Oppaira's 2021 JAV Wishlist - 10 Things I want To See In 2021
Hey everyone, Oppaira here. This time I've got a fun little post I've done for a couple of years now, a Christmas wishlist for JAV. Everyone always has a list of things they want to see happen and I think it's great to see what everyone else is hoping to see in the new year. I would encourage all the readers to think about some stuff they want to see next year and write them down in the comment section below.
10. More actresses return on social media
Social media has become a hot topic in recent years with a plethora of options available, including Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and even Twitch lately. These present a lot of great opportunities for actresses to keep in touch with fans even after they retire. I don't know about other people but I find retirements are much more palatable when the actress is still kind of around. Even if Ai Uehara has delisted a ton of her stuff I still enjoy being able to see her on social media. Kaho Shibuya is retired as well but I watch her stream and it's great to see her even in non-pornographic environments. I actually recently saw Yuma Asami and Acky on a YouTube video together, so even long retired actresses can make appearances. Considering we've seen some just completely leave the scene like Ayumi Shinoda or Wakaba Onoue it would be nice to see them come back and let us know how they're doing. I'm not asking for a 12 hour Twitcast marathon but maybe just a hello on Instagram or a short YouTube video with another actress.
9. Studios do more interesting concepts
Studios are pretty lazy with the videos they release, I must say. They very rarely think outside the box with the things they're doing, especially with studios that have very narrow focuses like Madonna. I feel like that's something you see out of Japan in general, that companies rarely want to gamble on anything and always do predictable things. If you look at what studios are doing a lot of studios actually copy each other, and so you get several different studios doing the same plots. That's not exactly a bad thing but again I do wish they could be creative.
One studio did do a really interesting concept this year and that would be Hitodzuma Hanazono Gekijou. They had a pair of releases starring Yumi Kazama and Yui Hatano that followed the same plot, each having a video from their perspective of it. I thought it was really interesting to have multiple videos related to the same plot, in this case a pair of releases. They actually released in two different months, which personally I think was a mistake, but still it was very interesting and the kind of idea I'd love to see. Another interesting concept I saw this year (which I totally had on my list before they actually went and did it) was the Uber Eats video. Especially after seeing Marina Shiraishi doing it on social media it was great seeing studios get with the times.
Following that vein I'd love to see a series of videos following a single plot. Why do videos have to have a plot that spans only the single entry? Stretch something out to two or three videos and keep up excited for the next installment. For example, what if you had a series with Hibiki Otsuki, Yui Hatano, Yu Shinoda, and Kurea Hasumi all fighting over the same guy? Each could get a solo video and then a final fifth video could be the four of them competing for the guy. This way, each individual entry doesn't require context to enjoy and you hype people up for the finale.
8. Meguri does VR
This is definitely a selfish one but I've been really hoping to see her do VR for a while now. She's the one lone holdout among my active favourites that hasn't done it and with how much VR I've been watching in general I would really like to see her do it. Meguri has been taking some time off recently, though she did indicate she wasn't retiring; in reality, who knows if she really will come back. If she does come back it might be a good opportunity to do VR as she tries to remind everyone she's a great actress. Tameike Goro still hasn't done VR so it does hurt those chances a little, but we have seen actresses be exclusive and do VR elsewhere, just go ask Hitomi who did VR twice at Moodyz.
7. The industry makes better use of English
English in videos is surprisingly hot and woefully underutilized. I think the industry in general just doesn't do a good job of catering to international fans. I don't exactly blame them when their sales show the domestic market being more important but at the same time I can't help but feel like the international market offers so much untapped potential. ZENRA itself is a perfect example of what the market opportunities look like if the industry were to invest in it. The easiest thing to do is just identify some actresses that speak English and try to find more opportunities for them to use it. BBC and English teacher are two really obvious ways to use it that don't require much effort from studios. Hitomi, for example, speaks conversational-level English, and Yuri Oshikawa just came back this year from a trip abroad in America. In fact, Yuri even dabbled in an English BBC last year in VR so hopefully there's room for something again. There are also plenty of other ways to use it as ZENRA has shown, maybe one day the industry will learn that their international fans are important.
6. Another Hibihata Duo
Hibihata is a duo that is like no other. If you don't know, Hibihata is the duo of Hibiki Otsuki and Yui Hatano. The pair are best friends and are inseparable if you look on social media. The same is true in JAV as well, they star together in videos all the time and even have series predicated on it beign Hibihata. I think combined with their popularity and desire to work together, studios just always want to star the pair together. There are even series where the premise is that it's Hibihata and as a fan it's amazing. The chemistry the two have is just so good that you can enjoy anything the pair is in.
