Hello everyone, this is vienna, back with the first part of the “Why Do You Enjoy JAVs?” three-part series! This time, we'll take a look at the very first layer between the viewer and the final product - the production layer. I've been thinking a lot about how to write this article, and especially which production studios to point to as "examples to follow" in the market. Probably the choices and things I'll do won't be able to please everyone, but let's try to delineate in an objective (though not exactly technical) fashion what qualifies or de-qualifies the production of a JAV. We are talking about everything that is not directly related to the content of a JAV, better described in the sex layer and in the presentation layer, but that - instead - allows us to enjoy in the best possible way that same content. As we have already observed several times, what we see in a JAV and the way this content is presented to us have a sometimes unstable and swinging relationship: not always quality of production and quality of content go hand in hand, in fact. I've watched many JAVs where, despite phenomenal casts and actresses whose performances could rival the most popular girls in the industry, the poor audiovisual quality and questionable technical-creative choices led me - and this is a completely personal opinion - to dislike the film and the product itself, despite its high potential. See where I'm going with this? It does me no good to have exceptional actresses and dizzying sex scenes if the audio is bad, the director chooses seriously debatable shoots or the video is not, quite simply, qualitatively adequate. In any case, it must also be said that most of the films that the average Western viewer comes into contact with are of good quality, or at least of a more than adequate technical quality -- in any case, the average viewer, whether a JAV fan or not, will surely have noticed the exaggerated overabundance (which, in itself, is not really a bad thing!) of JAV. Dozens, if not more, come out every day. It's a numbers game, and indeed a big numbers game.

With Great JAVs Comes Great Responsibility

Maybe it's not necessarily the case that generic John Doe runs into movies that are bad from an artistic or, as we're dealing with here, technical standpoint -- but trust me: there are some. I don't mean to give examples of products that don't work: on the contrary, I want to reinforce the idea that quality wins out over quantity, always and in any case. In a market where the law is that "the more the better", to find "authoritative" JAVs you need to understand the industry or rely on a large portal (like ours) to filter out all the unwatchable junk. What is offered to viewers through these portals are virtuous JAVs that meet very high standards in terms of production quality. However, a slightly more demanding aficionado or one with special requests might simply rely on the big network and then, at the end of the day, be disappointed. Clearly, an amateur porn will never have the technical quality of a big production, but there we are talking about radically different products. Personally, "JAV" immediately brings to mind the words "quality, professionalism, content" -- and while most studios forage my love of high-level porn, both creatively and technically, not all of them are saved. However, I've put together a list of three studios that, in my personal opinion, have never disappointed, at least from what's in my experience. These studios are Studio MOODYZ, Studio S1 NO.1 STYLE and Studio Hunters: let's take a look at one of their best titles and see why they have been, from a genuinely technical standpoint, successes.

MOODYZ is a certainty when it comes to directing and creativity. Curious plots and well-placed casts, along with respectable production quality pretty much all the time, makes this studio one of my absolute favorites, and in fact I've put them at the top of this list, without taking anything away from the others. I have decided to take this film as an example of the creative-technical excellence of the MOODYZ studio for a very specific reason: their ability to succeed, through imaginative and never trivial shots, in capturing the sexual intercourse in its utter beauty. Every movement, every orgasm, every flap of skin is shown to the viewer with audacity or shyness, depending on the case; the result is a lively film, which manages to keep the viewer glued from the beginning until the end. MOODYZ's films are gems in terms of direction. I always appreciate the care they take in their products every time. In particular, this film is about a 19-year-old NEET who is seduced and escorted towards her first sexual experiences by grown men who are hungry for her round, juicy pussy. Momoko Koharu isn't a name I'm overly familiar with, but thanks to this film I've come to appreciate her performances more -- a truly energetic actress I'd love to see more of. With her, the sex was a constant crescendo, thanks in part to her abundant form that allows for dynamic interaction with her environment and external toys (check out the trailer to find out what I'm talking about). In any case, MOODYZ is definitely the perfect example when it comes to technical quality; a studio that has never contradicted itself and that, on the contrary, has continuously innovated and given of its best with each film, this one included, and for which it deserves a definite flak from the fans.

S1 NO.1 STYLE is a name that needs no presentations whatsoever. To be fair, my very first JAVs were produced by this very studio, which is why I have a strong nostalgic bond with them. This studio manages to stand out, at least on a technical level, in every way. S1 NO.1 STYLE is a studio that has studied and done its homework: technical imperfections or unclear or misunderstood camera captures are very rare; light is used intelligently and cleverly along with the environment, which is selected and composed with precision by the staff. The casts they choose are, then, among my favorites in general. This film is, in my opinion, a very good product from the studio, released just over a year ago. Riko Shiraha is a maid who has taken up residence in the home of her master, a wealthy elderly man who, unfortunately for the sweet girl, wants more than just her "cleaning", even making her to dress up and have sex with more of the said master's colleagues. This film represents, in my opinion, an ideal example of mixing multiple ideas and fetish. There is a little bit of everything for everyone. We're talking about an overall quality product, exactly what the industry should perpetually strive for, and not just on the technical side. Riko Shiraha, then, is adorable from start to finish, and every time I return to this movie I get excited at her fiery performance. Her giving herself over to her well-heeled master is so sincere and interpretive, as well as so heretical, that I empathize every time. Her active and spirited participation in the sex scenes is truly a fantastic sight. Check out this film and the rest of the studio's catalog - you won't be disappointed.

Some of the very first films I talked about and reviewed on this blog were actually produced by studio Hunter, an ambitious and talented organization that produces evergreen films that I watch with pleasure and delight. From a purely technical standpoint, I have to admit that Hunter manages to shine best in crowded films characterized by large and varied casts, and therefore particular plots that require, rightly, a great narrative ability but above all a technical supremacy on what concerns, in particular, direction, lighting and pacing. The film I have chosen among Hunter's many exceptionally well-made works is a great classic: a harem of cute girls ready to suck your cock on command. The setting is homey and involves intense and never mundane use of the sheer amount of women in the room: overwhelming the user and viewer with four pairs of phenomenal tits is certainly one way to enjoy the fantastic world of JAV, but it's not just about that -- what I want to emphasize is Hunter's studio ability to highlight the skills and peculiarities of each of the girls present, to make them stand out in the best possible way and, finally, grant them a spotlight worthy of an A-list actress, with a technically excellent use of the tools at the director's disposal. A worthwhile film that certainly showcases some of the best qualities of the Hunter studio. Give it a look.
