While Japan may not (yet, hopefully never, but who knows) have a lopsided population issue allegedly becoming a serious issue in at least one neighboring nation, there still is the problem of the 'herbivorous man'. Guys nowadays frankly just lack the guts to make approaches. What can be done if you're an eligible lady who really wants a partner, but even the most ideal ones are not making any effort to talk to you? Do you take the logical approach of using dating apps (side note, this author comes from an age where these apps and sites existed, but were seen as a kinda lame way to start relationships...gosh how times have changed!)? Popular now and surprisingly there are increasingly a number of JAV movies making use of this theme in some ways. But no, we're deep into JAV Land and because of that, SOFT ON DEMAND has something else in mind.

This may be weird, but hear me out: let's find some of these eligible women of Tokyo--heck, let's just zero in on the Ikebukuro area for some reason. Let's find them and corral them one at a time into our well-trodden Magic Mirror studio. There and remotely, we can show them guys on the street and let them decide which is most their type. After a selection has been made, we on her behalf approach him and invite him to meet the beauty he's never had the guts to approach. And this is where the magic--and weirdness happens.

Rather than being a simple albeit unusual way for couples to meet, BLIND DATE MAGIC MIRROR STYLE - WILL IT LEAD TO SEX? takes elements of similar movies we've shown before and builds on that. This is not two strangers simply talking in a famous JAV set. No! We've games, we've fun, we've challenges!

And what's more--and major props for SOD pushing the realism angle, two things of note: when sex happens, it's surprisingly authentic, but even more so, sex does not always happen! It's a an odd thing to note that in a review, but let's accept reality: blind dates even when given a JAV dressing do not always end in sex. Sure, SOD could have built the movie around it happening each and every time and with (real, fake, your call) creampies to boot, but the fact that not every scene in this impressive and unique double update does not go all the way is equally praiseworthy.
