Welcome to something a bit different than our usual stuff. Today we are reviewing Sex Like Real aka SLR. A virtual reality porn site that carries both JAV and western VR videos. With R18 closing up international fans will need to find a new way to legally acquire JAV. In this case JAV VR. So this is a great time to see if SLR can fill in the gap left by R18. I had the opportunity to review it so let’s dive on in.

Sex Like Real

SLR is a VR focused site. Interestingly they are not like your usual porn subscription site. They carry all sorts of VR scenes from other VR sites. So you’ll see sites like Wankz VR, VR Bangers, or Virtual Real Porn pop in their massive library. It advertises itself as having the largest VR library and I believe it. Not even Pornhub carries that many VR scenes by my quick count. In addition to JAV and other VR sites they also carry their own original scenes, exclusive to SLR. It is also important to note that their JAV VR is streaming only unfortunately and yes still with the censors. So while you can’t download JAV scenes you can for western scenes.

A premium subscription runs at $37.99 for one month or $29.99 recurring, $239.99 for an annual subscription, and even a lifetime subscription that runs at $1499 normally. Now that’s an eye popping number. I used an Oculus Go as my primary headset (yes I know it is time to upgrade) and was able to use Oculus Quest 2, or the Meta Quest as it's known now, to view the site. Using both the site on a desktop browser, viewing downloaded videos through SkyBox, or using the DeoVR app. They also offer their own SLR app but I found the DeoVR app to be very well done and offering lots of options for viewers so I found myself favoring that for headset browsing.

Technical Details

Now for the technical details, buckle in. SLR supports and recommends the Oculus Quest 2 or any 2020/2021 PC-connected headset. They do not recommended Google cardboards, iPhones, PlayStation VR (PSVR), GearVR or the Oculus Go and Oculus Quest 1. However you can use older headsets to view their videos and many of their videos have download options for the Quest 1/Go and PlayStation line. Not recommended but if you are a penny pinching VR fan, its workable. 60 FPS is the default standard at SLR with 90 FPS when using desktop headsets such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and 120FPS with the Valve Index and Pimax. They also offers both H265 and H264 encoding for many videos. Streaming was surprisingly a smooth experience even on an older Oculus Go though I prefer playing downloaded videos off of a media sever like Skybox.

The site does have a download limit: 30 Downloads in a 72 hour period. However you can stream videos as much as you want. The site offers a wide range of filters, tags, playlist, and search options. If you want to filter search for blonde Spanish speaking Milfs in a threesome with certain studio like VR Latina you can. Very through and in depth their searching functions. The site offers a wide variety of formats, resolutions, and search options. However not every video is available in all of those higher end formats. Depending on when the video was made, it might offer different options. Different sites used different standards and formats for their videos. So some might offer 8K, 7K, 6K, or 4K with Fisheye lens or not. You will learn as you explore different studios within SLR.  As a rule of thumb I have found more recent videos to be of high quality than older ones. In terms of both technical and production quality and for either JAV or western. Studios have gotten a lot better at making VR with more time.

Content

On the JAV side they carry almost 6K scenes and titles at the time of writing. I use the word scenes specifically because for some titles they list the individual scenes. Don’t try searching for JAV codes because they don’t use them. Like with western sites it’s better to search for actresses over a specific title/scene. SLR doesn’t have the same extensive library like the near monopoly Fanza/DMM. So don’t expect big name studios like S1, Idea Pocket, or Madonna. However they do carry other well-known names like SOD, KMPVR, Prestige, Dandy, MAX-A, and Natural High. You'll be hard pressed to find a better selection of JAV VR in a site outside of Fanza.

On the western side they carry a whole lot more with nearly 15K videos. From bigger name sites like WankzVR, VR Bangers, Virtual Real Porn, Milf VR, VR Allure. To little know niche sites that I have never heard of like Swallowbay, KinkyGirlsBerlin, Lust Reality, SinsVR and the list goes on and on. With their massive library there is the pitfall of having to wade through piles of uninteresting or niche videos but I think the problem of too much is better than the problem of too little. And there is quality in a lot of their videos. I personally vouch for sites like WankzVR, VR Bangers, and Milf VR.

