JAV Career Movements: Nami Hoshino retires after Eight Years, to Open Own Business

Maybe Nami Hoshino 星野ナミ, now 28, hasn’t been a huge attention grabber for some time now.  It’s pretty difficult for a eight years veteran to stay in the top rank.  But Nami Hoshino did well for herself, staying on as S1 exclusive idol until late last year. Then she transferred to Attackers, and now, less then one year in Attackers, she announced her retirement with the upcoming September release (link on DMM/Fanza, or try this link on R18 after Sept 7th, 2020) to be her swansong.  

According to persons with knowledge (in Chinese), she had planned her post-JAV phase of life well in advance.  Even before departure with S1, she told her agency Glanzpro to stop booking events.  It seems she was already preparing for retirement.  Then leaving S1 and transferring to Attackers, a far less demanding work environment, was probably also her own initiative.  Now some more vague details are being disclosed, she will be opening her own (small?) business and have already found suitable business partner(s).  While details is scant, the manners and styles of disclosure suggest her future plan doesn’t involve any adult entertainment and in fact most likely have nothing to do with publicity.  So I wouldn’t be surprised if she will fade away from public eye, assuming her new business is viable.  Since Attackers does do retirement titles for departing idols, her farewell will be a standard Attackers plot line title with just the added words “total retirement” on the DVD cover.  If she had stayed with S1 to the end, most like she will get a nice retirement title with cake, flowers and emotional speeches.  But it seems she has the concerns of her future business is on her mind, rather than a sentimental exit stage left.  Anyway this is still a far more responsible (to her fans) farewell then like, Yuu Asakura 麻倉憂 also of Glanzpro, who just up and disappeared without saying good-bye in 2018.

She made about 10 solo titles with h.m.p., most likely completing a one-year contract, before joining premier studio S1 as exclusive contract idol in 2013.  And with S1 she stayed as exclusive for over six years, making over 70 solo titles, and appeared in some duets and grand orgies.
