I like AIKA. I like soaplands. And I really like the harem genre of AV. So when MKMP-437 caught my eye, it seemed tailor-made for me. The sample pictures promised POV action, another favorite of mine, and an actress I'd never seen before named Kaho Imai was absolutely adorable, with a good chunk of the pictures focusing exclusively on her. The trailer didn't showcase much in the way of plot, but the sex looked good enough that I decided to give the full film a watch. And while I ended up enjoying what I got, at the same time it wasn't quite what I expected.

Appearance

I still don't know how the girls in this soapland are supposed to be Parisian, but it may be because of their sophisticated lingerie. All of the girls exude a seductive elegance, and the high-class lingerie helps to give that image a finishing touch. Indeed, during the first scene, the girls keep their panties on even as the protagonist rubs their pussies, because this is the sort of lingerie that accentuates their sexiness. Even when they ditch the lingerie for more disposable bikinis, said bikinis are glittery and colorful, and are accentuated by the floral lighting. The end result is an atmosphere that blends a dark seductiveness with a colorful sense of fun, which perfectly suits the soapland setting.

As noted above, this is the film that introduced me to Kaho Imai, and she's easily the breakout star here. She reminds me of Lauren Bacall. And while she's still too adorable to be a proper femme fatale yet, she has this sultry gaze that can arrest you at once, with the end result being someone who can instantly transition from a heart-stopping stare to a heart-melting giggle, which she uses to her full advantage.

AIKA meanwhile is in top form as always, perfectly playing the femme fatale Kaho is on her way to becoming. And while Remi ends up looking less stellar by comparison, there's no shame in coming in third to Kaho and AIKA when those two are so naturally charismatic and seductive.

Performance

The big thing that stands out with the performances in this film, and what makes it such a favorite of mine, is the attitude of the girls. The trio get down to business straight away, knowing just what the protagonist wants and cooing at his shyness as they undress him. And during the play sessions, the girls remain firmly in control of things, with the MC simply along for the ride. Even when they order the protagonist around though, the girls remain playful and teasing, rather than outright bullying. And they all have a vigorousness that keeps the play vibrant.

This is a film where the camerawork is simple, but this simplicity is there to give space for the actors to simply perform, and that's where the film shines. The direction savors every inch of the girls' bodies, as they edge the MC (and subsequently us) into enjoying every step of the play, until we can't take it anymore. And their inherent charm pulls us in, even when the camera isn't shooting in POV. Kaho especially stands out because, alongside the dominant older sister vibes AIKA and Remi give off, she manages to exude a tenderness and warmth, like she's the third, youngest sister in a fairy tale. Indeed, her solo scene remains a personal favorite of mine, solely because of how captivating she is in it.

Plot/Theme

MKMP-437 is fairly light on plot, so if you prefer your AV with interesting stories, you might not enjoy this film so much. The plot is really just the protagonist going to a soapland and taking the "harem course" he's heard the establishment offers. You know what you're in for as soon as you watch the opening montage. However, I actually quite like this, because the film understands that the best reason to go to a soapland is simply to have new and exciting experiences with beautiful women. You won't find true love and you won't have much in the way of a funny story afterwards, but if you go in just to enjoy yourself, that's exactly what you'll do. So even if the plot is barebones, the film understands why you're here and how to make the experience the best it can be.

Sex

If you're familiar with harem AV, then you probably know the formula that this film follows. There's an initial orgy with some light play (kissing, licking, fondling, etc.). Then the girls split up and service our protagonist individually or as pairs. And then we have the final reverse gangbang with hardcore fucking. There aren't a lot of crazy camera angles or out-there visuals, with the only notable camerawork being the frequent POV shots (which I admittedly appreciate). However, even though the structure of the film is strictly formula, the girls' performances are enough to make the film stand out.

If I could find something to nitpick, I personally prefer harem and threesome AV where the girls are as much into each other as they are into the guy. But while AIKA, Remi, and Kaho all have good chemistry, their interactions throughout the film are limited to friendly competition, as they try to one-up each other in pleasing the protagonist. This makes sense given the soapland setting, and as I mentioned before, the girls are charismatic enough to make every scene wonderful. And yet, even so, I found myself wanting a little more, even if it was just a single kiss between the girls. Still, if you don't mind harem AV where the girls are solely focused on the guy, this shouldn't be an issue for you.

Summary

I was hoping for some good harem action from MKMP-437, and that's certainly what I got. But the main thing that stood out to me was the performance of one actress, Kaho Imai. Even in the midst of a fantastic foursome, my focus kept shifting over to her. So while this still ranks among my favorite harem films, I mostly remember it for turning me into a Kaho fan. I hope she gets everything she wants to get out of the AV industry, and if she ever has a fan-meet in my area, I'm certainly attending.

If you like harem AV or soaplands or anything to do with Kaho Imai or AIKA, you can't go wrong with MKMP-437. And if you like all of those things, then like me, this will probably be a favorite of yours.
