Rubi Aiba - Raise the Fornication Flag

When a movie simply isn't that great (but has some redeeming qualities I'll address shortly), it's hard to heap any type of praise on it.  Within seconds of RAISE THE FORNICATION FLAG, I knew this was going to be one of 'those' movies.  Low budget in many ways, but not a total miss else we wouldn't even be showing it.

To get things started, the first scene is one of those student-teacher confessional encounters with the former admitting her feelings to the latter.  That on paper is a solid JAV trope, but this one starts with the teacher wearing junky street clothes while literally sitting with legs spread on a desk facing his pupil.  I mean come on!  Haven't they heard of a buildup?  What's more, one minute into RAISE THE FORNICATION FLAG we get a blooper with the director giving off-camera instructions.  Any editor worth even minimum wage should have caught that not to mention the several other times it happens in this 90 minute release.

I'm not really fond of the actor.  His stage name eludes me though I've taken to calling him "Budget Steve".  Still active today, he's been (in my mind at least) the generic rather tough on the eyes guy you'll often see in low budget, but not super amateur uncensored JAV.  I mean in real life he's probably an alright guy, but there is a certain stereotype that some still believe about Asian men and thanks to zero pixels, what he brings to the table certainly isn't helping things.

Laying on the hate can only go so far, but there's one more thing I'd like to bring up:  on one hand I commend VIRTUAL WAVE for mimicking Toru Muranashi by emulating his "blow the whistle when you orgasm" by instructing RUBI AIBA to raise flags, but this barely happened in the movie.  I think she was just too embarrassed, to be honest.  What we get is sex with some flags thrown next to the bed.  Incredible.

The praise:  RUBI is cute, has a very nice body, and the sex at least in the second scene is totally authentic.  The play surrounding it and the book-end counters also is quite solid.  Though yes, thanks to this being a mosaic-lifted movie, we can CLEARLY see that the third scene's coitus is as staged as it gets with the actor's dick simply rubbing up against her.  Perhaps there can be some pleasure found in that, but since the actress obviously was down for having sex, I can't imagine it would have cost that much more to pay her for an additional bout.  Remember, when you stage the act, you also are limiting yourself in believable angles.  Even thin mosaic would have hid what you all have access to today.
