As I'm sure you're all aware by now, New to Me is a series where I check out new actresses and give first impressions of them. While I've found a lot of great actresses over the years, I find I generally try to watch actresses that I think I would like. The core of New to Me is actually meant for me to find actresses I wouldn't normally watch because my own biases can be pretty strong. Everyone knows I love huge tits and there are countless actresses my bias removes from the pool. There are many such actresses that I have actually come to quite enjoy (Hibiki Otsuki, Akari Mitani, Aika Yamagishi, and Minami Aizawa, just to name a few). People may not know this but I often let friends of mine pick actresses that I watch to ensure I get some of that variety. That's exactly what we have in this special edition.

Fried Chikan and I are two writers that have pretty opposite views on the women we enjoy. However, one thing we do share in common is that we both frequently write about actresses we're watching for the first time, especially those that we wouldn't normally watch. That brings us to today. FC and I both selected a series of seven videos by seven actresses the other has never seen for each other to watch and review. As I mentioned, what made this one fun and interesting was how opposing our views are, FC recommending a bunch of flat and slender women for me whereas I was recommending busty and curvy women for him. If you're interested in reading FC's article you can find it here. With that said, let's jump into the reviews.

Airi Kijima

Physically

• Facially she was alright, a bit more plain and mature than the cover would suggest but still alright.
• Boobs were flat A cup, not for me whatsoever.
  • Nipples were reasonably perky although a bit unclear if my enjoyment was more on the side grasping for something.
• Ass was not curvy either; definitely on the wrong side of average.
• I enjoyed her bush, a bit on the bushier side without being unruly.

Performing

• Her performing was a bit mixed, great sometimes and mediocre other times.
  • Great in the first scene when she was being dominant.
  • Pretty lacking when she could get away with being submissive.
• Generally speaking, I felt like she defaulted to submissive more than she ought to have, as if it was her default mode and she could be a bit more dominant only if nudged to do so.

• Great office theme with some risky elements thrown in.
• Mediocre final scene as it eliminated both the office theme and the risky aspect.
  • Knowing Airi was the boss and seeing her in work attire to start the scene wasn't enough to carry that theme.
• Great production quality the whole time from outfits to lighting to camera angles.
• Enjoyable creampies to give the video a little something extra.

Rating - D

It is unlikely I will ever watch them again and I won't be paying any attention to them.

As much as I think her face is okay I don't think that's enough for me to be interested in her again. The rest of her wasn't my cup of tea and, especially as an exclusive actress, there are just better actresses at Idea Pocket. I simply find myself recognizing there's half a dozen actresses there I would prefer to watch, or even other actresses I haven't seen that I would prefer to watch for the first time over watching Airi a second time. I wouldn't totally count her out, which is more to say that I'm not totally against her, just that I can't really imagine a world where I actively seek out Airi. It would really take a perfect storm for me to watch her again, something like a proper Beauty Venus video with other actresses I like. If I were a betting man I would bet against me watching her again.

Airi Suzumura

Physically

• Airi's ass stood out to me as her best physical quality. It was nicer than I first anticipated, especially since she knew how to position it to make it look even nicer.
• Her boobs weren't flat but they weren't for me. I didn't care much for the shape and you all know my preferences.

Performing

• Airi deepthroated decently, not enough to make me go wow but enough to make me take a second look.
• Airi's expressions were actually pretty solid and helped you buy into the plot.
• Airi's ability to completely stop moaning when the scene called for it was insane, I'm not sure I've ever seen someone that capable.

• The video had a complex plot that I found I enjoyed a bit less because I couldn't follow it very well; it was, however, the only bad aspect of the video.
• Some rougher sex mixed with scenarios where Airi was in charge made the video feel like it had it all.
• Airi's performing matched the different scenes and was varied throughout the video.
• The attention to detail with the outfits and settings was great.
• Airi having different states of undress in the video, ranging from fully clothed intercourse to fully nude, was very much appreciated.

Rating - B

I plan to watch them again eventually.

It goes without saying but there are many ways an actress can stand out. You can stand out by having a really good physical quality, being a great performer, being decent in every category, or somewhere in between. I found enough pleasant things from Airi to not toss her aside as someone I outright wouldn't watch, but at the same time I wasn't wowed in enough ways that I want to go running for the hills and watching her again. I think I would be rather open to watching other performances where she was expected not to moan, perhaps something more dominant, because that stuff was quite good. I feel pretty confident that a few of those already exist and that people will help me find them, so who knows, maybe I'll find myself watching her again sooner rather than later.

Ichika Matsumoto

Physically

• While her face lacked the maturity I normally like, her expressiveness was quite nice and made me a bit more accepting of it.
• Flat as a pancake and the exact opposite of what I like.
• A pretty nice ass that I could be happy about.
  • On her skinny frame it stood out a lot, especially since she doesn't have other curvy qualities.

