After 14 long years in the industry the legendary Hitomi Tanaka is heading off to retirement. She has graced us with one last film before she rides off into the sunset. You never know what to expect from a retirement film. Sometimes they go all out like in Kaho Kasumi's last film where she tried anal for the first(and last) time and brought back several of her previous IdeaPocket co-stars. Other times though retirement films can come across as an afterthought with very little spectacle about them. Unfortunately, this is where Hitomi's falls into place.

Plot

This will be very short. To summarize, there is no plot at all. It is strictly just a vanilla sex-driven film with no central premise or even unique scenarios for the scenes. And to be honest, it doesn't feel like a proper retirement film at all due to how little attention that aspect receives. There is a brief clip at the beginning where she's talking to the camera presumably about her career and a small clip at the end where she is given a bouquet of flowers. However, that scene feels separate from the film like it was added after she announced her retirement. This really feels like a regular video that Oppai had to amend with a few clips to make it a retirement film. It definitely doesn't feel like it was intended to be a retirement film from the start. So as a result, it's pretty underwhelming in that regard.

Sex

If there's one aspect that deserves praise here, it's easily the action. It consists of four scenes in all. They range from two one-on-one sex scenes to a solo masturbation scene, and lastly a gangbang scene. The solo scene is very forgettable overall here. The two one-on-one scenes are solid and one even ends in a real facial which is nice. Plus, one of them is shot entirely in POV. The best scene is easily the gangbang though. There are plenty of real cumshots and the position variety is terrific. Best of all the intensity overall is fantastic. Hitomi gets fucked pretty hard throughout which is always a great sight.

Production Quality

When it comes to the production quality, it's fine. The wardrobe variety is a bit minimal but it does feature a few distinct outfits at least. The camerawork overall is handled quite well with no real glaring issues. There's no static camera use which is always a plus in my book. The lighting though could have been better. Two of the scenes use a nearly identical setup that often feels a bit flat. It doesn't accentuate her curves at all really. Again, it's not terrible lighting but it feels pretty weak. The location variety is a bit lackluster too as they pretty much reuse the same room for two scenes. That combined with the lighting really makes the scenes feel quite "samey". The pacing is pretty balanced though as no scenes overstay their welcome or feel too dragged out. As a whole, there are some missteps here but nothing that's a dealbreaker.

Overall Satisfaction

Here we are. At the very last section of any Hitomi film that I'll ever review again. So as a sendoff to Hitomi how does it fare? Well, it's a bit complicated. As a film itself, it's solid. The action is great and the gangbang scene is superb with a nice intensity to it. However, some of the production values are hit-and-miss. And Hitomi's performance for the most part is just average. She's not exactly given a lot to work with here but her energy isn't too bad at least. But my biggest issue is that as a retirement film and a farewell to one of the biggest names the industry has ever seen, it's quite pitiful. This doesn't feel like a celebration of her career at all instead more of an "Oh you're done? M'kay here's some flowers cya". I don't know what the real story is as to why Hitomi called it quits and I'm not about to get into speculation territory. But I definitely don't think it was planned out as it all just feels really abrupt. All that being said it was still enjoyable to a degree. So with that, I give a final salute to Hitomi. She's easily one of the GOATS and deserves a spot in a JAV hall of fame one day. Here's to wishing her all the best in the future.
