ZENRA Exclusive Interview: Tsubasa Hachino

Although she doesn't consider herself a veteran, Tsubasa Hachino has gotten to play a myriad of different roles with great skill and perspective. From shooting with more senior actresses to her personal preferences when it comes to porn, the JAV actress spoke about her experience in the industry to ZENRA in this exclusive interview. [ZENRA]  How did you get involved in the industry?  Did you advance through ‘water trade’ jobs?
[Tsubasa Hachino]  I was actually scouted and before that I had no experience at all in the industry.
 

[Z]  Out of all the movies you’ve done, which was the most enjoyable? Why?
[T]  I most enjoy doing movies that give me free rein to do whatever I want. I guess having it my way is part of my nature.

[Z]  How has the environment on set changed since COVID-19 began?
[T]  Much less shooting!

[Z]  Would you ever want to appear alongside a foreign actor?
[T]  Honestly I haven’t given it much thought, but I’d be open to it if the opportunity arose.

[Z]  Do you think the industry has changed at all since you debuted, not factoring in COVID-19?
[T]  Not really, no.  Work then was fun.  Work now fortunately still is fun!

[Z]  Do you watch JAV for enjoyment?  What about western porn?  If yes for either, what do you watch?
[T]  I actually watch my own movies in private!

[Z]  Are you able to separate the sex and pleasure you may feel on set with the same sensations you feel in private?
[T]  I view my performance on set as work so I really only feel true pleasure when doing it at home.

[Z]  Do you have a boyfriend or have had one during your career?  How does he feel about what you do?
[T]  I’m single at the moment.

[Z]  Over your career you have had the chance to work with several more senior actresses who also work for your agency, such as Aki Sasaki (AVOP-433) and Kurea Hasumi (MIRD-202). How has working with them been? Do you look to them for guidance and do they serve as mentors to you?
[T]  I’m so happy when I have chances to appear in movies alongside fellow actresses in the same agency.  We really get to go wild when that happens.

[Z]  You have done several VR now, including with other actresses. How does VR with other actresses compare to a solo VR? How does VR with multiple actresses compare to a traditional video with multiple actresses?
[T]  It’s a bit different because I’m usually the only one with lines.  The actor can’t move and must remain in a fixed position.  The biggest difference compared to 2D shooting is there are way fewer times you can cut shooting.  It’s almost a nonstop one-person show from start to finish and can be really exhausting to do.
 

[Z]  The work you've done over your career has been extremely varied, from the hot housewife to a plain college girl.  How do you think you are able to perform such a wide range of characters? Do you have a favorite?
[T]  My favorites would have to be drama and lewd woman roles.  At first, I really didn’t think I could act as a lewd woman, but it was something I grew into and now love getting offers for that type of role.

[Z]  You've starred in a few series that are really well known, including Wanz Factory's Raw Creampie Sex - If You Can Handle It! (WANZ-825). Do you feel any extra pressure when performing series with many great contemporaries also having done them?
[T]  I always wonder how I stand, but either way I always give it my all.  This is my mindset not just when doing series like this, but with pretty much all gigs.

[Z]  You star in videos with varying numbers of actresses. Sometimes you're solo, sometimes it's two in a lesbian, or sometimes it's five ladies at once. Do you have a preference for the number of actresses you work with? Is it more fun to work with several actresses?
[T]  Solo is admittedly easiest for me, but you can’t deny doing something with many actresses can be really fun.

[Z]  You have been around for three years now and are somewhat of a veteran actress. Do you try to help out the more junior actresses at your agency such as 2019 debuts Sachiko or Ruka Inaba?
[T]  Well, I’m not sure how helpful I can be to them as even I don’t yet consider myself a veteran.

[Z]  Have you ever been spotted by fans? If so, any unique stories?
[T]  I’ve actually never been spotted when out and about.

[T]  Recently a lot of Super Junior!

[Z]  If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you want to go, who would you want to go with, and what would you do?
[T]  I’d love to see the aurora borealis!

[Z]  If you did not decide on doing JAV, what would you be doing now?
[T]  Probably just doing random part-time jobs and loafing around.
