Welcome to the first sales report of 2023. It's always a bit awkward that these things are a month behind, so even though it's February it's the first report for 2023 data. Before we get started I've decided to cut the debut data out of this month because the data just isn't great. I'll have to figure out something to get better data because as it stands it just doesn't make sense at all. Anyway, let's get this show on the road.

Top Actresses

Mizuki Yayoi is an actress that I watched for new to me last year and she wasn't overly impressive to me. She has a great ass but that's about it, and I remember commenting about how I wasn't impressed by her fake tits. Why do I bring up my opinion? Because the community consensus is that she is fantastic and that I'm wrong. Say what you want but she's clearly doing something right to be that high on the list. I know she's been upping her release count lately and she's had a few bangers from what I've been told. In fact, Panking's got a review if the video I singled out up above and it looks like it's one to watch. I'm still not sold on her but maybe I'll take Pan's advise and give her another shot.

This month has Yui placing on the physical side of things, which is a rarity for sure. You can see she didn't place last month and generally speaking she's placing more on the digital side than the physical side. The physical side tends to be crowded by debuts and exclusive actresses, and Yui is the exact opposite. I am glad to see her there though as she's been so great for so long and deserves the spotlight once in a while. I know I tend to point out when Yui does poorly instead of when she does well, which is more a factor of her consistently doing well. Anyway, I can't begin to understand what's got her up here, the first video up above is the one that sold well. Yui's Rebecca release doesn't look half bad either, and it's remarkable how she's still at it 15 years later (which is coming up this summer) but also still looks great. Yui's just been such a dominant force for so long and I can only hope she keeps going at it. There are plenty of actresses that have been around for a long time but those actresses (like Yumi Kazama) started so long ago nobody remembers their early days. I've been commenting about how Yui is in the MILF phase of her career and I'll be excited to see what she's like 5, 10, or even another 15 years from now. Here's to Yui's continued longevity and success!

Konan seems to be a crowd pleaser and unlike Mizuki I can get behind Konan. Konan's continued to impress me, whether it's how solid of a performer she's turned out to be, her big tits, or how much prettier I keep finding her. Konan is more or less around my ideal physical qualities of big tits and a slightly thicc body. Anyway, this month she's got a fan reverse pick up video. I tend not to enjoy these ones as the content can be kind of lame but if there's anyone on S1's roster capable of doing this justice it's actually probably Konan. I'm still a bit weary of how well it would actually turn out but the fans are definitely banking on it considering Konan's jumped so far up this month.

Aipan is up quite high this month, barely sneaking into our top 25. That's almost certainly thanks to her getting a Rebecca release this month. When it comes to image videos I tend to find myself strongly gravitating toward those with exceptional physical qualities, and I think Aika has one such quality. It's not her ass and it's certainly not her tits but it's how beautiful she is. I typically have her in my top 20 of all time somewhere and I stand by that. She's very pretty and even though she's now in her 30s (she debuted in her mid 20s) she's still as pretty as ever. It's kind of baffling to me that Aika is only on her third Rebecca release but I guess there's a ton of great actresses out there getting releases. At any rate, if you're into image videos this one looks like a good one.

Kaho Imai's latest came out a few days ago as a VR release. I can't say that it looks special but Kaho has always struck me as someone you enjoyed more for her looks than her performing. One thing I will say is that I hope this isn't her last release, because she announced recently that she's shutting down her Fancentro and taking a break. It's not clear if she's planning to retire but actresses who take a break don't have a history of doing great things after. I know we saw fellow debut classmate Ruka Inaba do the same and retire, or Touka Rinne have a pretty half-hearted comeback before ultimately retiring as well. Kaho was definitely among my top three debuts in her year and it's always sad to see someone you enjoy go. I can't say that I'm the biggest Kaho fan, and I've honestly grown out of her a bit over the years, but she's still a solid actress. Anyway, here's hoping Kaho just needs a bit of a break and isn't gone for good.

I feel like the JAV gods have been listening to me with this one because it's exactly what I've been looking for: a legitimately interesting video for Riho Fujimori since joining SOD's Kirei label. I know work from home isn't as popular in Japan as it is elsewhere but it's such an easy out for office videos that they ought to use it more. I've seen it work well in some other videos and it looks like it'll work out well in this one. It's already dropped and something I'll probably be checking out later this month.

Yuria has got an interesting February with this release from Wanz Factory. It's a really fun series where they have to get the guy to cum in 10 minutes or he gets to have creampie sex with them. Yuria seems like someone who could do a great job of it, partially because of her tits but also partially because she can do things like deepthroat. Seeing Yuria in this also reminds me of how we never got to see Hitomi in it. It's been many months now since Hitomi's retired and there's just no filling that void. Yuria probably comes closer than anyone does but she's just not Hitomi. Sure, Yuria is great (and I do enjoy her a fair bit) but it's just been different without Hitomi. Ay any rate, I'm sure this will be a fun one to watch and one I look forward to checking out.

Top Videos

First up here I want to shout out Idea Pocket, who have gotten through their IPX code finally and are now on IPZZ. People may remember back when they had the IPZ code, which was like 5-6 years ago. If you don't know about the codes, simply put studios uniquely identify their videos by using a code for the video, an alpha portion that identifies the studio/label and then a numerical one to indicate the release number, where the release numbers typically go up to 999 before we start anew. Anyway, some of the veterans on their roster, like Momo Sakura and Minami Aizawa, started long enough to have had some releases on the IPZ code. Anyway, both Momo and Minami's releases this month don't look particularly amazing but I will say that the two are easily still my favourites on their roster and I think are just generally fan favourites too. You tend to find strong followings for individual actresses when they're exclusive actresses and Momo or Minami doing well any individual month wouldn't ever surprise me.

Is that 中出し I spot on the cover of Rei Kamiki's video? It's sure not to be that interesting of a video but seeing her do creampies is wonderful. I picked her as one of my favourite debuts from last year, giving her an S ranking, and I'm happy to see SOD getting the job done. Giving her access to creampie videos is a great start, especially when we're under a year into her career. I already had high hopes for her and things just seem to be going the way I had hoped.

Forget Yua's latest video, we've got a crazy one there. 50 releases? 8 hours? As far as I can tell, it's got 8 hours from 50 different releases. That's just shy of 10 minutes per release, which seems wild to me. I can't fathom how you're supposed to actually enjoy a video like that, it's not even full scenes at that point. I'm not one to watch these sort of collections but I'll be damned if it isn't still tempting to get that much content. I think especially when you do it over a long period like this, you get to see the way the actress changes over the years, through different looks and as they improve their performing. Again, I'm still baffled how this even manages to make sense so if someone actually does end up watching it, let me know how it actually goes.

I can only surmise S1 has had some recent sales because why else would Maple Princess (Kaede Hinata) have two of her older releases up high? I always wonder how debuts do as their time in the industry goes on and Kaede has had a bit of turbulence. She debuted back in August and her fourth release for S1 is due out later this year. That's really unimpressive results, especially when you're exclusive to a studio that releases every month. I know the new law is a thing but I'm guessing this is more than that and Kaede just hasn't been regularly filming with them. At any rate, I'm glad she didn't just disappear, is seeing some renewed success, and hopefully we'll see some more consistent releases from her in the near future.

This is probably the shortest sales report we've had, which maybe isn't a bad thing. These things can get kind of long, I just start writing and writing and suddenly it's pretty long. Part of me doesn't mind it as it helps me get out other articles sooner. At any rate, here's hoping that this is another good year for JAV. Until next time!
