JAV Sales Report - July 2024

Welcome to the July sales report. I've got an interesting new addition if you scroll to the bottom that I hope you'll enjoy.

Azu has been showing up literally everywhere since she decided to become a freelancer. I mean seriously, regular videos, lesbian, schoolgirl in a spicy outfit, they really don't care. It's always nice to see an exclusive take the plunge and find out the industry absolutely adores them, especially in Azu's case with a year and a half hiatus. Nako Hoshi I couldn't care less about but as Azu it's impossible to ignore her. Azu makes me wonder how long she can keep it up given she gave it up once before and how long the industry will be this kind to her, but I'm glad she's milking it for all it's worth right now.

Neet has been all the rage lately but what about hikikomori? I'm not so sure how closely this resembles real life situations but I think many people can relate on some level. The real world is dark and scary and the idea of just leaving it all behind for the comfort of your home is so tempting sometimes. And, well, if you have a cute girl to do more than cook and clean for you it's just that much easier. It's certainly not the only time SOD has done this but I find it does compliment the neet genre well, even if I don't think either of them are particularly great.

Has anyone else noticed Nao Jinguji slipping through the cracks a little? She barely made the cut this month but she's up from completely off the charts. Turns out Nao's only been producing one video a month, alternating between Madonna and Moodyz. She's effectively cut her output in half. One would hope she still wants to keep at it because of how wonderful she is but considering both Madonna and Moodyz have had mega films in the past year and she's been in neither you really have to wonder. Personally I've always found her doing two a month to be quite important for her because there otherwise wasn't enough interesting content coming out. I don't know about you guys but I just haven't really cared that much to watch her in recent months and it's a damn shame. Maybe this is a temporary thing, maybe it's the new norm, all I know is I hope we get some good Nao videos soon.

I'm really glad to see Ayaka Tomoda settling back into the freelancer life. That's where she made her name during the prime days of JAV and it's great seeing her alongside her old pals like Yui and Hibiki. Sure, Yui and Hibiki are the ones topping the charts not Ayaka, but it's difficult to compete with two actresses who would be an auto lock for any sort of JAV hall of fame. Ayaka is still just as nice as either of them and I won't be surprised when she starts topping the charts herself.

By now I'm sure you've heard the news that Mao Hamasaki is throwing in the towel. She had an impeccable run and, like Hibihata above, would be a lock for the JAV hall of fame. Let's face it, she was among the most prolific actresses in town. She could hang with both the best squirters and deepthroaters while having a mean streak that was legendary. This video sums up where I've personally been with Mao in recent times as I've kind of grown out of her a bit. She can still hang with them and was in a number of good videos recently but I guess I just liked the younger, spunkier Mao a little more. That all being said, she'll probably always make a top 100 actresses list of mine and for good reason. She's been great for this past decade and the only thing to say is thank you for your service Mao, we'll miss you!

It's been a while since Madonna started putting out this stripper series and Non Ohana finally has her time in the spotlight with it. I feel like they peaked earlier with Kanna Fuji, nobody is going to top Kanna's flexibility in this series. It's the kind of series I feel like I should like because let's face it, there's lots of room for flexibility. You can see the slightest hint of bondage play on the back cover but that doesn't feel like they went all out on it like they ought to have. I just want these videos to start showing some life of their own that this video doesn't seem to, and quite frankly this series hasn't shown. That being said, it's good to see Non continuing to do well after joining Madonna as I expected less out of her there. If I'm being truthful, I kind of hope she starts to flounder a bit so Madonna will stop snatching up the non-milfs, leave some of them for the other studios!

Mitsuri Nagahama continues to do well and is in 8th place this month. Sometimes I keep wondering if she'll drop off, especially when she gets these generic hotel videos, then they go ahead and drop this preview image and I remember why people watch this stuff. There's just no arguing with someone that attractive with her big tits pressed against the class like that. I expect good things for a long time with Nitsuri.

Nanami Matsumoto kind of fell off the map for a bit, and while I don't think Materiall is the best home I'm just glad to see her back in action. She's busty, she's juicy, and she's unsurprisingly one of my all-time favourite actresses. I'm evidently not alone considering a generic POV video is in a top spot and hopefully we can get some even better videos in the not so distant future.

Yu Tano has been cooking up a storm and seeing her at TRE has been all the proof we've needed to see she has star power. It seems very natural to compare her to some of the recent S1 debuts, especially Momoka Kagura. I've been slowing down a bit on Momoka since she's turned out to be a terrible performer and the life I've seen from Yu at TRE has made me hopeful. You'll certainly be seeing a review of her come this winter and we'll dive deeper into what she's made of them.

I won't lie any say I'm excited for this video because let's face it, a lot of these actresses aren't for me. Does one really think Sumire or Ichika are Oppaira level actresses? That being said, looking at it more objectively I can't deny the cast it has. It's a pretty stacked cast (okay poor choice of words) and I'm sure VR fans will be going nuts for this. If there's one thing I will say it's that these mega cast VRs are so rare these days. Early on it was all the rage but now this is pretty rare, just a handful of times a year, and rarely with a cast quite this nice. Someone please watch it and tell me if it's worth it or if VR suffers from the same multi actress problems.

