Oppaira's JAV Draft: Idea Pocket

Hey guys, Oppaira back at it bringing you another draft. Today we've got a roster that I've been excited to do from the start, Idea Pocket. In my mind they've got a clear identity despite lacking the physical identity of the two I've done so far, Oppai and Fitch so let's go see what I have in mind for them.

Idea Pocket is a studio that has been around for a long time, more than 20 years now. Throughout their years they have often been considered one of the top studios in the industry. Part of their selling point has been to have some of the top actresses in the industry including names like Aino Kishi, Jessica Kizaki, Kaho Kasumi, and Minori Hatsune, among newer faces like Momo Sakura, Minami Aizawa, and Kana Momonogi. IP has always had high quality production values leading to videos that just look immaculate between the amazing women and visual greatness. They have always had a fair variety of content they produce ranging from generic videos you see everyone doing like soapland, hotel room with your boss, and a hot springs trip. Despite their move to split the studio and have Attackers (their sister studio) do the more hardcore stuff, Idea Pocket still manages to do much of the same. Their roster might not rival in size to S1 or Madonna these days but they've always prided themselves on having a few solid gems on their exclusive roster.

First and foremost my philosophy for the roster is to focus on a more cute (or kawaii if you will) visual appeal. The studio does a decent amount of variety but at the end of the day it's a roster that typically values physical qualities, especially facially. They tend to have more of the idol look than any other roster out there and you tend to get those younger, cuter looking women. This is true of both actresses who have been on their roster for a while as well as newer actresses, at least for the most part anyway.

I think at the same time IP is a roster that tends to have mixed opinions about other physical qualities. Sometimes you get an actress like Himeka Iori with huge boobs, sometimes you get an actress like Minami Aizawa with a nice ass. It just kind of all depends on the time of day and you roll with the punches. I feel like they typically do want one or two of each to add some variety to their roster, especially when they don't have other factors like age to work with.

I would break down their current roster into three categories: the aces, the veterans that aren't as popular, and the newcomers.

For the aces we have Kana Momonogi, Karen Kade, and Momo Sakura. These are the three biggest and most consistent actresses on their roster. They've been around for a few years each and have proven themselves to have the adoration of many fans. While we did very recently see Minami Aizawa (one of their aces) retire they've still got three strong aces with Kana, Karen, and Momo.

Second up are the veterans that aren't quite as popular. Airi Kijima certainly stands at the top there but we've got others like Yume Nishimiya, Tsumugi Akari, and Hikari Azusa. This isn't to say that they aren't popular but that they just stand a step or two down from the aces of the roster.

Lastly we have the newcomers and a studio like Idea Pocket can certainly attract a lot of major newcomers. They get plenty of newcomers every year and this year has quite a bunch, especially on the bustier side, including Mitsuri Nagahama, Nozomi Shirahama, or most recently Marina Yakuno, who have G, J, and H cup boobs respectively.

Airi Kijima is the lone actress I think has to go. She's simply too mature for the look that Idea Pocket is going for. Airi is in her mid 30s now and it shows. She simply doesn't fit that more kawaii aesthetic that the roster goes for and even if I like diversity I don't think maturity is what the studio wants. Maybe back in the day you could have advocated for it during the days of Jessica Kizaki and Kaho Kasumi but not today. She had a good run and it's time to move on.

Karen Yuzuriha is an actress I have long since felt like belonged on IP's roster. She absolutely fits that more idol look especially with how fake she comes off as. I hate to say it but we all know that idols get surgery and between Karen's face and tits you know she's had some work done. Her more petite frame also adds to her youthful appearance and overall just really seems to fit the aesthetic that we're looking for. She's also extremely popular and the kind of actress that Idea Pocket wants to pick up. I've got a lot of actresses I'll be picking up who are all reasonably popular but Karen Yuzuriha could legitimately battle some others for the ace spot on their roster.

Rena Momozono is an actress that has always struck me as an Idea Pocket actress. She has that cute vibe and while she is inching closer to 30 (she's listed as 27) she feels like she's still got a few years before she hits that maturity level that does not make sense for IP. She has what I would call a baby face while maintaining a bit thiccer of a body type than IP has been tending toward recently. I like that for them especially when Rena has G cup boobs that seem a bit bigger than the average (i.e. hers seem bigger than Momo Sakura's). If you recall back to my Fitch post I already mentioned I had plans for her and this was what I always had in mind.

