One of my favorite things to see while browsing for JAVs has always been adaptations of hentai manga I’ve read before coming to life with real actresses. In this article I’ll go over five JAV titles based on hentai manga that I personally recommend, and tell you how well they're adopted from their source material.

MIMK-080 - Ruka Inaba - "Sorry, We've Sold Out" For Six Months Until The Comics Convention

This first title is based on a manga called Kanbai Shimashita by Kawasaki Tadataka. The plot of the manga is a tale of passion and drama where a sex obsessed couple, Tomoka (Ruka Inaba) and Kota, stake their financial security on creating a doujin to sell at a convention. They start out starry eyed and hopeful but when their doujin barely makes any sales they have a major argument. Spliced in with their argument is flashbacks to their happier, sexier times together. The manga ends on a hopeful note that they’ll just have to try again during Winter Comiket.

I appreciate this JAV version for adapting the scenes of drama from the manga as faithfully as the sex. The scene where Kota knocks over the box of his doujins and the other Comiket goers look down on him was done really well in particular. It isn’t oscar quality by any means but it sure is great for what it is. It should be noted for non Japanese speakers this is a JAV heavily tied into its story, you won’t see any sex until at least 12 minutes in. 

Something pretty obvious I’m sure I’ll wind up saying more than once in this article is that many of the manga that provide the source material for these JAVs are relatively short, so sex scenes will be extended with many more positions than in the original. Sometimes additional sex scenes and scenarios are also added but that isn’t the case with this one. 

Something really charming but insignificant I also noticed about this title are the incredible props. The fake doujins on the table in the Comiket scene look like they jumped right out of the pages of the manga, and the hand drawn sketch of the character from the fake doujin must have been provided by Kawasaki Tadataka himself, it was really neat to see.

Overall this is a great adaptation and you will especially get a lot more out of it if you understand Japanese. The swimsuit cosplay scene where Tomoka is seducing Kota while he’s sketching is especially great. Do yourself a favor and check this one out!

MIMK-030 - Riko Honda - Divine Creampie Discipline

Like anyone looking for a good title to pick up I’m always drawn in by an interesting cover, and the way that the cover for adaptation JAVs is always a recreation of the original manga’s cover, but in live action, is something that gets me excited and draws me in every time!  This cover in particular seriously drew my attention at first glance.

Unlike most of the source material manga on this list, Seishokusha! Nakadashi Shidou by Onikubo Hirohisa is actually pretty long. As such it only makes sense that this JAV adaptation is a long one as well, clocking in at around 180 minutes. The manga is a collection of loosely connected smaller stories ranging from themes of nurses, teachers, office ladies, and even karate instructors, but always resulting in some pretty rough sex. 

There are a lot of scenarios and they really don’t have the most complexity to them in terms of plot. The JAV adaptation takes the route of acting out four of these scenarios, all with Riko Honda playing the different female leads. This includes gang bangs, some anal play (for the male actors that is, which is lifted straight from the manga), toys, a bit of NTR, A LOT of creampies, and even a little bit of feet stuff if that’s your thing. Some scenarios included here are the Karate instructor, Office Lady, and Gym Uniform. Riko really gets a chance to show her range in one title, and she's honestly great in every role.

This one really has a little something for everyone but the bulk of it is gang bangs. Keep in mind this one can get a bit rough, but certainly not as rough as I’ve seen JAV get before. If you keep all of that in mind and are still interested I would absolutely give this one a shot, Riko handles the task of taking care of her many costars very well and it’s a delight to see. 

MUDR-049 - Ai Mukai - Female Lust (Mesudachi)

This one I recognized from the cover before even seeing the manga illustration. While looking for hentai manga to read one tag I always find myself browsing is “tomboys”, and the source material for this video, Mesudachi (sometimes found under the name “Boyish Girlfriend”), by Z-ton, is one of my favorites in this category! 

The story of the manga is pretty typical stuff, our protagonist is a boy who lives in a small village working for his father’s lumber company, and he’s been friends with our tomboy lead, Satsuki Satonaka (played by Ai Mukai in the adaptation), since their youth. Satsuki discovers a dirty magazine in his room while looking for a manga volume and teases her long time friend over it. Teasing quickly turns spicier and she gives him her virginity. The two, unsure of their relationship have sex again in the hiding spot they used to play at when they were younger. The manga ends with the main character proclaiming that Satsuki is his “Boyish Girlfriend” while she pleasures him in a gym storage room. 

Obviously when adapting a 22 page manga into a two hour JAV there will be liberties taken and content added. The quick inciting incident of Satsuki finding the porno magazines in the manga is changed to have Ai alone in the room so that she can get hot and bothered over it, leading to a masturbation scene. This scene is a welcome addition as AI does a great job of portraying the innocence of a girl who doesn’t typically do this kind of thing overtaken by the lust to do so. Two scenes with 69 and toys respectively are also welcome additions not found in the manga. The scene that ends the manga with the two in a gym storage room is also moved to a bit after the middle, with one final sex scene in the main character’s room being our finale.

