Meeting the JAV Stars of AVN 2017

When R18 announced they would be back at AVN 2017 at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas you can bet I booked a plane ticket and hotel room right away to go back! Like 2016 I bought the VIP package to make sure I'd get in earlier than general admission to spend more time with the actresses and to avoid the long lines of general admission. Would 2017 be as fun and exciting as 2016? Let's find out!

With AVN 2017 R18 only brought 4 actresses rather than the 13 they brought in 2016. It was OK to only bring the 4 as the 4 they brought were the heavy hitters of the JAV industry, Anri Okita, Hitomi Tanaka, JULIA, and Kaho Shibuya.

I really wish R18 had sold those white parka the actresses were wearing so I could have had 2 autographed by all of them, 1 in 2016 and 1 in 2017.

With less actresses they also decreased their booth space to maybe 4, minimum 3 booths. On one side of the booth there were autograph tables and for small scale events as well. On the other side was a photo spot staged area. The photo spot was cordoned off to prevent fans from getting too close but close enough to take great pictures and video.

They also had a pocky eating event where a large pocky was stuck in between the actresses breasts and lucky fans got to eat chow down on the pocky stick while getting closer and closer to the actresses breasts. Before you got too close staff did stop you but it was still an exciting event. I bet you know who I volunteered to eat pocky from, Hitomi Tanaka!

The sit on the "event chair throne" was also brought back from 2016 where fans got to sit down and have their photos taken with the lovely actresses surrounding them.

On the autograph table there was also "oppai caligraphy events" where the actresses would stick a large caligraphy brush between their ample breasts and draw a kanji or word with it. Anri, who is skilled in drawing, hand drew a dragon to celebrate being at AVN.

As word got out the JAV actresses had returned to AVN many of the other talents came to the booth to reconnect and take pictures with them. Let's see if you recognize any of them.

When the actresses had breaks from the booth they used that time to walk around AVN to also find other talents to reconnect and take commemorative photos with them.

There was also booths they visited for fun, like Penthouse's booth where Anri got on the cover of Penthouse with the help of a green screen.

As they had table space to sit down more often with no big podium to stand on throughout the day I saw they were interviewed more often by people in the industry.

There didn't seem to be time that year for the actresses to go outside of the hotel to have fun so they had to have fun in their hotel rooms instead!

At the end of AVN the actresses attended the AVN Awards again in formal wear. I had a nice spot along the red carpet again to get a clear shot of them to take photos as they came down the red carpet.

Was AVN 2017 as good as 2016? I would say it was just as fun, even with less actresses! There was new events to participate in and with just the 4 of them you got to see them interact with each other on a smaller scale in person that you'd likely never see anytime or anywhere else.

Sadly this was the last time R18 would attend AVN and bring JAV actresses with them. They never came back in following years and with R18 shutting down it's likely you won't see JAV actresses appear again at AVN unless they go by themselves, like what Kaho Shibuya did with AVN 2018. You can only hope someone else will bring the JAV world back to AVN but time will tell if that will happen.
