JAV Sales Report - May 2024 ft Haruka Riri, Mitsuri Nagahama, Yu Tano, and more

Welcome to the May Sales Report. Let's go see what did well in May, shall we?

Noa Haruna has had the most up and down debut I've seen in quite some time. Sometimes studios seem to enjoy her and let her cook, other times they seem to treat her like she's trash. Every time we get to preview day I joke around with Panking that they do her dirty because they honestly do. So many of her videos feature masks in some way from veils to medical masks to one that can only be described as Bain's mask. Some of the low-mid tier studios like Be Free and Lunatics seem to enjoy her and let her cook. We shall see if this level of content from Be Free is something that can be sustained from her.

Reika Takeda is someone I have such a love hate relationship with. I had pretty positive first opinions because busty milf is my thing. However Reika just isn't nice enough to shore up her weaknesses. When I look at other busty milfs that shine, like Shiori Tsukada, Mako Oda, Nozomi Mikimoto, etc. they tend to be quite a lot nicer physically than Reika in literally every way. So it begs the question, how is Reika doing this well? Turns out that it's because she's just filming a ton with a lot of studios. Lower tier stuff for sure, all of these are low tier studio releases from May, but the volume offsets it. I think for myself I'm past giving her chances and she's not worth watching, and I'll be curious to see if this success can be sustained or if people will reach the same conclusion as me.

What is this, another hidden S1 debut? Nanaka Kosaka debuted back in February and her standout feature was her 170cm height. I'm just going to go and say it, how is that enough? Last year we got Haru Minato who is not only taller at 175cm but has more in one of her boobs than both of Nanaka's. I guess there's a reason I haven't really been seeing Nanaka on the sales reports. We've seen the other busty debuts, we see the most recent in Yu Tano all the way up in third, so this all kind of makes sense to me. My guess is she's doing well this month just because of her VR release and I'll guess next month seems more of what I expect: not the cream of the crop.

Himari Kinoshita often does quite well, jumping from just barely missing the top 25 last month. Such is the life of a freelancer, the quality is all over the place and your results vary a lot from month to month. One of the more interesting developments was her starring alongside Rika Tsubaki in a half lesbian film only for her to then go star with her immediately after in a full lesbian release. Who knows what order they really were filmed in but it's interesting to see even freelancers find themselves working together in rapid succession like this. They tend to say that you don't get to pick who you work with but something tells me this is proving them wrong.

Akari has quickly become a favourite of mine because she does content like this. Riasu, a friend of the blog, isn't really my speed, but I'll be damned if this didn't get close to getting a watch from me. I mean come on, Akari squirting in her mouth? Slapping her face? Fucking her with a strap from behind while pulling on a collar? If Riasu had been someone I've seen before I would have 1000% watched this no doubt about it. There's a good reason Akari is high up on the list and an actress frequently in my posts and this is the epitome of why.

So the actress actually featured in our sales report isn't the one front and center on the cover. It's Kanon Kanade in 25th place, off to the side. I don't exactly blame you for not noticing when Yuria and her juicy melons are center stage. I think it does highlight how awkward hentai adaptations are in JAV because you really do need someone at Yuria's level to do it and there are very few at her level. Maybe I'm just incredibly biased for big tits (well duh) because we already talked about two who do have hentai proportions in Reika Takeda and Noa Haruna, and even maybe a couple more if I count the offhand mentions of Haru Minato and Yu Tano. That being said I suppose that's why I enjoy hentai as much as I do, because so much of it is filled with huge boobs. I feel like at this point Yuria Yoshine is the adaptation queen since she's doing them all the time, and actresses like Kanon just get to be along for the ride. The weird part is I know there's plenty of hentai with less busty actresses so where are all those adaptations? If I go think about some recent ones, Konan Koyoi's comes to mind, so does the one Yuri Honma did that was featured in my last watchlist, Reika Takeda had one in my watchlist a couple months back, and Kana Kusakabe has one a little further down the list. It's just interesting to see the industry do the thing I would do if I was running the show, maybe I'm on to something? I feel like they should just let someone like Kanon cook a little more and star in something as a lead. At any rate, maybe these are the kind of videos to help introduce people like myself to Kanon (not that I don't already know her but generally speaking).

I spy with my little eye, someone who has returned! That's right, Ruka Inaba is back in business baby! While she goes by Haruka Riri instead now, it's still the same old Ruka Inaba we know and love. I've said it before, Ruka not only has great tits but one of the best asses out there, so I'm really glad she's back. She's with E-Body as an exclusive actress which I think won't ultimately last long. That's where she debuted back in 2019 but she didn't last long there before going freelance. That's a very common trend at E-Body, if you're good then you'll leave them soon after. I feel like Ruka has plenty of choices of where to go, she has a fantastic body and still has enough of a youthful appearance to fit on most rosters. I'm just excited to see her back and maybe by Christmas we'll have some content worth watching.

As many of you know, Mitsuri Nagahama is someone I've been tracking since January. She seems incredible, from how beautiful she is to her great boobs to a surprising ability to squirt. She continues to do well and I think this is the one that will really make her shine. I think her charm comes from this perception I have of her being sweet and kind and this more passionate narrative suits that perception. Even her debut is still doing well as evidenced right below but maybe that's also a factor of people being so excited for this film that they went back and looked at her debut. Either way it's clear she's doing well and as I've been pointing out in my debut previews, clear she's someone I'll be watching this year.

More and more I keep thinking to myself about how few actresses actually have hentai bodies; as the saying goes, hentai IRL. Nene Tanaka, featured above, is one of the few that does. She has that plump figure but also has some big boobs to match. While I tend to prefer actresses even bustier than Nene in my hentai, there's a certain charm that Nene's varied hair colours provide. Even the source material on the cover shows someone with blue hair which is a level of commitment that is absolutely wild. Maybe these studios talk to Nene and try to coordinate but regardless, that depth is fantastic and I'm sure Pan is loving it all.

