We all have our favorite and least favorite JAV studios. It can be for a myriad of reasons such as themes, production qualities, and the pool of actresses at their disposal. Now each studio has its own fair share of pros and cons however these 5 studios are worse than the rest. Now I should preface this list by saying that I've actually enjoyed a few videos from each of these studios and they're not all completely terrible. With that introduction out of the way let's begin with my number 5 choice...

5. Rookie

Kicking off my list with a studio mainly known for one specific element and that is huge balls and massive cumshots. However, the kicker is that it's all entirely fake. Rookie is a somewhat newer studio having been founded in 2009. Even from their start, they grew a reputation for being one of the wackier studios in the industry with some creative plots to say the least as well as some niche themes like transvestites, hermaphrodites, and lactating. They also drafted up a series featuring massive dicks as well so as a whole Rookie prided themselves on videos with larger-than-life features.

Now the main issue I have with this studio certainly isn't their creativity but instead, their overuse of faking many aspects of their films For instance, their lactation series is phony as the actresses don fake breasts with a pump to squirt out milk. But of course, the main culprit is their "The Number One World-Class Cum Busting Agent" series. It's entirely focused around massively fake balls and cumshots to the point where it just looks completely ridiculous. It can be frustrating though as the performances from this series are often quite good. But I just can't get over how silly the whole production is given that nearly every element is fake.

4. FetishBox

By all means, not the worst studio ever but one I certainly loathe. Fetish Box was founded about a decade ago in 2010. In just those 10 years though they've managed to produce nearly 600 films. Many of those films span the genres of light BDSM and femdom. The studio has worked with plenty of big-name actresses over the years including the likes of Kurea Hasumi, Ayumi Shinoda, Hibiki Otsuki, and Rei Mizuna. And when it comes to the variety of their plots it's really not too bad as they do a decent job at varying up the situations of their femdom themes. However, once you get to digging through their library, you'll start to notice some glaring flaws.

Despite femdom being one of my absolute favorite genres when it comes to JAV, I find FetishBox to be a very underwhelming producer of it. While they may boast some interesting themes from time to time my main issue is their sheer lack of creativity in their execution. Nearly every single video incorporates the exact same white/gray drab room which gets very repetitive. Lighting is always indistinguishable as well along with the camerawork which can be a bit offputting as the actress will frequently look directly into the camera while engaging with the actor. Lastly, the scene execution is the same too with just one sex scene in each film with the rest being blowjobs and handjobs. It's all very mundane and dull making for an underwhelming watch.

3. Madonna

Not a terrible studio really but one that is just incredibly repetitive. Madonna was founded back in 2003 and generally revolves around mature actresses or "milfs". This is a studio that has stuck by its central focus as ever since its inception it's always featured exclusively mature women and themes. However, they'll often cast younger actresses to play older roles which isn't too uncommon in JAV.  Now for what it's worth the studio generally boasts exceptional production values. You can nearly always rely on exquisite lighting and terrific camerawork. And their videos are usually well-paced.

However, my main grievance with this studio boils to its tiresome themes and plots. They recycle the same general setup for each film. Every film seems to incorporate some slight variance of cheating, cuckolding, ntr, or just some type of affair all with a heavy emphasis on drama. As a result, it becomes quite difficult to differentiate their library of films from one another as even their covers look the same from film to film. I applaud Madonna for sticking to their guns at least I guess. If you happen to really enjoy this specific theme then you'll love Madonna. For everyone else though, it's tiresome and repetitive.

2. Dogma

I'm sure this studio has its fair share of diehard fans but I am certainly not one of those. Dogma is quite easily the most niche studio on my list here. Dogma is one of the heaviest BDSM studios around and has been in the business since 2001. It was originally founded by legendary AV director, Tohjiro, as a separate label from part of the SOD group. However, just after one year, he separated from SOD and Dogma became its own studio. Now I will say there are a very small handful of films from Dogma that I actually like. Some of my favorite actresses have shot with them such as Rio Hamasaki and Kaori. However, beyond a small fraction of videos, I am completely turned off. One reason I dislike them is that they have some incredibly absurd series, mainly from the "DDB" label.

It focuses mainly on dirty talk, one-on-one action, and a slight emphasis on POV. However, the action is usually pretty dry with little real sex happening, lots of obnoxious fish-eyed lens close-up shots, and this ridiculous obsession with using a green screen behind the actress to display completely random scenes that just comes off as tacky and flat out stupid. But the real reason I never enjoy this studio is due to how extreme they are. I can't even name some of the fetishes they indulge but you can expect lots of bondage, ropes, anal, enemas, abuse, and plenty more that I can't mention here. One look at Dogma's library will tell you all you need to know and I should warn you it's not for the faint of heart. I can respect the history of Dogma but beyond that, I will absolutely pass on them. Not my cup of tea at all.

1. Attackers

This was an easy no brainer choice for me here at number one. I'm sure most of you reading this are familiar with Attackers but for those unaware, they are most well known for their emphasis on drama plots and not so consensual sex to say the least. Attackers is actually the oldest studio on my list having been founded clear back in 1996 and releasing their first films in 1997 under the "Shark" label. A year later they would create another label to market their softer series of cosplay videos that would actually be spun off into its own separate studio in, IdeaPocket. They've shot films with many popular actresses through the years such as Eimi Fukada, Aki Sasaki, Yui Hatano, and Kaho Kasumi to name a few. Despite their wide range of actresses and long-running success I still absolutely loathe Attackers.

Now to be honest there are a few films that I've enjoyed from Attackers but they are few and far between. One issue I have is that they'll often get exclusive contracts with actresses who are at the twilight stage of their career, which can often be referred to as "Attackers prison". Some examples include Jessica Kizaki, Minori Hatsune, and Nami Hoshino. It's a very disappointing and somber finish to their careers. But more than that is just the content itself from Attackers. Every single film features the same elements and is super heavy on drama which I loathe. Production values all feel "samey" too across each release and unless you are very into THAT specific fetish you'll have little reason to watch their films. So with all that said I think it's easy to see why Attackers is my least favorite studio in all of JAV.
