This is going to be a difficult review to write. Not because of the movie itself which is as good and in some ways better than previous MAGIC MIRROR IZAKAYA movies, but frankly, I just don't like the beach nor do I like summer. The beach? Sandy, hot, food not so great (but nice eye candy, can't deny that!). Summer? Hot, autumn or even winter please! An izakaya in late January just how a previous one may have been filmed is way more up my alley, but the magic of summer and especially of a beach in Japan during those August dog days where it's packed with people, where fireworks light up more than a few nights, when every lady who normally covers aplenty bares surprisingly without much reserve--it's a great time when looking back on it. And even more so if you had the opportunity to do a few in a makeshift studio located right on location!

I have to hand it to SADISTIC VILLAGE. What we get in MAGIC MIRROR IZAKAYA AMATEURS VS MACHINE VIBRATOR GAME SHOW 10 BEACH EDITION (yes, that is a long title and it's actually abridged compared to it's original Japanese!) is an example of really filming on location and going wild with it. This is no JAV set yet part of the actual restaurant is given over to filming. How they found an owner to let them rent it out (as it's pretty obvious regular customers are not in the background here because you may be able to hide what happens, but flimsy walls won't hold back the noise!) is anyone's guess. If you did not catch the intro and knew enough about JAV, you'd think this was all staged, but thanks to that intro, it is shown that yes, that really is a 'magic mirror' and yes, from the outside it is impossible to see in. Restaurant visitors simply see their reflection, not the sheer insanity happening on the other side.

In the 10th iteration of this great series--and with many more planned--I'm happy to see the formula not changing much, but the casting both of the hosts and of the women of course remaining on point. Abe-chan with a new friend (who coincidentally we showed in another movie this summer about friends rubbing genitals) star alongside a cast that for those who have seen the first EMBARRASSMENT SCHOOL STARK NAKED SEX LESSON movie will see nothing but familiar faces. Most likely looking to make scheduling as efficient as possible, SADISTIC VILLAGE cast the same group of women for two different shoots back-to-back. In a way, this is a genius move because since the movies are so different, you get to see the performers in vastly different environments.

The series theme remains unchanged: approach patrons and see if they want to film a fun message. After, see if they want to play a quiz show (of sorts). Of course this will be one only on 'sexy' topics and soon enough, that quiz show transitions into an impromptu "what's in the box?" where our friendly Machine Vibrator (Vaginator) is introduced. From there...well, the trailer and screenshots should be more than enough to much more efficiently demonstrate what happens more than this already prolix review can.

There are no bad scenes. Really. While this time we only get three with a slightly shorter run-time of about 190 minutes, they are all wonderful. Obviously many a fan may jump ahead to RENA FUKIISHI in the final one (whom for some reason keeps those huge sunglasses on almost to the very end), but the two previous scenes are well worth watching. I've a soft spot for KONOMI NIIKURA in the second scene. She notes that she often gets hit on by foreigners and is confused about it. The answer is really obvious and I have a feeling RENA aside, she will be the most popular of the five Japanese women taking part in this release among our audience. But really, the casting is surprisingly varied: we get gyaru (NAO KOIKE, hostess-lite like ARISU SHIBUYA, MIYUU KANADE doing what she does best, and the aforementioned KONOMI and RENA).
