JAV Sales Report - February 2025

Welcome to the February Sales Report. Let's go see who kicked some ass this month!

Sometimes when I look at Yui Thiccano I can hardly believe what I’m looking at. I haven’t always been a huge fan of her but I’ve grown to like her over the years. And perhaps repaying that kindness Yui has decided to grow a huge pair of boobs. They’re up what, at least two sizes from what I can see and there looks to be no stopping them. I’m not necessarily sure I want them to get bigger if only because I know the path is to more weight gain. I’ve been enjoying Thiccano and want to see her plumpness but I do think there’s a point at which it becomes too much. G cup Yui is good for me and I don’t really want to see what her body would look like if it went to J cup. Even in this photo it seems like her boobs might even veer into H cup. Considering that Moodyz officially still lists her as D cup she might have doubled in cup sizes. Honestly, I think I should probably watch more Yui…

Julia working for Moodyz is a sight for sore eyes. That’s not to say that she hasn’t been getting quality opportunities with the five studios she’s been working for so much as it is that it’s nice to see variety. And let’s face it, she looks nice as an older housekeeper in her naked apron. Hentai adaptations can be a bit hit or miss but I’m looking forward to this and hopeful it’s the beginning of something much greater.

Airi is an actress I think we don’t talk that much about. That’s probably largely in part to Prestige’s MG Stage website that distributes their videos as well. It can be hard to compete with those only being on DMM when your sales are cut across multiple sources. We see that as well with Faleno and SOD actresses often not making the cut. Airi is much more of a veteran than I think most people realize, having been on their roster well over a decade. And she still seems to be doing well and I think maybe this is a great opportunity to go check out a quality release from her.

One of the things I like to do is refer to how well some retired actresses do and Yua and Konan are doing quite well for themselves. Obviously there isn’t new content from them but it’s surprising to see just how well regarded they are. I think them being up a lot this month is more likely the result of sales than it is organic growth. They’re still some of the hottest in the market, Yua didn’t spend years as arguably the top idol for nothing. It will be interesting to see if they drop back off and how Konan compares to Yua.

Akari on her freelance farewell tour is doing some wonderful things. A Bibian lesbian film is exactly what the doctor ordered. I’m a little bit sad it’s not with better costars, particularly her BFF Aika Yamagishi, but I suppose beggars can’t be choosers. And who knows, there’s still time left for them to get together and have it out. Could you imagine a drama filled lesbian film of the two of them as her retirement film? They’d never do it but a man can dream.

I know I mentioned a few months ago to check up on how Yu Shinoda is doing in her retirement and now is as good a time as any. Turns out that she’s still incredibly popular, being in the top 25 again this month. Just like Yua and Konan (and others on the list) it begs a question I always ask myself: do I watch my old favourites or do I watch the new hotness? Maybe Kanna Seto could be the new Konan Koyoi, but then why not just watch Konan? Yu Shinoda had an absolutely incredible career and there aren’t that many who could compete so it’s easy to want to go back to her. We see Yua and Konan up a lot more which is to say Yu is quite stable here. I feel like part of that is the ability for studios like Moodyz to put out a best from Yu Shinoda. It’s literally 1440 minutes, or in plain English, 24 hours. That’s a lot of content, like damn. Maybe you can just leave it on all day and jerk off to it when it gets the better of you. In fact, maybe that would be something to try sometime, just leave porn on all day and see what happens…

I’ve had a few friends hype this video up and I can see why. Taking some top talent that is lesbian adverse and doing lesbian looks like a grand time. It’s got all the shades of a mini MIRD-150, which for reference is the Hitomi/Anri duo that is my all-time favourite video. I hope this is the start of something a little bit more because I’d love to see this with many pairings at SOD. If I’m being honest I’d love to see it with Rei Kamiki and Momona Koibuchi even if I think it’s unlikely given the circumstances. But hey, maybe I can get the next best thing in Rei Kamiki and Suzu Honjo. I guess I’ll just have to hope that this video is as good as people say and convinces SOD to keep at it.

I for one am super stoked that the industry has decided these are a thing again. Yeah, I haven’t seen most of the cast, but don’t let that stop people from making this content. I’ve also never really thought that hard about the logistics but it’s literally 17 actresses for 2 days 1 night which is a seriously expensive video. Like just logistically speaking it has to sell better than, let’s say 34 videos plus overhead on a lot - so let’s say 40 individual releases. Maybe they have a second set of videos like last time which brings it down to 20 if you expect the second to sell as well, but damn that’s a lot to ask for. And considering it can’t even sell better than whatever the latest Saika Kawakita film is, it really puts things into perspective.

Anyone who has been watching JAV for a decade knows that the industry has changed. Among the numerous ways it has changed is their insistence on smaller scoped videos. I for one am glad to see this MINAMO video that is a return to glory days. Who remembers Ai Uehara playing a nurse having sex in an elevator with a dude in a wheelchair? If it sounds weird to you that’s only because they’ve kept the good stuff from us for so long that you’re not used to it. This sort of video that seems more wild and open is exactly what they’ve been missing. Sure, MINAMO’s is a far cry from that incredible Ai Uehara video, but it’s definitely more entertaining than stuff we’ve seen in years and I’m excited to see more and more of it.