This is where I come to my wishlist item which is that I hope another duo shows up. The amount of videos I've watched just because it's them is crazy, and I think it could work really well for some other pairs. Hasumitani was one I saw show up this fall, which is Kurea Hasumi and Akari Mitani, but it has fallen flat since they haven't worked together since. I think that the industry should try to find some pairs of actresses to work together. You don't need to have them working together all the time (as they've shown) but I think it can really boost two actresses. This is a topic I think has a lot of potential and I may even revisit this as a separate post sometime in the new year.
5. The industry revives some good series that were cancelled
There's nothing quite like finding your favourite series got cancelled. It's even worse in porn when they don't let you know either. A lot of really great series over the years have just seemingly found themselves cancelled and it's high time the industry goes back to them. I really have no idea what studios were thinking cancelling some of them either. Others seem to agree with me as Panking even wrote an article on it not too long ago. In particular there are two series I would really like to see come back.
The first is Moodyz's Dream Woman. It's a really great bukkake series, probably my favourite, and I'd love to see them revive it. There are a variety of things that make it great, one is that many entries are quite lengthy at 4 hours long. Another is that they often have some good variety among the content which is often quite difficult to do with bukkake. Lastly, Moodyz has both exclusive and freelance actresses, meaning the opportunity for a good set of actresses doing it is very high. Some names we might see in it include Nao Jinguji, Honoka Tsujii, Ruka Inaba, Nozomi Ishihara, Sakura Miura, Nene Tanaka, and Eimi Fukada. Honestly, the list is basically anyone who isn't an exclusive for a different studio and that gives us just so many opportunities for some great videos. It's also a great opportunity for Moodyz to spread their wings again since they've basically stopped most of their variety and don't really do bukkake anymore.
Another I'd really love to see revived is Das's The Moment I Met This Pornstar She Demanded Raw Creampie Sex. That series is really great and one of my favourites, I even wrote an article on it earlier this year. Nao Masaki is a brilliant director who really made this series great. It's a shame we haven't seen any new entries in a while but that also means there are new actresses that could really do well in it. I'd personally like to see Akari Mitani, Touka Rinne, and Yuri Honma in it, I think they would do well. I would say it's a very demanding series so not every actress would work out well but the potential for any video to be a slam dunk is there.
4. Madonna content stops being lame
Madonna is very much a one-note studio. Their content is all centered around older women like housewives and stepmothers, often from a perspective of them cheating on their spouse. Things like the boss at work having sex with his married coworker or his coworker's wife are extremely common for them. The problem I have with this is that it greatly reduces the variety an actress with them has. When I think about these plots, sure, you can spin it a million different ways but at the same time, no matter how you spin it, it won't feel as different as compared to what other studios are doing. This is especially true when the cast are always older women and the plots are always drama based.
I look at a studio like Wanz Factory and see them doing stuff like their 10 Min series or one where they mistake the girlfriend's hot sister as the girlfriend. These are interesting and fun concepts. Even if you look at a studio like S1, you have things like female boss, swim club, club manager, detective, etc. S1 is known for being very limiting in their content (largely due to a creampie ban) but I actually think Madonna is even more basic and limiting.
I think the biggest reason I want to see this is that I find I care much more about Madonna these days. It was different when the actresses I watched there were freelance actresses. Names like Yumi Kazama or Rena Fukiishi where I could skip the Madonna release if it was bad (because they had other stuff coming out) meant I didn't mind it too much. Madonna has Marina Shiraishi and Asahi Mizuno to exclusive contracts so my only two options are to watch a video I may not enjoy or skip watching their release. I actually ultimately stopped watching Marina's content in general as a result so I'm really hoping the same doesn't happen with Asahi.
What I'm hoping to see is Madonna branch out a lot. I think even if you want to keep the idea of married women cheating you've got a lot of options to go with it. Hentai is their friend here because artists have a lot of ideas about what married woman can do. Maybe they have an apartment sex club where she has a bukkake, maybe she's a teacher and all the students know she gives "special lessons" after class, maybe she starts an OnlyFans account because her husband never makes time for her. Regardless of what they do, I would love to see more variety out of them. It breaks my heart a little when I have to stop paying attention to new releases from actresses I like because their content sucks and all I can hope is Madonna improves.
3. Julia does lesbian
I feel like this is something that just permanently winds up on my list, but I think that I really do want to see it quite a bit. Julia, wanting to do lesbian has always been a tricky subject. She's publicly stated that she would be interested, but also publicly stated she strongly prefers men. Maybe we can compromise and have some strap-on lesbian sex? I think what excites me most about Julia doing it isn't that Julia would be good at it but the possibilities it would open for her. She's extremely lacking in variety for her videos so something like this would maybe open her to being more wild. Especially given that 2020 saw her leave the comfort she had with a studio like Oppai, the potential for it to happen seems all the more likely.
