Who Handles Moaning/Dirty Talk Better: JAV or Western Porn?

Sex is the highest form of pleasure in existence, and it's pretty inevitable that humans moan during intercourse. Moaning in itself can be considered highly erotic, only contributing further to the pleasure of the act, and as such, JAV (as well as western porn) tries to put an emphasis on moaning, or encourages the actors/actresses to do it.

Talking dirty is also something that happens often in porn, and it involves the actors lewdly describing the situation or saying things to purposefully instill lust in their partner (and indirectly, the watcher). Both moaning and dirty talk are done differently and have a different allure in JAV and western pornography, so I'm going to discuss these aspects and determine which form of erotica does it better.

In general, I believe I like how Japanese women moan in JAV more, and this might be because I'm not Japanese myself. The exotic allure of a woman from a different country plays a factor in this, and the fact she's speaking this pretty language I can't understand, coupled with a voice that sounds "different" so to speak from women in my own country, adds to this.

From what I've seen, Japanese women typically have softer and cuter voices when moaning, making sex scenes more sweet and innocent, while western porn makes the woman seem more annoying and self-absorbed (more on that later). However, not all JAV have this great quality of female moaning, as there are plenty of movies where the women sound highly obnoxious. It's sometimes so bad that the women sound like animals (dolphins in a lot of instances), and it can destroy the entire scene. I've found that this type of moaning appears perhaps 30% of the time (in my experience).

Similarly, it can be enticing when Japanese actresses talk dirty in Japanese, even if the watcher doesn't understand. Japanese just has a sensuousness to it, and coupled with the woman's soft voice, it can be erotic. Of course, there is a benefit to actually understanding the language, as perhaps she is saying something dirty that aligns with the JAV's theme. Perhaps the actress is a maid and she is talking about how she is hoping she is giving "good service". While not exactly crucial, understanding what she's saying could make a scene slightly more erotic.

This could just be because I'm familiar with the language, but moaning and dirty talk from women in western pornography often comes off as more annoying in comparison. The women often tend to be louder and more vocal, and even tend to purposefully moan in a specific "self-aware" sort of way, as if they know they're "being recorded" and are trying to put on a show, rather than allow the moaning to come naturally. In a way, it's like they're just being attention-seekers - this is my perspective anyway. Not all western porn actresses are like this of course, but I feel a lot of them are, and I don't favor that sort of "style".

There are some benefits to moaning/dirty talk in English-speaking western porn though, such as the fact that you're able to understand what they're saying. While what they're saying probably isn't at all important, it can perhaps trigger a greater sense of arousal in the watcher as the actors/actresses bark commands at each other lustfully.

I feel like dirty talk is also less elaborate/sophisticated in western porn. Instead of saying things like "you're stirring up my insides", or something humorous/erotic that is relevant to the theme of the JAV (or in terms of cosplay, what aligns with the personality of the character), western porn actresses seem to focus more on profanity and talking about genitals. "Fuck my pussy", "yeah stick your big dick between these big titties" and other absurd remarks like that, which really come off as cringe-worthy and not necessarily stimulating.

I suppose talking dirty is always kind of comical and ridiculous, but that's only natural as sex in itself is a funny thing. However, western porn just seems to dial it up to 11 on most occasions, which I just do not find appealing. It's not all bad though, as I have encountered a few actresses that can sound really nice when moaning and who keep the dirty talk to a minimum and/or to less ridiculous wording. I believe simplicity and not going overboard works best.

Needless to say, since I'm straight, I obviously don't really favor hearing the male moan, let alone talk. It could be different when you're the one actually having sex, but from a watcher's perspective, hearing the man I believe is often unnecessary. I imagine there are at least some movies/western porn out there where the male actors were probably even discouraged from moaning. While I think watchers would benefit from that, it would be kind of absurd to force that sort of thing, as it's rather difficult to do and kind of unfair for the male actors. It would be humorous to see a film with no moaning or talking whatsoever though.

Japanese men are often less irritating when it comes to their moaning, so if I had to choose, I'd rather hear male moaning in JAV. While I wouldn't want to hear a man uttering perversions during a sex scene either, there are some benefits to hearing a man talk dirty in a scene, as it could better establish a mood or (as previously mentioned) help bolster the theme of the JAV. As mentioned before, Japanese men are also more soft and less annoying/rough with the way they talk, so they're often more palatable in comparison to western men.

Dirty talk and moaning is often much worse in western porn (surely not a surprise at this point). Western men will tend to be louder and more obnoxious in comparison to Japanese men, though not necessarily on purpose unlike the women, but regardless, it's still something I don't prefer hearing. The dirty talking with men has the exact same issue as the women however, as they tend to say ridiculous or nonsensical stuff simply to be explicit. There's no subtlety or style, it's just "HEY EAT THIS CUM", or "YEAH I FUCK YOUR TIGHT PUSSY".

Look, I get that sometimes being explicit and profane CAN be erotic, and this kind of dirty talk, I imagine, comes more naturally when you're the one performing the sex, but I don't see the appeal in wanting this for every movie/scene, or from a watcher's perspective. When you make a movie, you have to chance to do more, not just capture what is natural. Do something sophisticated, special, different - instead most western porn films are just capturing the "natural". Talk about dick, pussy, tits. I feel most people settle for this too often instead of striving to want more out of a western pornographic production.

Here are a few other thoughts regarding moaning and dirty talk that I didn't think fit into any of the other sections.

While talking and dirty talk in a scene can be sexy, it can often be too much if the actors/actresses are talking non-stop. There should be a limit to how much talking is going on, as the JAV/movie is about the sex, primarily. Unless, of course, this is a central theme to the movie.

There is also some fetish play that can be done through dirty talk, such as when the woman talks down to the man or vice-versa. This is one benefit to including dirty talk, and anything that can end up becoming a new fetish for a watcher is a good thing, in my opinion.

I believe moaning can also make use of "repetition" to be sexy on occasion as well, and I've heard this in both JAV and western porn. Basically what I mean is, when a woman is moaning, she makes essentially the same/similar noise a couple times in a row - yes I get it, moans by nature are similar, it's a moan. It's hard to describe, but sometimes hearing the same moan back-to-back can prove to be sexy - albeit within limits, obviously it starts to get grating if an actress moans the exact same way for a whole 10 minute scene, but I think this is one concept that movies can take advantage of.

On the same subject of "moaning methods", when women change the pitch/volume of their voice during sex, that is often an immensely pleasurable thing. Barely ever do I hear that in JAV, but I do see it rarely in western porn (see Jesse Jane). Some western actresses even scream slightly, which can be indescribably erotic. This is one of the few things about western porn that I really like and praise, even if it doesn't seem to happen often. Moaning is a very powerful tool during sex, but rarely do we see porn creators make full/creative use of it.

While moaning and dirty talking in JAV isn't "spectacular" or "ground-breaking" by any means, it does show that creators are trying and find it to be important. JAV actresses are soft, sweet, and cute sounding, and yet western actresses sound annoying, most the time. Some western actresses know to utilize their voice as a tool to increase the sexiness of a scene, but other than that, I see few benefits to watching a western film for the moaning/dirty talk.