On the flip side to the industry doing some good things is the industry doing some bad things. Just, what is this? Are we VTubers now? Do people enjoy this thing? You could have real people having real sex not this VTuber garbage. I’d say this is complete trash but it’s on this list somehow. Is it time we lose faith in humanity? I know there’s all sorts of hentai and maybe one should just treat it more like that instead. Maybe if you give me someone with larger than life tits I’ll take a gander but for now, why have this when you could have hot chicks instead?

Kanna Seto (瀬戸環奈) continues to be the new hotness and it feels like we’re all supposed to be giant fans. I guess maybe people are just looking for the next Saika replacement now that she’s taking a break. Is Kanna the one? She’s certainly making a case for herself, though there’s a lot of names right behind her. I can’t even keep up with all the new actresses on their roster, there’s like at least 10 just in the top 25 alone. She’s certainly making a case for herself no doubt but considering how popular Saika is and the debut buff it’s hard to tell if she has that staying power. Honestly though I don’t think S1 has to worry, if Bookmate is representative of anything I think they’ll be just fine.

If you haven’t seen yet Kana Morisawa (森沢かな) was the top actress on all of DMM last year. That’s kind of crazy that she beat out Saika, though not completely surprising. She was everywhere last year and the fact that I watched her a handful of times is evidence of just how fantastic of a year she had. She’s still getting great jobs like this video for Rebecca or a Knight's Visual release, and I’m curious to see if her career can maintain this pace long enough for her to break into even my top 100. If she does you’ll know she’s the real deal.

Iyo Shinohara (篠原いよ) was doing very well on her own and then Madonna went and gave her an even bigger buff by including her in these mega group videos. It’s like they really want her to succeed so they’re letting other girls drink her milk now too. That’s right, other hot women are suckling on those teats. 38 seems surprisingly low for what’s going on but the second video hasn’t released and who knows what we’ll end up with next month. And there are plenty of others on Madonna seeing a boost from this, especially Nao Jinguji (神宮寺 ナオ). All I know is that if you’re a fan of Iyo you’re eating good - or maybe I should say sipping good.

I’ve seen some of these how to videos and they’re a little bit mediocre when you don’t speak Japanese. Or maybe they’re just mediocre because who wants to watch them explain how to have sex when you could just listen. Maybe if I wanted to actually educate myself I’d watch to research, but let’s be real, I’m always watching to get off. This one though, I don’t really know what to make of it. Is it how to peg a guy and make him enjoy it? Like… what? I mean, I guess some dudes are into pegging, but to make a full on video for it? I guess where there’s a will there’s a way, right? You can only come up with so many ideas until you’ve got to come up with this one, so I guess this is a thing now. Maybe I’ll hope this one crashes and burns because I don’t like pegging, but knowing Kanae Yumemi (夢実かなえ) she’ll do a fantastic job and convince many to follow suit.

While I haven’t personally peeked at her I know some others who are stupid happy to see her. I will admit that her ass is fantastic and studios seem to be doing a good job at it. I’ve seen Chitose Saegusa do this series and they evidently focused on her tits, so seeing them do a 180 and focus on what Aya brings to the table is nice. I still feel like Aya’s career hasn’t quite gotten the opportunities she should be getting but maybe I should also ignore that and just bask in that ass.It’s been a little bit since Aya returned to the industry and it’s high time we took a look at how she’s doing. Hibiki Otsuki’s (大槻ひびき) February was kind of bland in my opinion, a lot of the generic stuff you see, but she’s always been popular enough to do well. Her March, however, has two absolutely incredible videos that a lot of people I know are excited for. And as much as those people are excited for these, none of them are as excited as I am to watch them. They look absolutely stellar and I’m looking forward to reporting back that they’re must watch videos for the year. If Hibiki doesn’t go way up the list next month you’ll know this is rigged.

Airi Kijima (希島あいり) is in an interesting spot right now with her being a semi-freelancer. I say Semi because the covers show her being on loan from IP but then, back to back videos where she’s on loan without an IP video is odd. Last month had just her first video for Das but March has her starring in the most well known series of them all for Wanz Factory. It is good to see actresses like her get a shot in major series like this as basically anyone who’s anyone gets to this series. Makes me hope that we can get many more cases like this, I’d love to see Kana Momonogi or Momo Sakura take it on, and that’s jus the Idea Pocket actresses. At any rate we’ll have to see how long Airi keeps up this weird freelance situation.

Has anyone noticed the anal fiend that Ena Satsuki (沙月恵奈) has become? I know I reviewed her first anal video on the blog last year but since then she’s had a lot of anal videos. Hell, February saw her do two anal videos. Who would have guessed she’d learn to absolutely love it? Anal in JAV is always a little mid but sometimes it can be really great when coupled with deepthroating roughness or some triple hole action. And maybe that’s where Ena will end up when the dust settles, that would definitely be nice and what I’ll hope to see from her.