If I were picking an actress I would want to follow some basic guiding principles. For one, I think Julia would have to be friends with the actress because the comfort level would be important. Secondly I think Julia would need to have similar sized breasts or bigger breasts because when she was up against Hitomi/Anri/Kaho she felt dwarfed by theirs. Given that Julia has gone on loan to other studios before I think it's perfectly reasonable for her to work anywhere, especially after working for Hajime Kikaku not long ago.
I feel like Asahi would be a great choice given they're friends and work for the same agency. The agency thing just makes it so much more likely, and Asahi fits every option I can think of. Asahi is busty but not bustier than Julia, Asahi has done lesbian before, etc. It might be difficult given Asahi works at Madonna, but as I mentioned in another section I'd love to see them branch out a bit and this would be a great idea (and Madonna has done lesbian before, in fact Asahi was actually in that).
Another is a Hibihata duo, which I think would work out quite nicely. Hibihata actually did the one lesbian video AIKA did, which was something special just because AIKA really didn't want to do it. I think just the skill the two have and how they're friends with everyone, there's just no way it could go wrong. She did in fact work with them once for Moodyz so the potential is there. The two have even done strap-on sex many times before so I think that the potential for that to be a bit of a gateway would be great.
Julia, if you're listening, please consider doing lesbian. Your fans really want to see it and I've got a couple of great suggestions here for you.
2. Anri Okita or Saeko Matsushita come out of retirement
Actresses coming out of retirement is always something fans hope for, and this past year and a half or so has been a really big deal for actresses coming back. We've seen so many names it's mind-boggling, and a lot of big names: Meguri, Minori Hatsune, Rara Anzai, Chitose Saegusa, and Asahi Mizuno. I think it makes me really hopeful for the future that more of my retired favourites may show up. I actually started this list wishlist many months ago and had Asahi on it, so I guess Christmas came a little early for me. Anyway, I still have another couple names I'd love to see.
Anri Okita is the actress I'd like to see come out of retirement the most. She looks fantastic these days and has long since been one of my all-time favourites. Her breasts grew quite a lot from pregnancy and she just looks so juicy. She's also currently doing OnlyFans (which I might add has some great content) so the jump between being nude on camera in her home and nude on camera for JAV doesn't seem like a huge stretch. I think with all the things Anri does and her being a mom, she probably doesn't want to do porn again. That being said, I keep thinking that the ability to work with Hitomi (her best friend) might be enough to convince her, especially if the payout to her was huge. 2020 has been a strange year and I think nothing is really off the table anymore.
Saeko Matsushita is the more reasonable name I have. She retired silently earlier this year as I've heard. Studios kept pushing for her not to retire and she wound up not having a retirement video as a result. Considering just how many people are coming back, I wonder if her retirement may turn into a vacation instead. Unfortunately I only got into Saeko last year but I found myself enjoying her a lot. There really is nothing like getting into an actress only to find out they're about to retire. There's still plenty of her videos for me to go back and watch but with a silent retirement I can hope she randomly reappears. Considering all the names we've seen come back it wouldn't really surprise me either.
1. Good debut
The number one thing I'm hoping to see next year is actually a good debut. As strange as it sounds for this to be number one this year I've really felt the effects of no good new talent. Despite giving some actresses A ratings I really am not nearly excited about this year's debuts compared to years past. 2019 was the first time I watched 21 debuts in a year and the results were great. In fact, among just my top three debuts from last year I've already seen three dozen videos. As much as I do expect myself to watch some of this year's debuts again I just am not as hopeful of them panning out the way 2019 did. It's not even like 2019 was some crazy exception either, Touka Rinne debuted in 2018 and I've already seen over three dozen of her videos! I think I've just really come to like finding new talent to watch as it helps get over your favourites that retire. I look forward to seeing who debuts in 2021 and hopefully it's more like 2019 and not 2020.
With that we have my 2021 wishlist done. I hope everyone has a happy holidays and gets everything they want, JAV or otherwise. If there are things you want to see in 2021, let us know in the comment section, as I'd really love to know what everyone else is interested in. Until next time!

Great, we have like only 10 actresses that work because almost nobody has hentai tiddies in real life.
(Admin note: forbidden word removed from post)
In defense of R18, around the time they had the AVN appearance, they were pretty darn new. They're a competitor of ours in some ways, but are a critical way for foreign fans to legally buy digital versions of nearly any JAV movie.
If anything, now is the time to capitalize on it. Pornhub literally just deleted every video from a non-verified account. Search Hitomi and see what you get, it's barren. R18 could get verified, upload some trailers, and push people onto their site. That could probably work even without any English to speak of although I reckon it would work out better if there was some.
