Why Are Game Show JAV Brilliant and Why Aren't There More?

I've discussed the topic of "game show" JAV in a previous article, and for those who don't know what I'm talking about, let me explain. Game show JAVs often create some sort of game or game show, and add erotic or sexual elements for those playing. This results in a spectacle that is often simultaneously lewd and comical.

Naturally, I am quite fond of the concept that is a "game show" JAV, as it's a unique idea that is rarely ever explored in anything outside the JAV industry (and is, again, another example of Japan being highly creative when it comes to pornography). In this article I'm going to discuss why I think game show type movies are so great on a number of different levels.

Arguably the best part about game show JAVs is that there is a new idea with almost every movie. Each movie has a set of "contestants" and they are usually pit against others in a team to try and win. In order to win, they usually must perform something highly lewd or erotic, or perhaps have sex under certain conditions. Afterwards, the winners (or losers) are then sometimes given a perverted reward, whether it be sex or something equally stimulating.

From the number of game show movies I've seen, the actual games/challenges were always unique and/or humorously creative. I've seen game show JAV where there are two teams who must wrestle each other and have sex in a giant pool of lotion. There are ones where contestants must guess whose genitals are protruding from a wall/cardboard cutout, and they are allowed to lick/play with them. I've even seen one where a girl dangles naked from a giant crane and is moved around. You never know what you're going to see! (unless perhaps you saw the cover of the JAV beforehand)

What's even better about game show JAVs is that there is technically no end to the ideas you could come up with. Have a pissing competition to see how far a girl can piss, or a lewd game of Twister where the men can start thrusting into the women when they can reach, or have women try to toss rings around a man's erect penis - the more absurd the better!

Sex is repetitive by nature as well, and though it is merely thrusting/stroking that happens again and again, most humans will find watching it stimulating because of the knowledge they have of what sex is (and their natural instincts). While sex will always be alluring, it can lead more traditional JAV to be predictable and repetitive. Game show JAVs help take away some of that predictable nature and throws the watcher a curve ball, so there's always something interesting. The weirdness and uniqueness of game show JAV also helps to make the work more memorable, because it's not just "there was an adult video and a girl got penetrated", it would be described more like "this girl hung from a crane and tried to pop balloons with her butt, but she failed and got fucked".

The genre has a lot of untapped potential, and yet it seems like game show type films almost never release - personally this upsets me. The sexy nonsense you could come up and then gamify is endless, and it would fit right in with the JAV industry's reputation of being strange/producing strange adult movies.

A lot of these game shows naturally become quite the ridiculous spectacle to the viewer, making them inherently comical. Usually there's some oddness to the "challenge" or "game" for the participants, and this comedy helps give game show JAVs an added layer of depth. Not only will watchers be stimulated, but they'll find joy in watching a lewd game of Twister turn into a giant orgy.

In addition to this, sometimes the players take the game quite seriously, and don't even really acknowledge the absurdity of it all. The point of a game might be to see how fast a person can eat out a girl and make her squirt, and then the contestants go at a rapid pace you'd see in an actual non-sex game show - almost as if it's not a strange premise to eat out a woman as part of a game. This only makes a game show JAV that much funnier. Such small details really do help things go a long way.

Much like I've mentioned before on numerous occasion, sex in itself is already weird, so I think it's only natural that sex and JAV pair well with comedy because of this. With game show JAV, this merely takes things to a new level by adding in strange concepts and gamifying the sex to have the "participants" do weird activities.

Due to these adult movies being for mature audiences, really almost anything goes, so why not take that and use it to the movie's advantage? Why not try experimenting with really weird ideas just because you can? Game show adult movies help contribute to this idea, and such experimentation could lead to even greater ideas in the future!

Another great benefit to game show JAVs, of course, is the fact that a lot of them are surprisingly really erotic, despite the weird situations the participants find themselves in. One might ask themselves how it can be erotic to see a girl's genitals protruding through a cardboard cutout, as I believe some people would probably find it more funny than sexy. That being said, I imagine many watchers find themselves quite surprised when they actually watch a game show type movie, because they'll find it more erotic than they initially believed they would.

Game show JAVs often involve multiple participants or teams, so what happens is you have a couple having sex in front of what is essentially a crowd, and that crowd is cheering the players on. Perhaps this is just my own personal fetishes talking, but that's a situation that provides a lot of stimulation. Such movies often involve orgies as well, so that's another aspect that tends to make game show films surprisingly intense.

The aforementioned weird/creative ideas can also help watchers discover new things about themselves, as well as fetishes they never knew they had. This is naturally a great bonus and will inspire watchers to either go out and watch more JAV, or seek out more game show type JAV.

Since I've discussed at length various positive aspects to game show JAV, I thought I might as well as talk about the more negative parts about them. With such focus on their creative game show elements, it is possible that the movie forgets that it's an adult video with the purpose of stimulating the watcher. It can be interesting to watch a nude game of Twister for example, but if there's no penetration or anything particularly lewd going on (besides nudity), a watcher could very easily grow bored.

Another negative aspect is the fact that most game show JAV really only focus on one singular idea, meaning, if you don't particularly like the fetish/concept on display, then the rest of the JAV will probably fail to stimulate you as well. One particular example I can think of is the lotion-wrestling game show JAVs where a bunch of people essentially have sex in a giant pit of lotion. Personally I find it kind of gross and unhygienic, and essentially the whole movie is just the lotion-wrestling, so there's really not much for me to appreciate with such a movie.

As I mentioned before, game show type movies are great for discovering new fetishes, but the problem is that the fetish is likely highly specific, such as "tossing rings around a man's penis", or something. This means it'll be almost impossible to find another adult film doing exactly that, or even something similar. This could be quite disastrous for those who enjoy obsessing over new things they like.

Game shows by nature are competitive, thrilling, and rewarding (what with their cash prizes). Converting this idea into a pornographic parody, in my opinion, is brilliant, because it takes an important aspect of human life, sex, and makes it even greater by making it competitive and "rewarding", which in turn also makes it more stimulating. Considering sex is already a pleasurable act, the concept only enhances things further.

I absolutely love how the genre comes up with nutty ideas that center around sex, stimulation, or just plain absurdity, and it is the purest example of Japan's "weirdness" not only being entertaining, but something that others could become inspired by. The only thing I find disappointing is that there just doesn't seem to be a lot of these types of JAV! If JAV creators were willing to make use of the game show fetish more often, I feel like they would get a lot more praise and sales! After all, what's more hilarious and simultaneously erotic than "guessing that pussy", right?
