Timing and Translation by JM84

Under-rated is a word I may use too much. While it's hard to find out exactly how much, there are multiple examples building up on the tip of my tongue (metaphorically given the format of this review), but there are a decent number of JAV actresses--and 'stars' I am avoiding using here given the subject matter--who absolutely without a sliver of a doubt blown up. Ones who have the looks, the talent, the drive, yet for some reason never got major traction. There can be a billion reasons why: an agency not doing its part, an actress who actually could have a 'reputation' (we'll leave it at that), getting offers but selecting 'bad' ones (admittedly harder given the pace JAV movies are filmed!), and otherwise just bad luck. One can say having an active social media presence is a requirement, but some big names may have them, but barely touch them and others like MAO KURATA are the real unicorns who have nothing yet still have a huge fan-base. 

This leads us to MAO WATANABE whom debuted big with SOFT ON DEMAND in 2020 (and before anyone says COVID, this obviously had a major effect on many aspects of life, but seemingly little on JAV shooting outside of a few bumps here and there). With her advanced academic background and seriously good looks that I consider a cross between TSUBOMI and YURA KANO and perhaps a smidgen of MANA SAKURA thrown in for good measure, to this day it remains one of the biggest industry questions that circle around my thick skull as to why she never achieved a high amount of success. Interestingly, while now retired, she seems to have followed in MANA's footsteps and has a burgeoning writing career. Thus, it's always possible her 'unsuccess' may have been part of the plan all along?

With that said, today we are happy to show her first entry on ZENRA and hopefully not her last. We return once again to everyone's favorite hair salon somehow booked solid by DREAM TICKET. Yes, once again and yes, this may be the best of 'em! Welcome back to TEMPTATION SALON. MAO nails it. That's the review. OK a bit of joking out of the way, her performance is on point and if you've seen any of our previous updates from this series, you know what to expect. The only downside of note is the format is unchanged almost to a T. Not necessarily 'bad' as this is a series where we we like to see a different actress each time interacting in our known world. What's more, while I do not know MAO's background super well, she seems to have realistically acted out various hair treatments. Sure, the cutting may have been fake (the scissors never touched his hair!), but it was otherwise surprisingly believable (for starters, it is LIGHT YEARS better than the masseuse performance ERIKA KITAGAWA attempted and a stylist with all their tools requires a lot more finesse!).

MAO WATANABE may not be tall. She is not busty. Heck, she doesn't even have that big of a butt. But holy cow is she a beauty and that plus her commitment to putting on a good show are worthy praises. It almost as if she had all the success in JAV she wanted all along and being a low-key free agent rather than a popular exclusive actress was her game plan all along.