I do appreciate the fact that just about all the poses from the sex scenes in the manga are replicated here. A personal favorite of mine being while Satsuki is teasing her friend, she tries to temp him with the risque move of showing just her ass to him after seeing that one of his porn magazines featured anal. Sadly in both the manga and video there are no actual anal scenes.

I think Ai Mukai does a great job at portraying the personality of Satsuki, but I do think there is an F-cup sized elephant in the room we need to address. In the manga they make a pretty big deal about the big deals on Satsuki's chest, both in size and the fact that she has inverted nipples. In the video they do replicate the inverted nipples (with a hilariously unconvincing tape effect) but Ai Mukai’s C-cups were distractingly small when compared to the manga character's larger size. I think this might have done better with a change of cast but like I said before she gives a great performance. If you can get past this issue it is otherwise a solid adaptation. 

MIMK-008 - Reiko Sawamura - Kuso Miso Technique

Alright look, we all knew this was coming, you saw the header image of this article. We can’t talk about JAV adaptations of hentai manga without discussing one of the most famous (infamous?) of them all. Enough stalling, we need to dive right in, so, as they say, “shall we do it?”

The original manga is titled Kuso Miso Technique by Yamakawa Junichi and is famous for the “yaranaika” face meme. It revolves around the character Masaki Michishita having his first homosexual experience with a strange mechanic named Takakazou Abe in a park restroom. That’s pretty much all there is to it, it isn’t a very long or complex manga.

Rather than use male actors, this adaptation opted to fill the roles of Junichi and Abe with Reiko Sawamura (sometimes seen under the names Honami Takasaka or Masumi Takasaka) and Uta Kohaku respectively. The pair are given realistic futanari (sometimes this genre can be found under “hermaphrodite”) phalluses for this role, which is a genre much like Newhalf that I am very passionate about. 

So does this adaptation live up to it’s cult classic source? One thing is for sure, I laugh quite a bit on each watch through. Something about seeing the scene of Junichi frozen in place staring at Abe unzip his jumpsuit in motion makes it infinitely more hilarious. Both of the actresses play their characters very well but Reiko absolutely steals the show, she has the facial expressions of Mr Abe absolutely perfect. Rather than employing the tactic of expanding each sex scene like some of the other adaptations in this list, this video instead opts to just go off the script about ten minutes in and change settings to a bedroom. 

This video has some decent anal play, some great anal scenes, beautiful JAV actresses with futanari cocks, a great masturbation scene with Uta Kohaku, and some great behind the scenes at the end. The first ten minutes are honestly worth the laugh but if you enjoy anal or futanari JAV then the rest is also absolutely worth your time for much more than a laugh. This is gonna be a genuine and unironic recommendation from me.

RKI-408 - Yu Tsujii - Futabu! Volume 1

Bosshi is a very popular artist in the ero manga scene, and Futabu (Futa Club) is without a doubt one of his most popular works, sporting both anime and JAV adaptations. This adaptation in particular covers the first three chapters of the original manga. 

There is quite a cast of characters for this manga so let me go over them here at the top. Our protagonist is a non futanari girl named Shimura Akane (Yu Tsuji), and she joins a club for futanari girls to vent their sexual frustrations. The club members include: the megane Ohashi Sumika (Kurea Hasumi), the tomboy Itou Aya (Sara Saijo), the tomboy’s bubbly best friend Aihara Ai (Miku Abeno), and the president of the club Asakura Mao (Marie Konishi). Club activities usually involve the girls having their way with Akane and/or each other. The first chapter features a foursome between all the girls except the president, the second chapter features Akane having to take responsibility for awakening the president’s massive boner with a B-plot of Aya and Sumika at a bath house together, and the third chapter involves Sumika helping keep the president’s boner in check with some massive sex toys. 

The adaptation is VERY faithful to the first chapter, following it nearly beat for beat. It replaces the Aya x Sumika bath house sex scene from chapter two with a threesome between them and Ai in a locker room. The scene is excellent and for me when it comes to futanaris the more the merrier! The scene between Akane and the president is very faithful however. The final scene still technically contains Sumika helping the president keep her massive libido under control but it sadly does not include any toys. I understand it obviously wouldn’t be practical to custom make a giant onahole or have giant insertions like in the manga but at least some other type of toys would be appreciated rather than dropping the idea altogether in favor of a regular sex scene.

Where this video absolutely shines is in the perfect casting. Each girl has so much incredible chemistry with each other and all fit their parts so perfectly. My personal favorite is Sara Saijo as the tomboy Aya, she not only looks the part of a perfect tomboy, she really exudes the energy and becomes the role. It honestly makes me wish she could have been the lead in Mesudachi, mentioned earlier in this list. I’m positive she would have been perfect for that role after seeing her performance here. The futanari prosthetics were all great too and the girls absolutely sold the performance of having them. 

I truly saved the absolute best for last on this list. I highly recommend this title to any futanari enthusiast, it really is the must-see holy grail when it comes to that kind of content in JAV. The many cumshots alone make it a title worth remembering but what really sells it is absolutely the performance of each and every one of the girls and how well they play off each other. The threesome scene in the locker room is my personal favorite for sure.
