(Introducing Iori Kogawa)

This next Actress Spotlight is a special one with Iori Kogawa. With her upcoming retirement it seemed like a fitting time to give this long running actress her due. One of my favorite JAV actresses of all time if not my most favorite. Iori was very active during the mid-2010’s just as I was really getting into JAV so I have a soft spot of her. Today we will be looking at her career, what she is all about, and what makes her so special. This is Iori Kogawa’s Retrospective.

AV Career

Earlier this year Iori announced her retirement for adult video work. After a long ten year career with SOD, she is set to hang it all up by the end of 2022. Debuting in 2012 with SOD, Iori has known no other studio, being exclusive with them through an entire decade. A rarity today with all the freelancers working with whoever will take them and exclusive actresses testing the free agency markets going from contract to contract. She’ll go down as one of their best exclusive actresses next to the likes of Nana Natsume, Saori Hara, and Mana Sakura. An SOD great.

Ten years and over 180 titles in her catalog (not discounting compilations). Like most featured exclusive actresses she starred in about a movie a month. As her career went on she took a bit of a backseat to newer names like Suzu Honjo and Yuna Ogura. Splitting her yearly releases between normal videos and VR videos, she became one of SOD Star’s go to for VR titles. Great for VR fans, not so great for fans wanting normal releases. In recent years she could have anywhere between 5 or 6 normal titles. One of the downsides of exclusivity.

Outside of the adult video work she has acted in a number of TV and movie roles. Usually smaller time productions and pink films. Not a big surprise as she is known for her acting skills and has even won an award for one within AV. She won the right to appear in Yakuza 0, placing 20^th in a popularity poll. She is also a former member of JAV idol pop group Ebisu Muscats 1.5. Also friends with fellow SOD actress Masami Ichikawa. Represented by well-known agency T-Powers who work with a number of AV actresses.

The Classic Girl Next Door Beauty

Iori is a classical looking beauty. Known mainly for her long, straight and dark black hair. Parted just off center and draping down the sides, she has a conventional style and charm to her.  Her flowing hair is one of the best and most recognizable aspects about her and allows her to style her hair in all sorts of manners from buns to ponytails. In her earlier days she sported a poofier and shorter haircut that gave her a more dated appearance. She then she has matured nicely and learned to try out newer styles. Currently she likes to dye her hair slightly red and trotting out some bangs out front.

She has one pleasing face. The first thing that will jump out on you first is her big sloping and rounded nose. After that her captivating soft eyes; rounded in the middle yet angular at the ends. Deep and beautiful brown eyes. With little heart shaped lips, faint yet long eyebrows, and a distinct little chin. Her two front teeth are just a tiny bit bigger than usual which you can see for yourself when she gives a big smile. And what a smile it is.

She has a very fair complexion. Rosy and creamy skin that is lighter in her chest and midsection. Not pale her complexion is a really agreeable mix with her reddish and paler skin tones. Made even better when contrasted with her jet black hair. I love the pale skin to dark hair contrast, a look Iori has. A great looker she has a bit of girl next door quality to her. Pretty but not jaw droppingly beautiful, she has an approachable and pleasantness that makes her just as alluring. A nice all around face that should please anybody.

 Slender Figure

Now onto her sweet body. Iori is in many ways your classic slender type. Flatter and not very busty but wowing you with her hourglass like figure. She has a smaller than average bust with her small C cups. Small but not super tiny they do have some heft for how small they are. With dark areolas and thick little nipples, her little boobs deserved much more play than they got during her career. The pitfalls of the small chested. In her career she’s flirted between full more normal weight and the slimness you see in most AV actresses. At any weight she’s always been, for the better, more bottom heavy.

The best thing about Iori’s body are, hands down, her ultra-wide hips. A svelte waist to a curvy and jutting set of hips to give her just a slight and faint hourglass like appearance. There’s women with curvier asses and slimmer waists but Iori has the combination that is just right. Not too much and not too little. She has got a great bottom half. A big round ass with a nice shape, fat, and tightness to it. Through her career it has fluctuated between being pretty fat and jiggly to more toned and tighter. All helped by a set of full and ample thighs, great hefty thighs.  A great ass overall and easily her best physical asset next to her fine figure.

A prime example of personality over looks, Iori is a delight both in an out of bed. Charismatic, playful, expressive, emotional, and one seriously horned up slut; she can convey a whole spectrum of herself. Either as the submissive waif or as the loving girlfriend. With her acting skills she can carry plot heavy titles. Dark dramas or weirder off beat comedies. She has a handful of lesbian titles but not enough in my opinion. Some rougher and more hardcore titles too. She seemed to be looser and open with her title choices in the middle of her career and mellowed out a bit later on. Less hardcore and rough sex titles sadly. She really excels in POV and intimate titles, getting up close and personal with the viewer. Which makes sense as to why SOD transitioned her to VR titles so heavily later on. Very personable and pleasing, Iori has played the intimate slash girlfriend role in loads of her titles with a big focus of it in POV heavy videos. I’ve described Iori as all around so much today and that is the best way to describe her. There are curvier, bustier, prettier, and better performing actresses out there. But Iori is that overall mix of everything that makes an actress great with an indiscernible factor that makes her so alluring. If she were a bowl a porridge she would be juuust right. A pretty and pleasing conventional beauty with a fine slender figure and one awesome set of hips. She can act as well as anybody and can get nice and loose in bed to boot. Iori Kogawa is a great actress from head to toe, inside and out, and easily deserving of your time and attention.