Performing

• Really great expressiveness that was not only good in general but very appropriate for the video as well.
• A bit hit or miss during intercourse but the fact she could still keep up some expressions the plot called for made me fall more on a happier side than not.
• I found her petite figure made me more accepting of her moaning in that sort of "tiny chick big dick" way.
• Some bonus deepthroating for good measure that was rather enjoyable; difficult to say she's generally good at it but enough that I would be inquisitive about it.

• An interesting plot that had Ichika asking for some help practicing her sex skills.
• The video felt pretty organic in how things escalated from simply a blowjob to full-blown sex.
• Even managed some risky action behind the kitchen counter for good measure.
• An emphasis on "air blowjobs" that made Ichika feel quite playful but also a sexual deviant.
• Ichika was upbeat a playful in a way that seemed to fit the video and her quite nicely.
• A nice variety of positions and a good amount of opportunities for them to take turns being in-charge.

Rating - C

I am open to watching them again if the right content comes around.

I think the C rating is just the average of some qualities I like and don't like. Physically she's not really for me and I'm not the least bit surprised. On the flip side, other qualities like her performing or her career stand out as being really good. I can't say that I'll never watch her again, nor can I say I'm looking forward to watching her again. I would say that I'm open to it, which is to say that if the right content is there I won't immediately shut it down because Ichika is in it. For example, I know she's starred with Ruka Inaba before and while that was content I might have written off before because of Ichika, I wouldn't write it off the same way now. If I had to guess I would expect I will watch her again, largely because she's one of the top actresses in the business and it seems impossible a good video won't come around.

Luna Tsukino

Physically

• Luna looked to be right in that sweet spot where she has some maturity to her but could still play younger roles, which I greatly appreciated.
• Luna's boobs were pretty non-existent, and you all know how I feel about that.
• Luna's ass was pretty nice, not quite top 10 but I see what people are talking about.

Performing

• Luna was pretty bad with her moaning, some of the worst I've seen since Aimi Yoshikawa. She literally couldn't keep her voice down when she needed to and it ruined the video.

• The combination of cheating behind her back and hotel room vacation didn't work out; always having to be together created some less than ideal opportunities.
• Luna's moaning was so bad you just couldn't buy into the narrative.
• Luna's clothing was rather mixed, being casual and not tempting at all (which you normally see in these kinds of videos).
  • I did find sometimes it wasn't half bad, particularly the tank top that let you focus more on her nice ass.
• While POV was certainly welcomed they kind of half-assed it to a point that it felt pretty bad.
• The camera angles in general often didn't give you good views of her body, often being a bit too close and having too much of her body out of frame.

Rating - C

I am open to watching them again if the right content comes around.

I think that, more or less, the only reason she didn't get a D was her ass. It's nice enough that I could be convinced to watch her again despite all the other failings of her character. I wouldn't say I'm excited about that prospect nor do I actively want to, it's just that in the right situation I wouldn't outright refuse it.

Nanami Kawakami

Physically

• Facially she had an interesting face with some maturity to it, and generally speaking fell into a group I typically enjoy quite a bit.
  • Her face seemed a bit unique to me, and uniqueness means standing out.
• She had small B-cup boobs that just weren't for me. It's rare that I even watch actresses that flat and it's certainly not because of their boobs.
• Her body was quite slender, which was both a good and bad thing for her. Good in the sense that she was in shape, but being a twig meant her ass was going to suffer a bit (and it did).

Performing

• Facial expressions and mannerisms were very on point for the video, really setting the mood.
• The performance during intercourse was hit or miss, sometimes it felt like she bought into the scenes and other times she just went with the flow.
• Some pretty solid deepthroating from her, both from times the guy was shoving it down her throat and when she did it herself.
  • I could definitely see myself watching more of her to see just how good she is.

• I liked the attention to detail on her character, being someone from high society who treated her butlers poorly. It set the stage very nicely for the video.
• The roughness of her butler turning on her wound up being quite nice and seeing him go the extra mile, for example when he was choking her.
  • It really felt like he was taking out his frustration on her.
• The roughness of the action in general made all the sex quite enjoyable, from her getting ravaged to deepthroated.
• The lighting was hit or miss, sometimes a little too dark or too bright.
  • The bathroom scene in particular was so bright that it was hard to see the content. 
• The outfits from both of them were great and really fit the story.
• Nanami's hairdos also really fit the character and made it more enjoyable.

Rating - A

I will definitely watch them again.

I'll admit that I was a bit torn on where exactly to place Nanami. There are certainly some downsides to her, particularly around her curves, but on the flip side I found myself quite enjoying her face. I definitely don't say this enough but curves aren't everything, and I regularly find less curvy actresses that I can enjoy. I ultimately think the deciding factor for me was that her career is in a fantastic place right now. As I look through some recent videos she's had I can see a number I would be potentially interested in. That bodes really well for her and especially as she keeps producing great content before her inevitable retirement, I find myself just wanting to watch her again. I would genuinely be surprised if I don't watch her again in the not too distant future and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I watched her a couple more times.

