What I Hate About JAV

Introduction

When compared to Western pornography, Japanese AV are rather distinct thanks to their quirks and tendencies. Whether it be conducting a lewd game show or just having the girls wear enchanting cosplay, there will always be something new and interesting to find among JAV, and while some movies can contain odd fetishes, sometimes these elements aren't always for the better. I'm going to discuss several elements or fetishes in JAV (and pornography in general) that I personally dislike, and believe reduce the mood or atmosphere.

Loud/Gross Noises During Fellatio

This is probably one that most are familiar with, especially with JAV. Oral scenes are always pleasant to watch from a viewer's perspective as its an easy means of believing it is happening to yourself, though nothing makes it more gross for me when the woman is making overly loud and obnoxious slurping noises while she slides her mouth along a shaft.

In a way, her loud noises are comparable to the Japanese custom of making slurping noises when eating at a ramen shop - the intent is about showing appreciation and satisfaction. I prefer subtlety for a fellatio scene (as far as the noise goes), and such loud slurping is not only gross to me, but it's distracting in a bad way.

Strange Noises During Sex

Panting, heaving, and moaning are common during sex, and any individual could tell you that the noises made by the woman can enhance a sex scene by an immense degree. There's little reason for the woman to not do this, so many JAV, and even Western pornography often try to make use of this element by having the woman moan or talk dirty.

However, as far as JAV goes, the women have a tendency to make some "strange" noises, on occasion. This is likely the most well-known trait of JAVs that many take issue with, as the women often can make really outlandish sounds, even resembling animals in some extreme cases. Many will agree that cute moans from a girl can be highly erotic, but execution is crucial.

Western pornography in comparison, I find women often talk too much, or are too cringe-worthy with how they talk. I believe they would benefit more if they kept it simple and more subtle, but in terms of JAV that have women squeaking like dolphins: I think that's just unable to be salvaged.

Swallowing/Excessive Bukkake

The male's release of semen is considered an important part of any sex scene. For some reason, much like witnessing a woman's bare body, men derive excitement from seeing a woman splashed with male reproductive fluid. Whether the semen is shot onto the woman's body or face, or blasted into her vagina to then ooze out, semen is an indication of the arrival of climax, the highly pleasurable conclusion to a sexual encounter.

Though, over time, pornography has presented different ways in which couples can sexually interact with semen, and that includes the woman (attempting to) swallowing it. Tons of men seem to be in love with this act of the woman downing their fluid, but I find it disgusting to the point of almost gagging (and I'm male by the way). As far as I'm concerned, if I got to release into the woman's mouth, then I got what I wanted.

I do understand the general idea behind why men find a woman swallowing semen to be attractive though, as the woman is exerting an effort to swallow something "gross" for their sake. Personally, I just find it revolting, and I could never stand seeing it in both JAV and Western pornography. Even bukkake scenes, a specialty of JAV, can sometimes be gross to me when it's excessive. It's mostly a thin line: if it's too much it can be gross, but done properly it can be incredibly stimulating.

Licking the Man's Nipples

This is a rather frequent thing in JAV, as I rarely ever see it in Western porn. In most of the JAV I've watched, the woman can be seen licking the man's nipples whilst playing with his phallus at some point. I guess this desire could be common in females, as men often have the urge to play with a woman's nipples in the same way. Seeing this happen in reverse is rather off-putting in my opinion, as I'd prefer to see this being done to the woman, and not the other way around (perhaps due to the fact that I mostly see it being done to women in Western pornography?). It is a nice courtesy for the woman to perform this on a partner however, as the nipples are an erogenous zone, regardless of sex.

Ugly/Distracting Males

Another trait in porn I detest that I'm sure many will agree with is ugly or distracting males. A lot of JAV, Western porn included, try to do their best to obscure the male when possible, as the females are most often the highlight of the work. This is due to a lot of erotica being male-targeted, so those in charge often try to keep the male actors out of view, as male watchers mostly prefer ogling the beautiful woman.

Though, often times there are some pretty hideous or obese male actors who are quite repulsive and distracting, even when they're not fully visible. While I agree that such actors should still be given a chance to participate in pornography, beauty and attractiveness is a large part of the medium, so it is typical that some watchers will take issue with ugly men appearing in a work.

To make things worse, this also seems to be a fetish in JAV, as there are videos solely dedicated to having ugly men dominate beautiful women. Thankfully such works don't seem to be very abundant. To be honest, I find this qualm to be lesser in comparison to my other dislikes on this list, as I can usually manage to zone out these elements, save for perhaps some fat male actor's stomach bulging on-screen.

Food Porn

In my opinion, if there's two things that don't combine well together, its food and sex. Some sex videos have males licking chocolate or cream off a woman's body, or something similar. Such acts I could never find tasteful or stimulating, as I believe food and sex are solely different pleasures. These sorts of scenes also tend to get messy in a way that isn't gratifying either.

Japanese culture even has something like this, although it is not necessarily sexual by nature: nyotaimori involves eating sushi off a nude woman's body, and there aren't many things that would more easily spoil my appetite. Taking that to a sexual level, I don't find it any more palatable. The idea of a person's sweat and filth mixing with food, and then another person ingests that food makes me feel sick.

Anal

Anal is a fetish that I simply don't understand. While I dislike it, watching a sex scene involving it won't immediately have me perturbed, but I can't necessarily say I enjoy watching such content either. I get it, the concept that women have two possible holes to use down there, each with their own qualities and sensations, is a thrilling one, but I cannot comprehend the allure - a sphincter releases stool. If you penetrate a woman's anus, you will get said stool on your member, and it's almost impossible to avoid. I don't find anything about that erotic.

I would maybe try anal sex with a woman -once- out of curiosity regarding the sensation, but doing anal and observing anal are different matters. Granted, I do appreciate how anal is handled in JAV and porn, as there is usually no stool in the actual scene, something that likely required a lot of preparation. Anal itself can also be quite dangerous, as it can be easy to cause damage down there without the aforementioned preparation and precautions. I can at least thank the actors for committing to such a costly act.

Foot Fetish

Obsession with a woman's feet seems to be a popular fetish in JAV as well, but it's one that I also can't understand. Feet have nothing inherently sexy about them, and are among the most filthy parts of the human body. Some will immediately argue that the anus and vagina/penis are equally filthy, but the feet make direct contact with the dirt or floor, and such surfaces are riddled with feces.

This has apparently been a revered fetish, not just in JAV, but throughout history, what with Chinese foot-binding and all that. Whenever I see the woman choosing to stroke the man with her feet or the man putting his mouth anywhere near the woman's feet, I am immediately turned off and compelled to fast-forward through the video.

Conclusion

I imagine those who avidly watch JAV will have drastically different opinions, and this is inevitable, as pornography is a wide medium with several different fetishes, and people have different preferences and tastes in what they like. What are some of your most despised fetishes/things in porn?