I'll probably keep talking about Yu Tano for a while because L cup boobs is my thing. We were pretty lucky last year with all the giant tits at S1 and they're somehow still at it getting even better. At this point it's only a matter of time until someone Hitomi's calibre ends up there, which is not something I thought I would say. And yet, of those still standing, we got Miyu at H cup in June, Ren at J cup in October, Momoka at K cup in November, and now Yu Tano at L cup in June. I guess by summer 2025 we'll be looking at a Hitomi competitor at this rate. All jokes aside Yu looks to be more of a competitor to Momoka with not only just how busty she is but her areola shape so we shall see how things shape up in the coming months.

Last month when we took a look Mei Itsukaichi (五日市芽依) was 2nd on DMM physical but only 16th at Bookmate. Now up to second it's honestly not hard to see why. I mean just look at these releases, maid, teacher, gym, and my all-time favourite series? What an incredible selection of works that just make me stop and say damn. I'll be posting some thoughts on Mei in the not too distant future as part of me reviewing a few actresses from 2023 I missed, so stay tuned for that. Or, you know, don't wait for me, because this stuff looks incredible.

In 8th place we have Rei Nikaido (二階堂麗) who honestly looks quite nice. Maybe I wasn't so big on her initially but this photo alone is making me have second thoughts. I always take very early impressions of debuts with a grain of salt because of how the industry reacts to debuts in general. I'll wait at least a couple more months and see what happens with her but she certainly looks promising thus far. Pretty with a hint of maturity, big boobs, slim figure, and it seems she can squirt. Again, I'll take my time in judging her but right now things look promising.

Ibuki Aoi (葵いぶき) has always just sort of been there for me. Maybe I'm just not the target audience for someone a bit younger with a bit more fit of a body. I mean sure, I can appreciate it, but I think because I'm willing to appreciate lesser bodies too I don't obsess on Ibuki like some others I know. Maybe many people are like me because this release looks absolutely incredible. Maybe some are still coming off of the high of the Bako Bako Bus Tour video but either way, people are watching her, myself included. I'll be a bit curious to see if she's just peaking or can maintain this, and I have a feeling that once people do watch her they may get hooked.

Now that the dust has mostly settled on the busty debuts at S1, which team are you on? I was on team Haru Minato but she's disappeared and I'm left with Momoka Kagura (神楽ももか) (left) and Ren Gojo (五条恋) (right). We've got Momoka at 36th and Ren at 40th so it looks like fans are pretty split on them. Or you know what, maybe the overlap is near 100%. I could see it, I mean I'm a fan of both and there have to be others like me, right? Looking at both pairs as they hang low they do look quite nice, and both of them do have larger areola. I feel like some may lean into one or the other depending on their preferences, I think Momoka's ass is nicer but Ren's face is nicer. Either way you can't do wrong with either of them and it seems like everyone's all about the S1 tits train.

I'm just going to come out and say it: I don't know what people see in Sayuri Hayama (葉山さゆり). I've reviewed a number of her videos now and she's pretty unremarkable. I mean sure she's got decent sized boobs, a decent enough figure, and a decent enough face. She is also a terrible performer. What strikes me most is just about how willing I am to look past performing skills. I certainly can, people know me for liking quite a few duds, but then I find their physical qualities are way, way better than this. Like if I look at Rara Anzai or Mako Oda, they're so much nicer than Sayuri in every way. I'm sure part of her rise this month is from her VR release but I'm honestly expecting people to come to the realization I have soon enough and for her to either learn how to act or get the boot.

I don't know how I missed this before but Kana Kusakabe (日下部加奈) randomly became a Madonna exclusive again. You can see it where the covers say 専属 in gold. At any rate I think Madonna made the right choice even if I think Kana made the wrong one. Her career was booming when she left and it sounds like Madonna immediately regretted it. Kana's career is quite interesting if you look at it more in depth.

This is honestly a pretty atypical career path if I do say so. A lot of those SOD actresses go freelance instead of an exclusive studio upgrade, it's hard to get out of Attackers jail, and honestly I can't remember any other times someone was a Madonna exclusive, got dropped, and then came back. Who knew Madonna could be wrong. Kana only made it to five videos her first time at Madonna so soon we'll see whether they'll just drop her again or not.

I'm still pretty frustrated that Himeka Iori (庵ひめか) left IP to go to Madonna. I don't know about you but this 22 year old doesn't scream milf to me. At this point Madonna is just snatching up anyone they can and I'd rather see studios go back to what makes them unique. At any rate I think people still enjoy Himeka with her still gracing our list and hopefully she can star in a couple of key series that I quite enjoy.

Up next in 96th place on Bookmate is Kiho Kanematsu (金松季歩). Keen observers might see that her image on the infographic is from a different studio. Or some might be starting to recognize some Japanese, particularly the 専属 text right up front on the right. We only get that kind of text when we get something like 電撃 (meaning suddenly) or in this case 決定 (meaning decision). That would translate altogether as decision to become an S1 exclusive. Kiho Kanematsu is the latest of debuts from Muteki who basically only specialize in high quality debuts. Let me give you a quick refresher on some of their major debuts because you might not honestly remember at this point: Yua Mikami. *mic drop*. Okay but really there are others like Hana Haruna, Yuri Oshikawa, Meguri, and more. They've not really been doing much lately but when they do show up people go wild thinking it's the next Yua. I'm just going to say that Kaoru Yasui soured me to the point that I won't give them any deference, so we'll just have to see if Kiho can hold her own. Considering how high Kaoru was when she debuted people are thinking the same way I am, or so it seems.
