Oppaira's Watchlist Review - August 2024 - Part 2 ft. Akari Mitani, Mayuki Ito, Ruka Inaba, and More!

Welcome to the first half of my August Watchlist reviews. Let's go find out who came out on top this month.

Mayuki works at a konbini and finds herself having an affair with her manager who just can't help himself with how hot Mayuki is.

Everyone knows how much I love konbini themes and sometimes that means I watch videos that don't turn out good. This was unfortunately one of those cases. There were many culprits to that starting with a wishy-washy theme and performance. It seemed to shy away from a strong lane, just being this half-hearted cheating theme. Mayuki was painfully average, kissing decently at times but in general not doing anything particularly well. I felt like a lot of the content was the same, generic konbini stuff. I tend to prefer when they do things more interesting like sex in the aisles or on the front counter as opposed to two main scenes in the back room. There's way better flexibility with the setting they could have used, and while it wasn't as bad as completely leaving the konbini like quite a few have done recently it was definitely not as good as it could have been. This was more of an enjoy Mayuki's body film and even that was kind of hard with how awful the camera angles were. Maybe if they hadn't tilted the camera 30 degrees for no reason it would have been okay but this weird insistence on that made it a little hard to enjoy. Still not a bad film but one I overestimated from the theme for sure.

Ruka Inaba plays a slutty office worker in a Samoari directed video.

I found this video to be very frustrating. Samoari is a very unique director and love him or hate him his content stands out. I was pretty pleased to see an office lady scene taking place in a stairwell, a very unique setting that quite frankly others should do (and could learn from Samoari). The video failed to remain an office lady theme and kept bouncing between them, giving us two scenes at the office and two scenes outside. It just felt like such a dereliction on his side to the theme, or maybe he just didn't even bother because of course he wouldn't. The strong influence of his own unique themes like that random garage was even worse than usual given the theme. A healthy dose of POV in the final scene was welcome and honestly the mediocre camera angles in the stairwell at least helped capture the uniqueness of the setting. There's also Ruka wearing glasses all film long which I won't argue with. Ruka's performance was also surprisingly good. It honestly seems like things have just clicked for her since returning to JAV because she seems to be a bit more assertive, a bit more into it, and a bit more aware during scenes. I honestly wouldn't say the video was bad, it wasn't, but it could have been so much more had Samoari been willing to do a proper office lady video. Maybe one day his ego won't be so inflated that he has to do his own thing.

Akari plays a recluse that hasn't had any action in a very long time. When a guy finally comes onto her and shows her the pleasures of sex she's reminded about just how much she enjoys being wild.

Nao Masaki delivering a neet film with a capable performer had to be good, right? Of course it did, I had a lot of faith in Akari for good reason. Neet films feel like they're very one-dimensional and the demure performance is often lacking, but Akari delivered as all hell. Watching her get roughly deepthroated or spanked was hot as hell and fit this weird yet entertaining middle ground with the neet theme. Like you expect her to be innocent and shy and it turns out she's some total slut underneath the years of recluse, felt like you hit the jackpot. I even enjoyed as it transitioned into her being more sensual like she had forgotten what love was and enjoyed just pretending to be lovers. They managed to keep some of the roughness there too which I liked. By no means was it perfect but it was certainly a banger as I think most people would have assumed.

Kana Kusakabe is a married woman who is a bit lonely when her husband is away. Have no fear, she spends her time eating well with her friend Hana Himesaki. Hana turns her onto the pleasures of online dating to find a fuck buddy and boy does Kana ever find one.

What's better than big titty milf? Oh, right, if she brings her big titty friend along for the ride. This is a series I have come to love for many reasons, starting first with it having awesome costars. It has everything you'd love from a single actress film with the added benefit of an extended scene with two actresses. It's not the first time I've seen it but I think Hana Himesaki is a better secondary, especially when the foursome style scene they have lends itself better to strong visual elements (i.e. Hana's body is fantastic). I also just generally like the more assertive style the video has. You see a gamut of ways Kana messes around with him, from getting him off in a public washroom (which was more enjoyable than the car scene in Ririko's that I reviewed) or using his belt as a collar to make him inherently submissive. It's easily one of the better Kana videos I've seen, which comes as no surprise knowing it's a Nao Masaki film. Just let her run all of Madonna at this point lol, but seriously this series is incredible, Kana's entry is amazing, and I hope we get all my favourites doing it.

Sayaka plays a teacher who helps out one of her troubled students. Mistaking her kindness for interest he sets his sights on her, only to find out his teacher is secretly a nymphomaniac.

Now that I've seen Sayaka a few times I find her to be a very one-dimensional actress. She seems to only know how to do one thing: over-the-top. While they can find plots like this one that make it make sense it always feels a little too overdone to me. I find in this style I really need something a bit more controlled, like her being the dominant one, maintaining a little more eye contact, or adding some deepthroating. She's a very frustrating actress because the performance feels like it's so close to being good, especially with her lovely squirting. That squirting was made even better as it dripped down her ripped pantyhose in a classroom, which kind of tells you what you need to know about the content. It had all the right teacher elements to it so from a thematic standpoint it was on point. It certainly was not a banger and was probably about what I expected from this, and I just hope that one day Sayaka figures it out.
