Late in 2019 newcomer starlet Melody Marks went to Japan to star in a number to JAV titles. The blonde bombshell proved to be very popular in the short amount of time she was active. Going to Japan

Melody was only in the porn business for about a year when she went to Japan to work. She’s traveled down there twice to shoot. She only made the trip because fellow pornstars Steve Holmes was suggested that she do it though a friend slash producer. She was very nervous about travelling so far from home and shooting abroad. She got very sick for the first three days from jetlag and weed withdrawal. Her agent at the time was very against it, thought they were not a legit company. So she planned the trip with them. They were legit and treated her very nicely. Her agent even asked for their 15% at the end of the trip even though her contract with them was not renewed. She now represents herself and books her own stuff.

They slightly changed her name to Melody Hina Marks for JAV. Which means light or sun, possibly in reference to her pale skin. She had a translator slash caretaker with her when working. She was surprised with how professional and involved the production was. Scripts, outfits, lots of props, new hair and makeup for each scene. They provided her with all the clothing, she did not use a single piece of her own clothes. A drastic difference from western porn. They also advertised her as Scandinavian of which she is not.

Her biggest takeaway from working in JAV was how grueling the hours and work schedule was. Shooting 3-4 scenes per day. Waking up at 5 am to get ready and shooting all day and night, finally getting home at 11 pm. With a work schedule of 3 days on then 3 days off. A very difficult work pace and the hardest part of her time working there. As difficult as it was she was very grateful of her time there. She saw a big bump in popularity from her JAV titles. Fans from all over Asia not just Japan; Thailand, Taiwan, and South Korea. Her favorite part was the gravure shoots. She was a big fan of the glamour photography and they shot some great pictures of her. She is still looking to get a physical photobook of her stuff.

“They treat you like princesses"

Studios loved her and she slipped in their style easily. Her blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin proved to be very desirable. She was unsure of the reception because of her “chunky” body as she puts it then. If it would be popular among fans as her image of JAV idols were of slimmer women. She was pleased of her reception and to learn of more curvy and thick actresses in JAV. They also talk about the ethics of the Ahegao face and how studios requested that she do it. Even now American studios will ask her to do it.

Pornstars Vs JAV Idols

The difference she sees in pornstars and JAV idols are stark. Idols are treated more like celebrities while pornstars are treated more like objects. She definitely prefers the idol culture. They treated her like a princess even tying her shoelaces for her. The reason they are so nice she suspects is because of the hard work schedule. They also talk about male actors, how JAV has older men and normal looking guys. Physical fan meet and greets are more common and structured. How she prefers chunkier dudes. The Future

Good news for fans. It seems like a certainly that she is coming back to JAV. Talking about getting work visas and waiting for the border to open up. My takeaway is that she is definitely coming back to JAV sometime. Maybe sooner than later. She also talked about a potential fan tour through Thailand, Taiwan, and South Korea. Next time around she wants to do more gravure work (get on it Graphis). They talked about any genres or niche stuff she might want to do with the host mentioning some weird stuff. She is more than down for Chikan stuff and love public humiliation. She’s done time stop but not in JAV.

She worked mainly with Momotaro Eizo the first time. Fingers crossed that one of the bigger studios work with her. And maybe pair her off with some fun actresses like Hibihata or my dream pick Aika Yamagishi for some IR lesbian fun. She could work with slut expert director Nao Masaki. They could even team her up with other white JAV actresses like June Lovejoy, Lily Hart, or the hafu Lauren Karen if they wanted to.
