2024 was a big year in retirement news as several staple actresses are now graduating from AV. It’s always bittersweet news to hear that an actress is choosing to hang up the whoring gloves, but that means that the baton can be passed to the next generation. While every actress is unique and irreplaceable in their own right, there is always someone who is similar enough but with their own uniqueness ripe to be discovered. It is always good to promote new faces into the fray of stardom, and in an industry as fickle and as competitive as JAV, there are some great contenders in the mix.

Here's a look back at some of the big names in JAV who retired in 2024 or announced to be retiring in 2025… matched and compared side by side with a few up and coming actresses who could possibly take their place.

Retired in 2024: Minami Aizawa

Oh, Minami. I discovered you kind of late in the game, unfortunately for me. I don’t know why she hasn’t been in my radar considering that she is just my genre, but as soon as I checked out her stuff.