Rin Azuma

Physically

• I didn't care for her face and I'm not sure why; maybe it was too plain and dolled up a bit to make it look okay.
• Her boobs were more enjoyable than I would have expected. Not quite Oppaira size but big a nice shape and firmness.
• Her ass was missing, does anyone know where it was?

Performing

• She understood what to do and did a fantastic job of staying committed to it. I find it's rare to see actresses do a pretty ideal performance and stick to it throughout.
• She was a bit too hyper-focused on the acting style and it felt like we needed a bit of a change of pace or even just her being more cognizant of what she was doing.
  • For example, there were times where you wondered how she didn't get caught because she was too focused and being loud.

• Exhibitionist style plot was pretty enjoyable, and I didn't have any complaints about it being random scenes instead of a cohesive story.
• Good variety on the scenarios, from a blowjob in the library or washroom to sex in a classroom or office.
• I felt like there was maybe a bit too much of a blowjob emphasis.
• I wish Rin had kept her voice down just a bit at times where it was appropriate to do so (like in the library).
• When her performing wasn't quite there on the side of expressions or moaning, at least she was still quite energetic with the way she was moving her body.

Rating - D

It is unlikely I will ever watch them again and I won't be paying any attention to them.

Honestly I just don't see myself ever watching Rin again. I find these days there are a lot of good actresses and I need to be a lot more picky to keep myself sane. I just wasn't enjoying Rin's face plus her ass was awful, and I just don't see myself that interested in more of her. It's a bit awkward though because she did have some solid qualities, particularly her boobs being great for their size. I think one big thing that stands out to me is why am I watching them over a different actress I already know and love. I think in many cases someone like Kaho Kasumi is really going to trump Rin in my books. I just look at Kaho and see someone better than Rin in every quality.

Yura Kano

Physically

• Yura lacked any maturity to her appearance that I typically like, and I found myself not all that attracted to her.
  • She did at least fit the schoolgirl persona quite nicely.
• Her boobs, while relatively small, weren't half bad. They had some decent jiggle to them as well as some perky nipples.
• Her ass was alright, not the curviest but enough to enjoy

Performing

• Her blowjob technique was nothing special and she focused on other associated things to make up for it.
• Her performing during intercourse was largely generic and uninspiring.
• Yura was able to at least keep playing with a cock or balls during intercourse in a way that made you forget quite how much she was moaning.

• I thought there was way too much emphasis on the blowjobs to the point I got tired of it.
• The blowjob emphasis included a lot of ball attention and rimming which didn't add anything beneficial.
• The outfit variety helped add something fun to the video, especially the bloomers and glasses.
• The video had some fun setups as Yura was always the one dictating.
• The video had variety between the gym, classroom, etc.

Rating - D

It is unlikely I will ever watch them again and I won't be paying any attention to them.

I just don't see the hype in Yura that others do. That's probably likely because she ticks so few boxes for me. The lack of maturity and curves really goes against everything I typically like. Like a dominant, thicc, busty MILF in their 30s is my sweet spot and Yura is literally none of those qualities. I do think that the blowjobs being so mediocre impacted how much I enjoyed both the video and her, and maybe with a more enjoyable video I might not have given her a straight up D. But considering I did give her such a low rating, I just don't see myself watching her. Especially knowing she's at a studio with 30 actresses on their roster, there's just so much else to watch instead. The fact that I can list out a dozen actresses for S1, off my head, that I would prefer to watch doesn't bode well for Yura. It's also worth reminding people that this rating is my own and based on my preferences. I don't actually think that Yura is that bad, it's just I doubt I will ever watch her again.

Conclusion

As I reflect back on how this went I think it's best to start from the very beginning. I decided to reach out to do this trade because I thought it would be fun and interesting. I came into this knowing that the results might not be that great given how far apart FC and I tend to be on our preferences. The results also turned out exactly how I thought they would, being a whole letter grade lower than the average for new actresses I watch. That being said, I can't actually complain about the choices, and, in fact, I'm actually relatively happy about them. There were a few actresses among them that show up in sales reports that I always say to myself "I ought to watch them" but never do due to my obvious preferences. Being nudged to check them out like this is something I can't even be upset about, regardless of whether I enjoyed them or not.

I think in looking at new actresses I've noticed that the more actresses I watch the harsher I am as a critic. That's just the reality of watching so many actresses that the ones you come back to really need to stand out. I've reviewed videos from over 300 different actresses during the pandemic and that's kind of a staggering amount of actresses in the span of only a couple years. Many of these actresses are fine actresses in their own right, but when it comes to me going back to them it's just so difficult to manage. It turns out that for new actresses I watch, half of them I never watch again. So really, being a harsh critic is more of a concession to reality given years of watching new actresses and just the sheer number of actresses I pay attention to.

If there are any I expect to watch again, Nanami Kawakami is definitely the one. She was someone I found myself enjoying, and her career is in a really great spot. She's got entries in quite a few series I've enjoyed and I can totally see myself checking out some of them. I would be a bit surprised if she became one of my favourites knowing her retirement is looming but at least I can be happy that one actress turned out to be fairly enjoyable.
