Japan has been long known to have a penchant for weirdness. When this cultural identity leaks on to JAV, we get all sorts of creative videos that can both raise your eyebrow and then, maybe your dick. Oftentimes, we JAV fans follow actresses but sometimes, it’s prudent to follow the directors who make good movies, strange ones even.

Enter Oota Migiwa, a unique director who has proclivities towards horror, sci-fi but overall, just downright weird. Also emphatically known as "the fridge guy" due to one of his iconic covers. (Guess which one). With these weird types of people though(some would call them artists), you get these odd explorations into the unknown.. I first discovered him with bizzare covers of OMHD series, which I unfortunately cannot cover in this blog due to editorial reasons. But just check out these covers and you'll see that he's doing something very different from the majority of JAV directors. Still, his other works also feature his proclivities to the extreme, and he seems to have the directorial knowhow to make them pop.

There is some semblance of a narrative that I picked up, even if I don’t understand Japanese. As the last scientist was getting destroyed by the pack of lust crazed women, he eventually gets rescued by the captured lusty woman, who scares off the pack and allows the survivor to pet her. He then rewards her with a facial. A happy ending for this wild ride. The first and last scene, featuring the “pack” of lust crazed women are must-sees because it gets so wild(literally) with all the snarling and growling while the dicks get sucked and the pussies get fucked. Throughout the film, we see how Oota actually has some director know-how, weaving creative cinematography and a narrative journey. (Don’t expect anything close to Jurassic Park here though, this is still porn)

He made her act like a real prankster, which is quite an unflattering role with all the humiliation it involves. Luckily, Yuna is very attractive and a natural slut, so all the method acting worked out in the end.

A sci-fi themed movie where in the distant future, a mankind’s space battleship is losing its war against an alien invader. Lucky for you, The captain, played by Sumire Kurokawa, has this genius idea to create energy for the battleship by having sex with her and the ship’s pilot, Waka Misono(this is pre-glow up Waka though). Reminds me of that 2000’s anime Legend of Black Heaven: Hard Rock Save Space but instead of a rocking guitar solo powering the phallic space weapon, it's sex with Sumire and Waka. I wish they went harder on the sci-fi sets, costumes and make up, because aside from the theme, the movie a bit bland despite the creative possibilities.

The first scene is the most curious one, with some creative direction from Oota with real inspiration from 3D porn games. Some good acting from Mai Yahiro, playing a VR doll possessed by a horny man.

A Distressed Property x An Exchange Student A Strange Love Affair At A Cramped Apartment Live Action Edition

Starring June Lovejoy

Adapted from a hentai Doujin, this JAV movie presents a strange twist on “ghosting”. June Lovejoy is an exchange student who decides to rent a haunted property to save on rent. What she didn’t know is that this ghost is horny for white girl booty. As the ghostly apparition is constantly having his way with her, June slowly starts to enjoy getting reamed by ghost dick, and eventually becomes fuck buddies with the ghost. What a happy ending.

The unique part about this film is the ghost IS invisible for most of the movie except for the last scene. So plenty of creative directing by Oota to make the ghost fucking convincing with unique cinematography and editing for the theme, and a great performance by June twerking her bubbly butt to act like she’s getting fucked by a ghost. They really went all in to understand what makes the the source material creepily erotic, and made creative adjustments to their execution. Just check out the trailer to see what I mean.

Cursed Sex Doll Is Possessed With A Devilish Lust

I glanced upon this on the intro, Oota directs all the OMHD coded movies. (OM probably stands for his initials). It's one of those notorious JAV codes that take an extreme approach to dominance / objectification fetish and mix it with a weird horror-like art-house approach. Imagine the American horror film SAW…… but in Japanese porn. It’s all simulated of course, but it's cinematically treated to create some suspension of disbelief. This is actually Oota’s playground where he makes his most creative works. But it was hard to pick his OMHD titles to feature because the concepts are bordering on unpublishable in this blog(though, if you’re curious, you should look into them at your own risk).

OMHD-005 is Annabelle(a horror movie about a possessed doll) in JAV form with a twist. . Two men exploring a derelict home find Ichika, a human sized doll, in pristine form. They bring her home, only to find that she is possessed by a lust filled spirit. Ichika explores herself and her sexuality in this dark fairytale romance story. Horror tropes are all there especially when regarding Ichika's twisted origin story, although this is definitely lighter than usual for an OMHD title. I love Ichika clothed in gothic victorian costumes, devilishly taking charge over men who can’t help but succumb to her lusty charms. The last scene has her wearing a beautiful gothic white short cocktail dress, reflecting the pure love she found with one of her discoverers. I didn't quite catch the whole story, but there are elements of character development here, with a tragic ending in this odd tale.