Kiho Kanematsu (金松季歩) is from everyone's favourite studio Muteki. I wouldn't blame you if you've forgotten them since they rarely do anything other than pop out a random debut every now and then, which is like once every three years if we're lucky these days. Kiho probably has a gravure buff helping her out right now and I'll be very curious to see if she turns out to be decent. Kaoru was a bust and fell off fast but Kiho is still doing well both in and out of DMM and I really look forward to being proven wrong.

Mai Tsubasa (つばさ舞) always kind of impresses me because it feels like she's missing a little something. Don't get me wrong, she's a decent enough woman and all, but the bar is set really high at S1. You've got to stand out whether your tits are bigger than your head or you're a 10 year veteran or you're just simply the new face. Mai is none of those and to see her beating out some heavy hitters (pun intended) is always a little surprising. Maybe it's a simple case of women looking good in athletic wear, especially the kind that is as revealing and spicy as the one she has there, but I feel like I'm grasping for straws. Maybe most people just appreciate a nice body like she has, because I'll be real with you, even if she doesn't have bazookas for boobs she does have an all around pleasing figure. Maybe let's just chalk it up to most people being more sensible than me.

Am I the only one that thinks this AI porn is a bit weird? I mean sure, they have to give her a name, Raira Kano (叶ライラ) is hers, but being an exclusive actress making a debut and touting her as a gravure idol, that's just a lot. One of these days I probably will go see what's up with AI just to see if there's any substance, but it's just a tad bit creepy for the moment and I'll stick with the real porn for now.

Ren Gojo (五条恋) and Sayaka Nito (仁藤さや香) are two of S1's latest busty members and I must say that it feels like we haven't quite figured out where everyone is going to settle. S1 is just a different breed of studio on the rankings where anything can happen any month. You've got Mei Washio (鷲尾めい) a little higher than them and Yu Tano (田野憂) way higher up, you've got Rea Maruishi (丸石レア) a little lower than them and Momoka Kagura (神楽ももか) way lower than them, and there's just so many other actresses from S1 interspersed in the rankings. I'm really hoping Ren will get something interesting soon because I'm starting to lose patience on her. The fact she had this brief hiatus after her debut isn't helping because normally we would be on plot based videos by now. You can see that with Sayaka where she is getting them and I'm actually watching her more. It's honestly the one criticism I have of S1, that they delay actresses doing plot videos for so long. Don't assume they cannot act, give them a chance and see what they're made of. I've seen quite a few debuts, even from this year, that have done well at acting early on, so just let them try and stop rehashing the same video 10 times!

Hana Kurosaki (黒咲華) is a brand new debut clearly making waves. I don't know if it's their love for gals or just a love for debuts but people are clearly liking her with this 72nd place ranking. Maybe it's the fact she's a former nurse? Probably more of a chance it's her 91G cup boobs, at least that's what the boob lover in me says. I personally tend not to be a fan of gals like this but she does give off Kaho Imai vibes, especially in her profile picture in the rankings infographic, and she does have more or less the same sized boobs, so maybe we should be keeping an eye on her. It's just her debut video but we'll have to remember to see if she's still doing well three or four videos in.

Ah yes, Ai Sayama (佐山愛) in VR. Who doesn't love a big titty milf in VR? It's been three years since we've seen her in VR and I can see why she's placing well. Whether you prefer her tits hanging down in that open yukata or under wraps in that virgin killer sweater, it's hard to ignore how great they look. It's also very impressive to see Ai doing well all these years later, it's been 17 years since she debuted and she's still as great as ever.

Mirei Uno (宇野みれい) and Yuri Adachi (安達夕莉) teamed up in July in what honestly looked like an incredible video. S1 doesn't do enough collaborations and this pair actually looks quite nice. The two of them look close in age and I think fit the narrative well. Let's be real, it's also just a great narrative. It's bittersweet though because as nice as it looks it's also Yuri's last release. Not everyone can excel in this industry and while I don't for a second think she had a bad time being an exclusive at S1 it takes a toll on you. We've seen other actresses say it was tough and I'm sure it's even worse with how crowded they've become lately. At any rate this is a great video to go out with and I hope the best for her.

Umi Yatsugake (八掛うみ) has kind of been an enigma on the Bookmate rankings. One month she's up at the top the next month she's way down in the dumps like this. For an actress who is arguably competing for the top spot at a major studio you'd expect a little more stability. You can really see when S1 has all three of the top spots this month or when other studio aces like Mio Ishikawa (石川美桜) from IP is in 11th or Mayuki Ito (伊藤舞雪) from Kawaii is in 13th. The video does look a little on the bland side but it also has schoolgirl and bunny suit, two fan favourites. I think everyone knows my personal preference on Umi but it's s till interesting nonetheless to see how she fares here.