SLR also carries their own originals which to my pleasant surprise isn’t just a throw in but a real draw of the site. Their videos have become quality scenes with high production values and longer runtimes than most others. They don’t release them as frequently as a normal site but many of these scenes are high quality particularly the more recent ones. At the time of writing they have built up an impressive backlog. Honestly it became my favorite section of the site. With over 250 videos it may be worth a monthly subscription alone. Finally as an extra throw in they have normal non VR scenes and VR cam girls too. The VR cam girls use a separate token system.

SLR Video Highlights
JAV

Some highlights include Iori Kogawa’s fourth wall breaking title. Watch as she jumps out of the screen to pleasure you directly. You can also get up close to the gorgeous Suzu Honjo for some sneaky quiet sex in a locker. And if you want sensory overload then I suggest Hibihata in The Room Next Door is a Porn Studio. Yui Hatano and Hibiki Otsuki taking their turn with you before all coming together. I was delighted to see Rena Aoi’s Premature Ejaculation Improvement Training video. A great performer who uses every bit of her acting and attitude to please fans.

Finally we have Melody Marks, the blonde who loves working in JAV as much as she does the west, who has her own JAV VR scene shot in Japan. She is a frequent face on SLR as a whole. To name some other actresses on their site they have Mana Sakura, Mina Kitano, Mitsuki Nagisa, Hana Shirato, Ichika Matsumoto, Eimi Fukada, Airi Suzumura, Remu Suzumori, and more. Lots of freelancers and exclusive girls from places like SOD and Prestige.

Western: Originals and Partners

Back on the western side I would definitely dive into their exclusives. Videos like their Asian Delight Trip Manila featuring Jada Kai, Ember Snow, and Avery Black in a fantastic foursome. A real highlight of their originals and something that has become a little series for them. There is also Blake Blossom’s Avatars in Action a great starlet who is on the rise which also has BTS footage in the end. A real rarity in VR and it has Blake needing some help from the director and delivering in a big way. There is also Kira Perez and Willow Rider’s phenomenal team up title.

Outside of their exclusives they have the sultry Elsa Jean in Five Easy Pieces with her expert dirty talk. And they have top shelf Milfs Cory Chase and Lexi Luna go at each other in Bargain Banging from Milf VR. My personal favorite is Breaking Stepdaddy's Rules with Summer Brooks and Anastasia Knight from Wankz VR putting on an all time performance. To name some other pornstars I’ve seen on their site they have Kenzie Reeves, Haley Reed, Adriana Chechik, Vina Sky, Gabbie Carter, Alex Coal, Riley Reid, Vanna Bardot, Abella Danger, and Gianna Dior. This is all just the tip of the iceberg, so much more I could have highlighted.

The Verdict

I came into the site to review JAV VR first but was blown away by the rest of it’s library. SLR boasts the largest VR library I have seen. With the loss of R18 and the difficulty international fans may have with using Fanza/DMM, SLR is a clear choice for JAV VR fans. The lack of downloads are big minus but that’s just another restriction JAV fans have to deal with. SLR more than makes up for it with their massive library. Some of it may be junk, some of it may be too niche for you, but quite a bit of it is great. As a subscriber you will not want for choice. For example I wouldn't have thought much of VR Conk before using SLR but now they are on my radar with their great costume and parody scenes. There is just so much to explore on the site. Where else can you find a VR site that caters to milf, cosplay, BDSM, edging, and JAV all in one place.

It feels like a good site to get a sense of what’s out there, how different studios make their videos, and decide what you might like to subscribe to fully. Aside from that sampler offering, SLR offers enough high quality exclusive content to make regular VR fans interested too. When you add on their JAV offering, SLR becomes a great deal. With their large library, loads of options, and growing exclusive videos; I’m giving SLR a 9 out of 10.
