Overall a very nice movie. The girls are cute and their relationship is presented in a very captivating way. It's sweet to look at them doing things together, and by that I don't mean only the sex scenes but also those with talking or walking in the forest. The plot is rather simple, but was interesting enough to make me curious about how it'll develop. Some parts were actually quite emotional in a really unexpected way. Pretty landscapes and the traditional Japanese house create a very calm, cozy and actually romantic atmosphere.
Some things are weird though, especially the first sex scene. Rei gets into Sayo's bed so quickly. It felt hastened, probably as there was not enough "getting closer" scenes before that. Sayo is understandably embarassed, but the actress gets that too far, showing almost no excitement until the very late in the scene.
The movie in general feels hastened. My guess is that it was created with a goal of sex scenes to take more than a half of the total running time. I personally would prefer them being somewhat shorter, and in exchange to get more scenes showing the girls getting closer to each other (e.g. doing household works together; Sayo says at one point, Rei helped her a lot, but we don't see it). It'd also make space to answer some more background questions, like how did Rei die?
And I was really disappointed by Rei "lying" and later apologizing for that. It could've been solved better. She could've said that she didn't lie, as she'll always be there with Sayo and care for her, even if not in her material form (or something like that). It'd also perfectly connect with the prayer scene at the end of the movie.
But those are actually minor matters. The movie is still one of the best of all AVs I've ever seen and can recommend it to everybody who likes a roughly equal mix of sex and drama.
Btw, what the point of Sayo walking up to the shrine and back down multiple times in a row (as presented in file/scene 2)? It is some Japanese ritual to pray while walking, or how should I understand it?