Hana Himesaki is also an actress I think could work well on Idea Pocket's roster. She's got that more bubbly personality you want to see and I think could rival that bubbly feeling you get watching actresses like Kana or Momo on their roster. She also has a huge pair of tits that can add some much needed depth to their roster in that department. Especially with Himeka Iori recently departing their roster, we've got a bit of a gap to fill. Yes, we did recently get Nozomi, but I've always felt like IP wanted two omega busty actresses. She's not quite as busty as Himeka (who I still think belongs on IP) but I think she should fill the gap rather nicely especially given her more spunky personality. I also honestly feel like Hana has had plenty of time as a freelancer and that I'm just not as interested in her random freelance stuff these days. Sure, she gets some videos with the big titty crowd or on Moodyz's Bako Bako Bus Tour but more and more I feel like she needs to feel like a star on a roster. Giving her more solo films that you put more stock into will surely help her become the top tier star she's capable of being.

Some people might not be fond of this choice but I think Miyu Kiyohara would do better on Idea Pocket. Of all her releases so far I think the schoolgirl one is the one that looks the best simply because it fits her look the best. She has that more kawaii appearance that I think needs to be capitalized on. I think that S1 really won't do enough of that stuff, they simply value too many other styles to make it a consistent theme for her. They would sooner have her star in another generic "I have big tits" video than something that suits her specifically. Considering that S1 already has so many actresses with even bigger tits than Miyu I find that the impact of her large boobs just isn't there compared to what it could be on IP. I suspect Idea Pocket will give her better videos where the plot might be a bit mediocre but at least the theme will capitalize better on her aesthetic.

Ruka Inaba is an actress I think would fit their roster very nicely. As some of you may be aware she announced she's back to filming and we're expecting her to have some releases starting this summer. Last time she was a freelancer and honestly I didn't much care for a lot of her releases. I kind of always felt like the films she was getting never quite cut it and so a lot of them weren't as good as they needed to be to make her shine. Giving her more opportunities as the star she could be on Idea Pocket would be great. I think at the same time Ruka would fill a void left by Minami Aizawa and her great butt. As much as I liked Minami's butt I have to give the nod to Ruka Inaba's, it was phenomenal. And as I mentioned before, I really do want IP to have at least one major butt actress and I'm A-okay with that being Ruka.

Mio Yukihira is an actress I immediately thought belonged on the IP roster the first time I saw her. I honestly found myself thinking that Mio looked like a juicier Kana Momonogi even if she's perhaps a little less pretty. I think the similarities are pretty astounding and I think there are some cool opportunities for IP with Mio on the roster, like give me a sister duo film and now we're talking. Especially if Mio slims down a bit like Kana did, I think she might really start looking like her twin. It might be a little rare to see Mio move early on but if E-Body or Madonna actresses can get dropped fast, I think we could see Mio wind up on this roster.

Mirei Uno is another actress I'm stealing from S1. I feel like S1 is a little crowded these days and as good as Mirei could be her potential is squandered a bit on a roster with quite so many actresses. I feel like if you're not at the top of S1 or one of their long time veterans then you just fall to the wayside. As someone who loves tits I find myself looking at so many other actresses than Mirei, whether that's Mei, Hikaru, or Konan from recent years, Aika or Saki from a veteran standpoint, or the newer crowd in Haru, Momoka, or Ren. I even gave Mirei a good score when I first reviewed her, it's just there's too much competition now. This town ain't big enough for the two of us is basically the name of the game and Mirei just strikes me more as an IP actress.

Moe Amatsuka is my final roster pickup. I think Moe is almost borderline too mature to fit the roster but I like her as a drop in replacement for Airi Kijima. She's six years younger than her and gives you that sense of maturity without actually looking too mature. Maybe she'll only stay on the roster for a couple of years before she starts looking too mature but I really honestly do think she fits the theme. She's got a bit of a baby face considering how youthful her appearance is despite being 29. I also think at the same time there's a lot of newer faces that I'm adding to the roster and I want to make sure that there's a good amount of veterans on the roster. In fact, Moe's just about to hit her 10 year anniversary and that would put her as the most veteran face on the roster. I'm also a bit biased in wanting to pick up Moe because most of the actresses I've been picking up have been busty

I've had a ton of fun drafting IP's roster. One of the things that has made it a blast to do is to actually give them a really strong claim to the idol type. Even though some of the actresses I'm moving to IP are major names on other rosters I think it just fits their roster a little better. I've found that they often lack a clear direction and like SOD or S1 just hedge their bets on the quality of the actress instead of a clear identity. Considering how difficult it can be to compete at the top I think this direction makes a lot of sense. Let them focus on doing one particular thing well and let them focus on generating more videos with the themes that suit the women. Yes, one might get a bit bored of some of the content but I find I tend to want more suitable content from certain actresses. As a Kana Momonogi fan I think her best quality is how loving and adorable she is so I always want her in films that accentuate that regardless of how repetitive that might be.
