Mashiro Mao comes back to JAV as Miura Rui. First titles out by the end of the year.

Back in July, WoodOfTheRisingSun wrote about Mashiro Mao seemingly quitting JAV work when her contract with S1 expired, in a move that he felt related to Anzai Rara's grand comeback (no matter how many times she does it, there is always some majesty to it), her shifting to fuzoku work, including the rates and detailed listings of the services she offers, and, finally, the four movies of hers released, in what seemed her definitive farewell to JAV.

Time passed, Anzai Rara is gone again, and there were no news of Mashiro.  It seemed she was gone to fuzoku for good, never to return to AV, and that her early forays were but a often-used way to promote her fuzoku career.

In fact, we have evidence dating from as late as August 7th (never unclassified before as this would have pointlessly exposed sources and methods) showing that in her mind, AV was a thing of the past. Here's what she said less that 3 months ago:

"Frankly, I won't do any more AV. Believe it or not, hours in the studio are longer than in soap, and it's not rare to get less than half the pay, so it's just a big loss, a waste of money and a waste of time.  That's why I won't release any new movies. Just the stuff I shot before. The darkness is deep in the AV world."

This seemed the end of the story, one told so many times, until she dropped the bomb: Mashiro Mao is coming back as Miura Rui, she's already shooting new contents, and we can expect new releases by the end of the year!

"I'm told by my manager I can announce my new name officially so I changed my twitter handle. You can keep calling me Mao-chan or Rui-chan the same way as before. I've moved to the Fourty Four agency. My new movies should be out by the end of the year, so please look forward to them!"

We can only speculate about the reasons that caused such a radical change of heart in so little time, given how strongly she felt that JAV was simply not worth her time. COVID-induced restrictions making her fuzoku ventures less profitable? Safety concerns? We might know at some point, but the good news for AV aficionados and Mao followers alike is that she's back, she's apparently happy about how things are going, and there are many works in the making.

In a manner befitting her previous fame as a problematic actress, and in a display of her characteristic vivaciousness, she extolled the superior competence of her managers in her new agency, Forty Four Management (that hosts names like the best-selling android of the moment, Fukada Eimi, or Takami Haruka the "5 language" ex-SOD girl with exceptional thighs and strong S performance), not without some rarely seen criticism of her earlier agency, T-Powers (house of Hibihata and many big names):

"All the managers in my new agency are so effective I'm always moved.

I've got several gigs secured already. It's amazing... I wish I'd gone to Fourty Four before. Why did I keep quarreling T-Powers instead of switching agencies? Because they'd fire me?"

As per her twitter, she's been doing the rounds of lots of studios, as expected from "new" actresses (it is customary for newcomers to visit all the studios after they join an agency, in order to introduce themselves, and then wait for movie or exclusive contract offers). Will she be an exclusive actress or a kikatan (non-exclusive solo) this time? Her initial run with S1, the rumor that she was hard to work with, and her abrupt disappearance likely do not invite any studio to bet on her for the long run with an exclusive contract. But we have better than mere guesses. Our classified intelligence operation allows us to present here two pieces of info you won't find anywhere else:

  • she has already shot a VR under her new name
  • sometime next month, she will bleach her hair for a gyaru movie, only to go back to black (that strong attractor no matter the domain) for another movie

This won't be Mashiro Mao's first VR experience: she had an earlier one with her S1 senpais Okuda Saki and Usa Miharu, in a "titty fondling pub"-themed movie that was received favorably. She was most surprised by how long it took to shoot the cover -- so long even the experienced Okuda Saki found it abnormal, as if the photographer just wanted to stare at their lovely boobs for as long as possible. I can't bring myself to condemn that thought.  A good cover image can make or break the sale, so it's normal to dedicate a lot of time (2 hours to get the perfect picture is not unusual), but if I were the photographer, the professional zeal would add to the desire to keep looking at a beautiful girl making the most suggestive poses for you.

She has also stated on twitter that she'd like to shoot her "lesbian ban lifting", so now that everything points towards her being a kikatan, we're likely to see that happen.

We don't know how long the new embodiment of Mashiro Mao as Miura Rui will last, but her newly found enthusiasm at Fourty Four Management might allow fans to hold some optimism. All we can say for now is that Mashiro Mao is bringing her luscious boobs back and the way 2020 is going that's good news for once.
