked, sucked, and even gave him a paizuri/titjob. The look on her face as she licked his nipples was too cute. (I’m not jealous at all) Finally, with his last pick, he chooses Konan Koyoi. Kind of a surprising pick and he says so himself as he doesn’t shoot a lot with busty girls. He wanted to work with her more and started to moan about the difficulties of production scheduling.

NOA’s next pick is Hibiki Natsume, whom he has not yet worked with but wants to. He loves her face and her natural and genuine seeming performances also mentions her sweating ability. Next, he picks Chiharu Mitsuha, a former idol turned AV actress. They mention her pretty natural face and how into fashion she is. Finally, he picks Noa Amano, a newer small-time name. He and the panel talk a little about her and go on a tangent about how much better the good old days were in 2017.

After that, he picks Mizuki Yayoi, who he says has it all; looks, performing ability, and charm. Calling her a genuine weirdo too, who is quite quick-witted and funny. Saying she could be an AV comedian. His next pick is Mari Koharu, aka Mari Ueto, an actress who has played mature and youthful roles thanks to her looks.

Following that, he picks Mari Koharu, who debuted as a mature type but has a youthful face. He likes her for her kind and gentle demeanor. Also notes that he saw her next to some ordinary women at an event and was struck by how much prettier AV actresses are. Next was Aya Ueha, who he interviewed and quickly became a fan of. She was very polite and well-mannered. He noted how well she interacts with her fans. Finally, he picks Ayase Ten who he has only seen her debut film but is already smitten. Describes her slender and tall build, calling her model-like. He also goes on an odd tangent about the beauty of her fingers. The most fan-like of all of the panelists.

After that, he picks another veteran Kanna Misaki. A longtime actress who he had the chance to work with for the first time recently. Like with Kana, he said it’s hard to know when she is acting or being herself. The two aren’t far off from one another in that way. The panel talks about how Kanna is given the Onee-san role a lot as well as VR videos. Koichi mentions how laid-back and casual she is even coming into an interview in sweatpants.

Takuan’s third pick is Hono Wakamiya and he started off all fixated on her sweating ability. Going on a little rant about how much she sweated and how it all gathered on her back and rolled down the curve of her back. Snapping out of his sweat fetish, he also mentions how she has a cute yet sensual appeal and talks about how natural she seemed. “I’ve been saying about other actresses, the balance between acting and naturalness is absolutely important. It’s something I value highly”. His last picks were Mei Satsuki and Maika Hiizumi. For Mei, he was surprised by how M-type she was, while Maika was a clear M-type who he wanted to work with regularly. Definitely has a type.

For Sumire’s video, she was super game. Even as the men tossed her around, Sumire kept coming back for more and told them to keep going. That attitude impressed Rena, and the others chime in about Sumire’s grit with Takuan talking about how hard she went during a deepthroating/face fucking scene. They all had good things to say about Sumire, commending her charm and that she’s a good team player. After that, Rena goes for the well-built Ruisa Totsuki. Complimenting her pretty face and her cool vibe. She mentions how Ruisa doesn’t do a lot of social media, which adds to her mystique. They talk about how she’s gotten more and more into S&M play and that she doesn’t push herself too hard and knows her limits.

Rena’s third pick goes to Non Ohana, who she starts by complimenting not her body or face but her voice. More than anything, she loves her voice and meeting Non was like meeting a voice actress-in-training. Describing it as not anime-like but very pleasant and balanced. Another panelist chimes in to say they saw one of her videos in a love hotel and complimented her beautiful breasts, body, and silky skin. Next, Rena picks Airi Kijima, a longtime star who gets some respect and admiration from the panel. One talks about being a fan of her before AV when she was doing Gravure and modeling. Finally, she picked Uta Hibino who they did a drama together, and that she was very professional.

Sadly, the stream cuts out, and we don’t get to see the rest of the picks outside of Samoari who posted his full list. Despite getting short-changed from their full lists, let’s see how each panelist made out, their type, and who has the best draft class.

Now who has the best list? Samoari’s full list is very good with a mix of rookies, star exclusives, and rising freelancers. Rena has a strong list with variety with not just exclusives and freelancers but also types. Sumire, Ruisa, and Uta can go hard while Non and Airi are more vanilla. The best draft in my opinion has to go to Nao. She drafted 3 heavyweights with Akari, Mao, and Ayaka. Ryo is a great milf on the rise, and she was right with Ryo having a great year. Yuki is the only name I’m unfamiliar with but seems like a solid milf on Madonna’s vast roster.

You not only learn a little bit about the behind the scenes talent and how they think but you can also learn about some actresses we maybe should be tuned into.
